A UFO sighting over Portland, Oregon, was described by the Michigan witnesses as "very similar to what we saw."
A Michigan couple and other family members describe themselves as being "frightened" on November 26, 2010, after watching a bright orange light with defined edges move across the sky. Perhaps more unsettling than the sighting is that it was followed by odd occurrences, for several hours.
"It moved faster than any flying object that I have ever seen, and it made absolutely no noise," the witness says. "One of my brothers was particularly unnerved by how silent the craft was, especially because it moved so fast."
Family members say that "weird things started happening after it was gone." A high wind picked up from the Canadian side of the river. "First, the wind picked up like crazy, blowing from the North East/ East toward the South West/West and it was blowing so hard that our windows were rattling in the wind. The wind actually made waves appear on the river."
A reader identified as "Rob" tipped us off that the I Am Legend viral-looking swamp monster caught on cam - which we reported on yesterday and has been covered across the Net - is actually "a viral marketing hoax set up by Insomniac Games, What you see there is called a Grim."
Rob then directed us to the Daily Mail coverage of the photo, which suggested it may be a viral hoax for the upcoming Spider-Man 4. That seemed like a particularly far out idea, but a commenter on the Mail story suggested it was courtesy of video game developer Insomniac for their upcoming Resistance 3.
That would make sense; Insomniac released an excellent live-action trailer for the game:

What? Where? The story goes as follows - 16-year-old Alex Player of Bilambil Heights, Australia, has managed to capture an alien creature on film no less than four times.
The images were captured on October 5, October 24, November 20 and November 28, 2010, on a video camera and mobile phone.
On one of the occasions, as can be seen in the video below, Alex was filming his cat out on the deck when he noticed something moving in the darkness. He was evidently having difficulties getting a clear shot of the creature, but Alex explains why he believes it to be an alien:

MUFON released November statistics December 1, where the total number of reported UFO sightings are listed by state. The UFO Examiner uses these statistics to rate states. The entire country was moved back to the lowest alert level - UFO Alert 5.
California was the leading UFO report state - with 65 cases - and remain in the UFO Alert 3 status with Florida, 38 reports, and Texas, 33 reports.

Manu eyeballed the UFO when he was in town to play the Clippers on December 1 -- and he has since launched a serious investigation into the matter ... which involved a lot of Googling.
Manu posted his findings on his Facebook page yesterday, saying the best answer he could come up with was "a kind of spacecraft which is called X-37B and was supposed to land in the area between December 3 and 6. According to various media, it landed on Dec 3."
Manu points out that he spotted the craft on December 1 ... not December 3 ... so the mystery remains.

An Orchard Park, NY, witness reports watching and photographing a "shape shifting object" observed for six minutes beginning at 3 p.m. on November 11, 2010, that seemed to "go from solid to a light-energy form," according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witnesses' boss first pointed out the object in the sky, which first appeared to look like an "escaped birthday balloon."
"But seconds later it looked very different so I took out the trusty cam and got some shots....wow," the witness stated. "I had these pictures for about two weeks before I got to looking at them. The object seems to go from solid to light/energy form, very interesting! All images are taken one after the other."
The witness states that five images were taken, but that the MUFON database only allows three to be uploaded with a report.
This happened on December 1st, 2010 at 5:09pm on a walk in Santa Monica California. My wife and I were walking west about 17 blocks from the ocean when we saw these bizarre objects in the sky. It happened so fast, I barely was able to film...

Adam Cainero believes he captured a photograph of an alien spacecraft hovering above an escarpment near Majors Creek, in the Southern Tablelands near Braidwood.
After an unsuccessful weekend fossicking for gold Mr Cainero and a friend were making the long trip home when he stopped to take a snap of the steep mountain they had driven down.
When he got home, Mr Cainero said he realised he had found gold of another kind after all.

"We found metallic objects measuring around five times six ten centimetres in several places," said fire service chief Vitor Espirito Santo in an interview with news agency AFP. He added that nobody had been injured.
