The brother of Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock has been arrested for child porn ... TMZ has learned.

Bruce Paddock was taken into custody moments ago in North Hollywood, CA at an assisted living home.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops were tipped that there was child porn on his computer and they got a search warrant. Our sources say the investigation began before his brother, Stephen, shot up the Vegas music festival earlier this month.

Our sources say before the shooting cops were trying to locate Bruce without success, but after his brother committed his heinous act a tip came in Bruce was living at an assisted living facility.

Cops say they found child porn images on his computer.

The arrest was made by a joint task force that included the FBI and LAPD.

TIPPED BY WHO ???? To tip cops this "person" would have had to know or see the images. I guess the official reason for the shooting will now be the brothers were in a child porn ring and were being investigated..................I guess they think this will cover up the "multiple shooters" theory.

ancientbird66 Good question about who would have 'tipped off' the authorities. It might be as simple as someone from the assisted living facility calling it in, or it may be that the bills for the assisted living facility were being paid by Stephen but are now in arrears and an excuse was needed to get him into a federally funded institution. I think the definition of 'child porn' can be rather broad and the interpretation left up to the individual persecuting the case.

More than likely the brother had information the FBI wants suppressed. Millions of people around the country have child porn on their computers and the FBI doesn't seem too interested in those cases.
