Global Climate Change.
AMAZING !
So far mean global temperatures have fallen only for the past dozen years. The rate of cooling is about to accelerate dramatically though as the real world prepares for decades at least of cooling far worse than the modest warming of the C20th itself due to a Grand Solar Maximum. The unreal world of climate politics prepares for the opposite as real world data and rational thought are beyond their perceptions and threaten their incomes and power base.
While I remain to be fully convinced either way the two likely outcomes are either:
1) A new mini Ice Age of the Maunder type lasting forty or more years.
2) A new but prolonged Daton Minimum lasting a cetuary or more.
Either way the outcomes are going to be very bad for food production across the NH grain belts just as the US dollar and most of the world's fiat currencies are about to collapse throwing much of the developed world into a new Dark Age. The elderly and those approaching retirement are likely to be the worst hit with their pensions and savings removed and at best a thin gruel of state food handouts and minute energy allowances making up the best of what their future offers. Beyond the best are lives ravaged by political oppression, war and pharmaceutical industry induced pestilence.
Many of those who chose the blue pill will take the white pill in its stead.
Istanbul is mostly heated by imported natural gas and when that gas flow stops, electricity off etc. (due to frozen water reserves, rivers ) It will be time to burn wood or coal stoves once more.Turkey has coal but the prices will soar, industry will collapse, end of civilization as we know it.
