US: Oregon witness ponders solid bright light over Portland

An Oregon witness watched a silent, solid, bright light move slowly across the sky traveling west to east over Portland on June 27, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"It was brighter than the brightest star, and moving too fast to be a satellite or space station, and as fast as is was going had to be lower to the ground than cruising altitude, yet I did not hear a sound," the witness stated.

The witness described the light.

"Solid light, not wavering or shimmering that I could see, just a steady light moving slowly and soundlessly overhead and off to the east."

US: Triangle UFO moves over Tennessee skies

A Tennessee couple out for a country drive spotted a large, triangle UFO on June 23, 2010, that sported yellow-orange lights at each point, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

As many other UFO witnesses have reported in the past, the lights on the object did not seem to be projecting light.

"The lights were not lights in the usual sense in that they did not seem to project light but radiated it like a hot eye on a stove," the reporting witness stated. "The edges of the light were very distinct and not fuzzy. The triangle was black and it was seen clearly against the background of the sky."

And as happens in some UFO sightings, there is a jet in the area to compare to the apparently anomalous object. The jet was emitting a noise, but the UFO was not.

"The jet was making the normal sound but the black triangle did not emit any sound and it seemed to move very smoothly. We watched the triangle move away from us and I observed the apparent altitude to gauge if it was close to the ground or high as it appeared. It was at a high altitude and did not seem close to the ground when it was further away."

US: Virginia witness reports egg-shaped UFO low in sky and getting brighter

A Virginia witness is reporting watching a white sphere or "egg shaped" object low in the sky for three minutes on June 18, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"The motion was uniform and towards the east," the witness stated.

The object appeared to get brighter as the witness watched it.

"It appeared to brighten again as it approached the trees. In all I observed it for about 3 minutes.I found the variation in brightness interesting."

US: North Carolina witnesses watch orange light divide into nine-orb formation

Nine witnesses in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, watched a "ball of reddish orange light" as a "small white light" appeared alongside it and shortly after, the orange light divided into nine orbs and formed a V-formation on June 22, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"There was no sound and no other aircraft around, and it was about 10 degrees over the ocean's horizon, about 1 to 2 miles away," the witness stated.

The sightings were at 9:35 and 9:37 p.m.

Helicopters moved into the area immediately after the sighting. At 11:45 p.m., military jets moved over the area. The following day, "military helicopters flew up and down the beach all day long, nonstop."

Was this all a military exercise, or were the military aircraft searching for the anomalous objects?

US: Series of glowing white orbs reported moving over Pennsylvania skies

A Pennsylvania witness near the Delaware Water Gap reports observing a series of "glowing white orbs" at different altitudes on June 23 and 24, 2010, while similar anomalies are reported on the same date in four other states, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"On the evening of the 23rd I saw one that was at a much lower altitude. It was traveling W to E," the witness stated. "No sound whatsoever as it passed over. No erratic movements. Seems to travel a fairly straight line. Even though it was lower than the others, it was still higher than commercial jets in flight."

The witness also reports that some of the orbs can only be seen with binoculars.

Glowing white orbs (sometimes red) have been reported this past year from many states. From the numerous reports, there seems to be a high percentage of witnesses that say the objects are moving in a controlled manner. In some cases, smaller orb-like objects have been reported being ejected out of larger objects. And in some of those cases, the smaller orbs move to ground level, or otherwise move independent of the larger object.

UK: Several UFO Sightings in Bushey in Past Month

Bushey could soon be the unlikely location of a government x-file as residents reported several UFO sightings in the past month.

Jackie Noise says she was "really freaked" when she and her husband spotted a UFO for the second night in a row floating above Pasture Close this week.

She filmed a still, bright, flashing light in the sky, at about 11.15pm on Wednesday, June 30, and says it was a "really strange" experience.

Strange lights in the sky caused a stir this week prompting theories that aliens may have been passing through the borough.

Neighbours in Greenway Gardens, Greenford, came out into the street to gaze at about 30 bright white lights moving in small groups across the night.

RAF Northolt confirmed there were no airborne operations taking place at the time, at about 11pm on Sunday, and suggested flying Chinese lanterns my be the cause.

The lanterns are made of paper and wire and have candles inside so that they can float like miniature hot air balloons for several miles. But residents said the lights were too bright and white to be be mistaken for them.

Greenway Gardens resident Mike Roberts said: "They looked like the lights from helicopters but they were silent. There were about 30 of them, they must've covered about 200 yards of sky, they looked quite mysterious. There were quite a few of us out looking at them, some wondered if it was aliens. "They were moving quite quickly and we watched them until they went out of view. A lot of people must have seen them."

UK: Have You Seen Mysterious Orange Lights in Skegness?

Thursday, 2.45pm: A mysterious formation of orange lights in the sky has been the subject of much speculation in letters sent to the Standard.

Susan Jeffery's letter published in the last edition of the Standard asked whether any other readers had seen balls of orange light in the sky following the thunder storms on Saturday, June 5.

Susan was at the Chase Caravan Park in Ingoldmells when she noticed the unidentified lights and more readers have come forward with similar descriptions of lights in the sky in that area.

Susan wondered whether the balls may have been meteors whereas others have attribute it to a rare weather phenomenon.

Sheila Essex said she witnessed five of the balls moving slowly in formation before disappearing out of vision.

The likeliest explanation for the phenomenon is unfortunately also the least interesting.

Press officer for the Met office Helen Chivers said: "They are probably Chinese lanterns - they became quite popular last year and we have had quite a few calls about them."

Canada: 7 orange lights observed over Georgetown, Ontario

I too have seen this formation approximately 3 years ago. It was approximately 10:30pm in our backyard, the lights were very dim and in a V pattern. My wife and I have seen several strange lights in the sky over the Georgetown area since then that we cannot seem to explain.

After that first incident I immediately started looking on the internet for other sightings in the Georgetown area and could not really find anything current. I have checked every so often until I seen this posting. I would be curious to know if they followed any pattern or if the 7 were independent of each other.

Hi, I'm (name removed) in Culpeper County, Virginia. I found your website after Googling, "lights, sky Luray,VA" So I'm outside with the dogs at 10:30 and notice this unusual light. Now we live out in the country with a nice, dark sky with a great view of the blue ridge about 17 miles away, no/little light pollution. This light seemed to be moving slightly. Up and down, side to side, almost quivering. I spent about 10 minutes trying to determine what it was, but with my 50 year old eyes I couldn't tell. So I got my 21 year old son and my zoom binoculars and with them realized that it was actually 3 lights.
