Note: I received the following account this morning. I have no idea what this cryptid is and was hoping to get some suggestions from the readers...Lon

Early morning, December 16, 2009 at approximately 1:30 AM, I witnessed a strange creature as I drove home from a holiday party. I live in western Maryland a few miles outside of Grantsville, MD. The sighting occurred only 1 mile from my house. I was completely sober since I cannot drink alcohol for medical reasons. As well, I was not tired since I had slept several hours before I went to the party. I was alone, though I had given a friend a ride to her home. I was traveling at the posted speed limit, maybe a bit less since I always watch for wildlife crossing the road after dark.

    • A group of Spanish and Argentinean tourists who chose the Valles Chalchaquíes to spend their holiday never imagined that they would spend one of their most startling moments in the lives in Cachi, as they became witnesses to two strange object s in the sky which they unhesitatingly classified as unidentified flying objects (UFOs)

    Deborah Marcos Orellana, 27, Paloma Euguren Orellana,21, Maria Aya, 32 all hail from Ibiza, Spain. In the company of Jorge Domicheli, 27, Carlos Paz and Martin Minghetti, 28 of Buenos Aires, they spent Saturday morning surveying the idyllic Cachian landscape. Meanwhile, in the evening, they decided to tour the community, where they heard locals discussing certain strange events that occurred frequently in the area, such as UFO sightings.

    Description: My dogs awakened me first at 4:30 AM on Sunday 12/27/09. I let them outside and they came back in. I went back to bed 5 minutes later. My one dog awakened me again at 5:45 AM. As I was getting out of bed I glanced out the bedroom window and saw a bright red light in the sky. I walked over to the window and opened it to get a clearer view and to listen for a sound. In doing so I heard a very low hum that went from high to low. That morning you could hear a pin drop. Living in the woods is extremely quite during the winter and Sunday morning 12/27/09 was a cold crisp and no wind morning. It was completely still. The object was actually just above the tops of the trees and about a 1/2 football field away. It was quite large. It was hard to define the actually shape and size. When I first spotted it there appeared to be 3 prongs or legs hanging down from it covered in red, blue green, and yellow-amber lights. I awakened my friend to come and take a look. As he was watching this object I was trying to find my iphone to no avail.

    Description: After crossing the Gloucester bridge into Yorktown I drove up Highway 17 toward Newport News. As I approached Ft Eustes Blvd I thought that I saw a helicopter up to my left. Looking closer I saw a triangular object with lights on each side. Behind it was a long boom like structure with a white ball at the end. The ball then dropped and when I looked back to the object, it was gone. There is an oil refinery near by and also NASA - Langley.

    Time: approx 7.30 pm

    Witness Statement: Bright orange light, looked like plane on fire. No noise, first thought it was a helicopter. Traveled out of sight and then came back for about 20 mins circling. husband looked through binoculars, and said "my god it's the shape of a flying saucer", it went off towards the East and disappeared. Pretty sure it wasn't chinese lantern as it seemed to flying in different directions. Sure there must be a rational explanation, did anyone else see it?

    Time: around 3.45pm

    Witness Statement: My husband and I sighted a object hovering next to a building about 6-7 storeys high. It them turn on its side and we could see lights turning in a circle. It just looked like what you think a UFO looks like saucer shaped. It then moved over to the Circle building on Duke street and disappeared. It was approximately 12 foot across. The lights were bluey/white. This lasted for about 45 seconds, I live in the city centre and there was lots of Christmas revelers out. Did anyone else see anything?

    Witness Statement: My wife and two of our three grown-up children were arriving home after an afternoon at Kempton Park races. As we turned onto our estate where we live, we saw a bright orange orb in the sky at around 1000 feet altitude in a due easterly direction over Horsell village around a mile away. At that distance and elevation I estimate the orb would have been between 100 and 200 feet diameter. We pulled up outside our house and the four of us witnessed this strange apparition in the sky. The orange outer surface formed a corona like effect. There were flames coming from the left hand side. It was perfectly stationary.

    Pittsburgh Metro UFO sightings summary for 2009

    There were a total of 64 UFO sighting reports filed for the four-county metropolitan Pittsburgh region this year. Leading the way was Westmoreland County with 37 sightings, followed by Allegheny with 18, Beaver 5, and Washington 4. One of the more interesting reports came shortly after the New Year, on January 3. A witness was driving west on Lincoln Way toward the intersection of Route 48, when he noticed a bright string of lights forming a triangular-shaped object hovering motionless above a Giant Eagle parking lot. The witness admitted to being a poor judge of height and size, but claimed the object was huge, and close to the ground. While watching the object, more lights started to appear on the edges. The lights suddenly lit up with a brilliant flash before returning to the original light pattern. The object then seemed to simply vanish into thin air. Another sighting of note was reported on September 7 from a witness who observed a strange object while sitting in his parked car at the Pittsburgh Mills mall. The witness noticed a strange, dark, pea-sized circle. Using a pair of binoculars, the object appeared to be shiny at times, then become more transparent before becoming cylindrical in shape. The witness estimated the size of the object to be between 40-100 feet in length.

    On December 24, 2009 at 15:54 hours, the crew of an Aeromexico Boeing 737-800 reported that it had come across spherical traffic in the vicinity of Cerro de la Estrella (east of Mexico City). The aircraft had recently taken off from the airport.

    I heard the conversation myself. I heard when they asked if there was other traffic on the screen on air corridor 21.

    The airliner was at an altitude of 10,000 meters under excellent visibility conditions.

    This report can be added to other recent ones involving UFO sightings over the Mexican capital city, such as the one that occurred on Thursday, December 17 when platform personnel saw two spherical objects flying over Benito Juarez Airport. This occurred at 5:30 a.m. in a south-to-north direction, at an altitude of approximately one kilometer.

    US: 'I'm dead serious': San Antonio couple calls 911 after 'Bigfoot' sighting

    San Antonio police have released a 911 dispatch call reporting a "Bigfoot" sighting.

    The audio recording between a dispatcher and the homeless couple lasts more than eight minutes. In it, the primary caller appears sober and deliberate as she describes the beast Nov. 30.

    "And I know you guys are going to think I'm crazy, but I'm dead serious," she says on the recording. "This big thing was 75 feet away from me, smelled awful, devoured a whole deer carcass, and then took off and screamed, screeched, and took off across the street."
