Landslide in Sabaneta, Antioquia, caused by heavy rains.
At least five people were killed and two are missing after a landslide near Colombia's second-largest city Medellin on Thursday, local authorities said.
Rescue teams were deployed to Sabaneta municipality, south of Medellin, where heavy rains caused landslides and flooding, Antioquia department governor Andres Julian Rendon said on X.
Videos shared on social media appeared to show several homes buried in the region.
The mayor's office said it had set up shelters for victims while rescue efforts are ongoing.
An Oklahoma father found his 6-year-old son covered in blood and bite wounds after he was fatally mauled by several dogs outside their home, officials said.

The forecasts have come true, and a "cyclonic storm" is causing significant hailstorms in the interior of the province of Valencia, where it has even covered the streets of some towns in white. The hail has caused damage in several towns, such as L'Olleria, Casinos, and Villar del Arzobispo. Furthermore, rain gauges exceed 61 liters per square meter in the Castellón town of Rossell, according to Avament records.
The southern interior was on orange alert for storms that could include hail, and the forecast proved correct. This was the case in parts of the Vall d'Albaida, such as l'Olleria, where hail quickly turned the streets into a blanket of white. "It was as if it had snowed," explains Mayor Ramón Vidal.
The storm began around 4:15 p.m., although the wind had already given an hour's warning of what was to come, with gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. By 4:00 p.m., the winds had reached over 30 liters per square meter, all within about 15 minutes.
The Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) has shown signs of record-breaking growth after decades of contributing to global sea-level rise — as experts reveal their theories why.
A study published in Science China Earth Sciences revealed that between 2021 and 2023, the AIS gained mass at a rate of 108 gigatons per year — a remarkable reversal from the rapid loss seen in previous years.
The researchers analyzed data from the GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) and GRACE-FO (GRACE Follow-On) missions, which measure changes in Earth's gravity field to track ice mass fluctuations. They found that the AIS had been losing ice at a rate of 142 gigatons per year from 2011 to 2020.
That accelerated mass loss was mainly driven by the destabilization of glaciers in West Antarctica and the Wilkes Land-Queen Mary Land (WL-QML) region of East Antarctica.

A woman has been killed by an alligator in a lake in central Florida, authorities said.
The attack happened while the woman was rowing a small boat near the mouth of Tiger Creek stream in Lake Kissimmee, south of Orlando, at around 4pm local time (9pm UK time) on Tuesday, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said.
The woman went into the water and wasn't seen again until her body was recovered nearby, the commission said in a statement.
Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies and marine units assisted with the search.
The sheriff's office has said that the woman was in a kayak, which had an enclosed hull, with another person who wasn't reported injured.
But a commission spokesperson said the agency believes the woman who was killed was in a canoe which had an open hull.
Heavy rains and strong winds swept through southern Israel on Sunday, causing flooding in several areas.
Police closed multiple main roads, including key entrances to the southern city of Eilat, as conditions worsened by the afternoon, reports The Times of Israel.
Kibbutz Samar had received 34 millimetres (1.3 inches) of rain, while Kibbutz Yotvata recorded 17 millimetres (0.7 inches) by 4:30pm, Meteorological Service said.
Police urged the public not to enter areas that were flooded.
They said that approaching or crossing flooded roads, streams, or cisterns is strictly forbidden, stressing that doing so is "life-threatening."
The police have advised the public to avoid any non-essential travel to areas at risk of flooding.
They also urged travellers and hikers to check reliable sources for the latest updates before setting out.
Over the weekend, Mt. Hutt in New Zealand's Canterbury region has experienced a remarkable snowfall of approximately 1.2 meters (3.9 feet). This takes the current snow base at the top of Mt. Hutt to an estimated 1.8 meters (5.9 feet) and the lower base to 50 centimeters (1.6 feet). However, the exact snowbase is currently hard to establish, as wind drifts have created stacks of well over 2 meters (6.6 feet) in places—a record for the first week of May.
While snowsport enthusiasts welcomed the early, abundant snow, lower areas experienced severe flooding in the Canterbury region. Destructive winds caused damange to roofs and powerlines and resulted in power outages in 1,165 hourseholds in Wainuiomata, Kelson, Belmont, Avalon, and Epuni.
Authorities were looking for the animals responsible after a Florida man and his dog were found dead from a suspected bear attack Monday, wildlife officials said.
Robert Markel, 89, was discovered dead along with his dog at his home near the community of Jerome in Collier County after authorities were called shortly after 7 a.m., Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesperson George Reynaud said.
He and his dog were found in different areas, within a couple hundred yards of each other, Reynaud told reporters.
"We do know it was a bear attack. We don't know if it was the same bear or multiple bears," he said.
The attack on Markel and his dog, which occurred just south of the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area, may have happened at different times, Reynaud said.
Four false killer whales have died and three more remain stranded off a beach in Western Australia.
The Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) received a report of seven false killer whales about 20 metres off House Beach, a remote 150 metre-long stretch of sand about 12km east of Bremer Bay and about 540km south-east of Perth.
Staff journeyed to the location to assess the situation and confirmed that four of the whales have died.
Drones are surveilling the area to rule out any further strandings nearby.
Wildlife staff will attempt to refloat the remaining three whales.

Several people on social media posted videos Monday morning of a waterspout forming in the waters off of Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico.
Alex Morales, a resident of Rocky Point, started capturing video at 9:40 a.m. of the funnel. In total, he said his videos spanned about seven minutes, as it moved through the water. His video was taken from Las Palomas Resort.
KGUN 9 Meteorologist Cuyler Diggs viewed the video and confirmed it was a waterspout. He explained it was a rare occurrence in that area, but likely was caused by the same low-pressure system moving through Southern Arizona.
"The purpose of GLADIO was to attack civilians, the people - women, children, innocent people, unknown people, far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force the public to turn to the State and demand greater security. Under a strategy of tension, you 'destabilize in order to stabilize', to create tension within society and promote conservative, reactionary social and political tendencies."
