Polish study confirms risk from vaccines far greater than benefits

vaccines
A 2012 Polish study, published in the journal Progressive Health Sciences, highlighted what we've all known — and what the mainstream media and vaccine fanatics keeps denying — all along: The risks of vaccines far outweigh any of their perceived benefits.

Researchers from the Department of Pediatric Rehabilitation at the Medical University of Bialystok looked at the typical childhood vaccination schedule in Poland and compared it to that of other countries around the world. They evaluated the adverse effects associated with the administration of multiple vaccines at once, as well as how individual vaccines affect immunological development and response.

Comment: Polish study: No historical benefit in vaccines

Huge chunk of the American diet is "Ultra-processed" foods

More than half of all calories consumed in the U.S. come from "ultra-processed" foods, which can contribute to serious health complications like obesity and heart disease, new research finds.

Ultra-processed foods are products that contain several manufactured ingredients that are not generally used when cooking from scratch, including natural and artificial flavors or colors, sweeteners, preservatives, and other additives.

These are often used to imitate the taste, texture or other qualities of natural foods, or "to disguise undesirable qualities of the final product," lead study author Carlos Augusto Monteiro, a professor in the Department of Nutrition, School of Public Health at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, told CBS News.

Comment: Consider the fact that 57% of the average American Caloric intake comes from 'ultra processed foods' and then read the following article. Is there a clear relationship between junk food consumption in America and terminal apathy?
Terminal apathy & junk food: What rats say about Americans
Dr. Blaisdell's studying clearly indicates that junk food, while causing obesity, subsequently causes laziness and fatigue. Combined, the political cousin of these two symptoms is: apathy.

By all metrics, Americans consume the most quantity of the worst-quality food supply in the developed world, as such leading in obesity. In America this endemic apathy is causing Americans to have little interest in their own increasing domestic peril. In a nation of increasing authoritarian governmental control, American processed junk food may have now become the most effective US government weapon for controlling the reactions of its own population. Examples of irrational American apathy are evident every week.

Endocrine Disruptors: What are they & how you can avoid them

endocrine disruptors
Living in a world filled with so many toxins that can wreak havoc on our health, it's important to understand how your life may be affected and how you can keep yourself safe. Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that may interfere with the body's endocrine system by mimicking hormones in your body, causing adverse developmental, reproductive, neurological, and immune effects.

Hormones affected include the female sex hormone estrogen, the male sex hormone androgen, and thyroid hormones. These chemicals can block hormonal signals in the body and disrupt how the hormones or receptors are made or controlled. And with the potential risk of life-threatening conditions and illnesses, including cancer, clearly this is not something to be taken lightly.

The FDA's new face of evil

FDA evil
© talesfromtheloublog.wordpress.com
For those of us who live our lives through the lens of logic and reasoning, it comes as no surprise that the FDA is enslaved to pharmaceutical companies. We've seen the constant displays of evidence. Pharmaceutical companies fund vaccine laws. Pharmaceutical companies lobby politicians at the very highest of levels which then turn around and push mandatory laws. Washington's greedy tolerance of lobbyist means that wealthy pharmaceutical companies can act with immunity and direct laws favorably in their terms.

But now the points mentioned above are as good as confirmed with a pen and paper. Robert Califf is the new FDA commissioner. If you think that Califf's first detail will be to clean up lobbying, ensure the sanctity of the agency and assure the public that the FDA's primary objective is to protect and serve the public at large, then you are completely wrong. Califf has ties so deep to pharmaceutical companies that it isn't even practical to attempt to hide them. In fact, he's pitching it as a beautiful thing for all of us. He recently told NPR, "Many of us consult with the pharmaceutical industry, which I think is a very good thing. They need ideas, and then the decision about what they do is really up to the person who is funding the study." Have we come to such a futile point in time that our expectations are so incredibly low that we don't even bother to get upset over a statement such as that of Califf's?

Comment: Robert Califf approved as the next FDA commissioner - the FDA now officially belongs to Big Pharma

An honest conversation about genetic engineering? Bill Gates' GMO propaganda

roundup, gmo
Some of the world's most powerful figures tout the benefits of GMOs, writes Stacy Malkan, but what's the real story? Facts on the ground expose the PR spin, half truths and outright propaganda that has come to dominate a public conversation that is not so much about engineering genes, but engineering truth for the benefit of multinational corporations.

The food industry's fight to stop Vermont from labeling genetically engineered foods is heading to the floor of the US Senate.

And the spotlight on labeling is underscoring the need for our country to have a more honest conversation about GMOs.

Two recent videos illuminate the deep divide between the stories we hear from opponents and proponents of the controversial food technology.

Everyday toxins harming your brain

whole in the head
© keefeclinic.com
Some of the most common substances found in everyday life are harming our cognitive function right now. Along with pesticides, you have substances like BPA, phthalates, mercury, lead, benzene, and flame retardants that are affecting you, even if you don't realize it. Hidden in your home and office, you are exposed to toxic chemicals on a daily basis, and your brain is taking the brunt of it.

Your brain interacts with every aspect of your body, giving directions to cells and the nervous system. It is essential for supporting good mood and clear thinking, helping to improve your overall quality of life. Here are seven of the most harmful and pervasive toxins you should look out for in order to support brain health.

Derek's wife had put up with more than most people could stand before she finally decided to call the doctor. Almost every night, her husband would wake her up from sleep to tell her another bon mot that had just come to mind. In a bid to finally get a good night's rest, she eventually persuaded him to write them down rather than telling her directly.

Soon, he had filled 50 pages with witticisms such as:

Went to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get my driver's license. They gave me an eye exam and here is what they said: ABCDEFG, HIJKMNLOP, QRS, TUV, WXY and Z; now I know my ABC's, can I have my license please?

White bread & bagels increase risk of lung cancer by 49 percent, with non-smokers more at risk, study finds

Comment: This is priceless! All the warnings about smoking causing lung cancer, and it turns out that smoking correlates with a decrease risk of lung cancer for those with a diet high in GI foods. One would think this would lead to further investigation and a questioning of the 'risks of smoking', but unfortunately the senior author still recommends avoiding smoking as a way to reduce the risk of lung cancer. Propaganda and belief runs deep.

Eating foods that are high on the glycemic index (GI), such as white bread, bagels, and rice, can increase the risk of lung cancer by as much as 49 percent, a new study has found.

Having examined the eating and smoking habits of 4,320 people, of whom 1,905 were diagnosed with cancer and 2,415 had no health issues, researchers found that those with a diet high in GI foods were nearly 50 percent more likely to develop lung cancer.

What many may find even more surprising, however, is that non-smokers with such a diet are more at-risk, with results showing that they were more than twice as likely to develop the cancer as those with a diet mainly low in GI food.

The study, which was conducted at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, found that high GI foods, which also include potatoes and corn flakes, produce high levels of blood glucose and insulin, thus causing an increase in insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) associated with increased lung cancer risk.

Comment: Although this is a case-control study, it cannot prove cause and effect. Another major setback is that it was based on self-reported data which is not very reliable, particularly if people are trying to report on their carbohydrate intake over the course of their life. Studies have wrongly demonized meat consumption based on unreliable self-reports.

Also, vegetable oil could be the major co-founding factor in this study. Many high-glycemic index foods are cooked in vegetable oils. Research and basic science suggests that the combination of vegetable oil and evil carbohydrates is deadly.

Nevertheless, the correlation found in this study is remarkable with nearly a 50% increase in lung cancer!

Review of 29 studies concludes: Depression is not just a mental disorder

depression
3,961 people from 29 different studies were included in the analysis.

Depression is more than a mental disorder, it affects the body's ability to detoxify itself.

It should be seen as a systematic disease that affects the whole body, argues a new study in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.

Accepting that depression affects the whole body could help explain why people experiencing depression are more likely to suffer from cancer, cardiovascular disease and to die younger.

Comment: New View of Depression: An Ailment of the Entire Body
Scientists are increasingly finding that depression and other psychological disorders can be as much diseases of the body as of the mind.

People with long-term psychological stress, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder tend to develop earlier and more serious forms of physical illnesses that usually hit people in older age, such as stroke, dementia, heart disease and diabetes. Recent research points to what might be happening on the cellular level that could account for this.

"As we learn more...we will begin to think less of depression as a 'mental illness' or even a 'brain disease,' but as a systemic illness," says Owen Wolkowitz, a psychiatry professor at the University of California, San Francisco, who along with colleagues has conducted research in the field.
