Kevin Colvin had a little bit of explaining to do when his pictures appeared on Facebook.

Kevin Colvin thought he had it all worked out - the perfect excuse, a boss none-the-wiser and a dainty disguise rivalling a Kylie costume.

But the intern from the North American branch of the Anglo Irish Bank didn't count on his photo appearing on Facebook.

He sent his boss an email on the afternoon of October 31 - Halloween.

"Something came up at home and I had to go to New York this morning," Mr Colvin wrote.

The next day, colleagues discovered photos of him frolicking around the party in a bright green tutu, with a magic wand and a beer in hand.

When Mr Colvin's boss replied to the e-mail, he included the entire office on it.

"Thanks for letting us know - hope everything is OK in New York," his e-mail said.

"Cool wand."
