England: Witness sees 12-20 dark orange/red 'stars' in a constellation

Date of Sighting: 23/12/09
Time: 7:00 PM

Witness Statement: Walking home with very clear skies, I noticed what seemed to be a very bright dark orange / red star constellation with about 12-20 "stars". I thought for a moment that it could be part of a large crane doing work on the hospital until the crane came into view andIi noticed these "stars " were higher & to the right of the crane. Twice houses blocked my view as I walked and whenIi saw them for the third time they seemed a little fainter. I put this down to stronger street lighting, however my view was blocked for about a minute and when I got to a view point they had all vanished, yet all other objects in the sky remained.

Time: 2300hrs-2315hrs

Witness Statement: We are sitting at work totally dumbfounded as we seen a red fiery orb. It actually sent a few bolts of red and green lights to the side and below. The orb then stopped moving for a few seconds then sped off to the side and vanished. This was no lantern as the speed it moved and how it just hovered and then sped off.

And no we haven't been at the egg nogg!!

Time: 3 am

Witness Statement: I heard a slow whirring noise and looked out of the window. We often have helicopters hovering and airplanes to and from Birmingham airport but this was something I had not seen before. It was bright red and orange with yellow circular lights at the back. It was quite large and was there for 10 minutes. I tried taking a photograph but it is a bit blurred. My friend has seen the photo and thought maybe it was a plane on fire but it was so strange as it was stationary and then proceeded south moving very slowly.

Press release: Website launched for astronomers to report observations of unexplained phenomena

A scheme is being launched that will give amateur and professional astronomers a formal mechanism for reporting any unexplained phenomena they observe when studying the night sky. In the framework of International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009), the Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena (UAP) Observations Reporting Scheme aims to provide a global focus for sightings by astronomers and contribute towards a better understanding of transient phenomena occurring in the atmosphere.

The reporting scheme has been set up by amateur astronomer, Philippe Ailleris, who proposes to use the unique opportunity of IYA2009 to collect additional and more rigorous information on UAPs, more popularly referred to as UFOs.

"These phenomena are mainly seen in the night sky, a domain that astronomers have long considered their own, and it is important to collect testimonies from members of the population that are trained observers. We aim to approach this controversial field of UAP sightings from a professional, rational point of view and without any preconceived ideas. Certainly whenever there are unexplained observations, there is the possibility that scientists could learn something new by further study," said Ailleris.

Robert Bigelow is one of my personal heroes, a space man who can - and will - change the world because he believes so. Now, the FAA says that you should call one of his mysterious companies if you see an UFO.

Bigelow's main space company - Bigelow Aerospace - already has two private test space stations in low Earth orbit: Genesis 1 and 2. On an early morning last week, just 10 days before Christmas, as I lay in bed gathering my thoughts, I heard a loud crashing sound downstairs in my house.

No sound had preceded it, so I did not fear a break-in. But it was loud enough to wake my wife. "What was that?" she asked, alarmed. "I'll go check," I said dutifully.

In that no one else was home, I had figured that the Christmas tree had toppled over or a picture had fallen off a wall, but I could find nothing out of order.

With no place else to look, I checked the sparest and smallest room downstairs, the one where I kept my weights and a TV to watch while working out.

What I found there, especially on reflection, was evidence enough for me to come to a rather stupendous conclusion: yes, Virginia, there is indeed life after death.

To understand how and why I concluded thusly requires a little back-story. It begins with a family friend we will call "Anna," a sensible young wife and mother I have known forever.

Three Nevada UFO witnesses have come forward to allow videotaped testimony, according to recently released video at the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) youtube site.

The official MUFON youtube page - mufonhq - has released video regarding MUFON Case # 19777.

The sighting involved three family members who witnessed a large, orange ball of light in the sky about 50 miles north of McGill.

New Zealand: Lights a mystery

A line of seven separate orange lights in the sky has several Bay of Plenty people puzzled tonight.

Stewart Kennedy of Mt Maunganui says he and half a dozen other people watched the mystery lights move noiselessly and slowly in from the southeast and travel out over the sea, where they eventually disappeared from sight.

He says they were low in the sky.

Stewart Kennedy says no way were they aircraft or weather balloons.

He says the lights did not pulsate, but gave out a steady glow.
