Full Description of Event/Sighting: This is to report a strange phenomena rather than an object. About 9:30 pm, a bright light lit up the sky for ~ 2 seconds. It was almost as bright as daylight. We expected some noise but did not hear any sound. As far away as St. Anthony the same "lightening" was reported. That is a distance of 400 miles (700 km from St. John's). Because of local cloud cover it has been widely interpreted as very bright lightening somewhere.

Comment: There have been several reports of "flashes of lights" in the sky in recent months. They have always been explained as transformers exploding or lightning, even when there are no clouds.

Could these sightings of flashes be similar to the one described by these pilots? If so, this would open up a lot of other possibilities - some even bordering on "science fiction."

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I just ran into your story on the UFOs seen over the skies in the Anaheim, Brea area last January. The story sounds very familiar to what I have witnessed on various occasions over the course of a week. The objects could be seen in the sky from various points stretching from the 605 freeway in Whittier, even as far out as the 5 freeway on Beach Blvd. Numerous times we watched the two objects stay stationary for long periods of time and then within a second, they would quickly disappear and reappear elsewhere in the sky. From disappearance to reappearance, the area covered was fast. They seemed to stay in the same perimeter above the skies spanning from Whittier to Brea.

A jet was flying due east, most likely to Vancouver International Airport. The sun glistened off part of the jet's body. Following behind the jet on the port side, a disc followed at exactly the same speed.

When Canadians looked up, up in the sky in 2008, an unusual number weren't able to identify what they were looking at as either a bird, a plane ... or anything else.

In all, according to Winnipeg-based Ufology Research, there were 1,004 reports of unidentified flying objects across Canada in 2008, an increase of 26 per cent over 2007. Reports had been filed by witnesses with government and military agencies, police, civilian UFO groups and online UFO websites.

Following dramatic UFO sightings Feb. 27 over the city here, another series of objects were seen here again by the same witness.

The 52-year-old resident of nearby West Valley City said that he was so shocked by what he saw six days earlier, that aside from one cold evening, he could hardly take his eyes off of the skies. Reached at his home by telephone March 6, the witness said that he might not have seen these particular UFOs last evening had he not been looking - and been armed with binoculars.

Date: 02.25.09: Julio Ruppel was taking photos at the bridge crossing the Quequén River between the communities of Cascallares and Irene on Sunday, February 21, 2009 and when he examined them, he noticed four objects that he could not identify and which at first glance look like two UFOs.

More ufo sightings have been reported in the sky over Helensburgh.

Jo Hall from Rhu reports seeing two orange/red lights behind the clouds when she took her dog for a walk.

She told the Advertiser: "It was either Tuesday or Wednesday evening of last week. I can't remember exactly which day it was but the weather was very windy. I sensed something above me to the right. As I looked up, I saw two orange/red lights travelling from right to left behind the clouds. The clouds were travelling at a speedy rate from left to right and the lights then disappeared from view.

Comment: Hmmmm. Chinese lanterns must now be motorized if they can mover faster than a plane or a bird.

A woman in her sixties claims she has seen mysterious lights above her Thornton Heath home for nearly a month.

Every night the Trafford Road resident sees the unexplained orbs high above the flight path of airplanes, hovering for hours at a time.

Ashford is proving a hotspot for UFO sightings.

After a recent sighting of a white orb hanging in the sky in Singleton another sighting has been made in Great Chart.

Mark Self saw three orange lights close together in the sky whilst with his girlfriend and her son. They took a snap of the images on their mobile phone.

Mr Self said the lights moved at fairly slow speed across the sky and were visible for 5-10 minutes.

US: Second Pennsylvania low flying UFO reported

A second low flying UFO report from March 4 is coming out of this Blair County town. Two silent rectangular-shaped objects were described as "massive" as they flew over the witnesses' home.

Hollidaysburg has a population just over 5,000, seven miles south of Altoona. The famous toy known as the Slinky® is manufactured within Hollidaysburg by Poof-Slinky, Inc.

We reported here yesterday that three V-shaped UFOs moved low and silently over Doylestown, Bucks County, east of this area. In Boston, Massachusetts, also on March 4, a witness reports seeing a "silver boomerang object" hovering above. There appears to be an increase in low flying UFO sightings recently, with reports coming in from around the country. Ufologist Stan Gordon comments below.

US: Orange light UFOs again over Texas

Two cases of orange lights in the sky were reported in Texas on March 5. Two witnesses five miles north of Rising Star, Eastland County, reported a series of orange lights - appearing and disappearing, sometimes blinking. In a second report, a witness from Abilene, Taylor County, reported a similar series of orange lights appearing in a row format like the Phoenix Lights case - where one light turns on, then a second, then a third, and so forth.

This pattern of lights has been reported in many other cases. See the links to previous stories following the reports.

In Missouri today, reports of a bright light hovering in the sky came in from two different witnesses.
