It doesn't get much better than this folks. With a smile, handshakes and a lesson in family values, a member of the "axis of evil" and alleged 21st century "Hitler" today destroyed years of hard work and scurrilous propaganda by the American, Israeli and British governments.

TAYLOR, Mich. - A woman's five children were in protective custody after she was charged with offering to let an undercover investigator have sex with her 7-year-old daughter.

The 33-year-old woman, from the Detroit suburb of Taylor, was arrested Friday night after bringing the girl to a hotel in Romulus, near Detroit Metropolitan Airport, where she had agreed to meet the investigator, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department said.

Another psychopath: Soldier pleads to role in rape, murders

A soldier pleaded guilty Wednesday to being an accessory to the rape and murder of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl and the slaying of her family.

Pfc. Bryan Howard, 20, of Fort Campbell, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obstruct justice by lying to his superior officers about the attack last year in Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad. It was one of the most shocking atrocities committed by U.S. troops in the Iraq war.

Howard agreed to five years in prison under a plea deal but will not serve more than 27 months if he follows conditions of the agreement, military judge Col. Stephen Henley said.

Spending all that money to combat a threat that is as rare as a catastrophic comet hitting the United States makes little sense. If NASA were able to use the same scare tactics as DHS, perhaps the space agency could persuade a reluctant Congress to give it the paltry $1 billion (by comparison) for its equally absurd Spaceguard Survey program, which tracks asteroids and comets that have an equal probability of killing Americans as terrorists do.

Comment: Sorry, Ivan, but you picked a really lousy comparison, or haven't you noticed the flurry of fireball sightings over the last few months? And their tag line is "Enlightening ideas for public policy"! Right!

Looks like we nailed it in our editorial of last week about the Iranian "defector". According to Iranian officials Asghari was, as we suspected, a long-term spy for "Western agencies" i.e. Mossad and the CIA, and his escape into the arms of the West seems to be herald the final stage in the building of the bogus case for a murderous attack on the Iranian people by the American, British and Zionist thugs.

VIENNA, Austria - New doubts are arising about the accuracy of U.S. intelligence on the nuclear programs in North Korea and Iran, only a few years after faulty warnings about weapons of mass destruction helped President Bush justify the invasion of Iraq.

North Korea agreed earlier this month to dismantle its plutonium-producing nuclear facilities in exchange for economic aid and security assurances from the United States and four other world or regional powers. The pact successfully put aside for now the possibility of military action.

But the Western standoff with Iran remains tense. The Bush administration says it won't rule out an attack if Tehran refuses to end its nuclear enrichment program.

However, in both cases, once-strident U.S. pronouncements about the programs - which raised the tension level with Pyongyang and Tehran along with Saddam Hussein's Iraq - are apparently being replaced by less alarming assessments.

UK MP: Kelly must have been murdered

The Hutton Inquiry's finding that David Kelly committed suicide does not "hold water", and the truth is that the Government scientist must have been murdered, a senior backbench MP said today.

Following a personal investigation lasting eight months, Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker said he did not believe that Prime Minister Tony Blair or the Government were "actually responsible for his death".

But he declined to say who he did believe was to blame, telling GMTV's The Sunday Programme that he had narrowed down his investigation to three or four possible explanations, which he was subjecting to further analysis before announcing his conclusions.
