China: At least 4 Police inspectors beaten to death by angry crowd after they killed a man documenting their brutality

Image
Riots in southeastern China after brutal police-inspector killed a man with a hammer in broad daylight. People smashed several police cars and were attacked with tear gas.
At least 4 Chengguan, the most hated police-inspectors in China, were beaten to death by angry people in Cangnan County of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province (located in the industrial southeast), after they killed a man with a hammer. The police-inspectors hit the man with a hammer until he started to vomit blood, because he was trying to take pictures of their violence towards a woman, a street vendor. The man was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.

Thousands of angry people took to the streets, surrounded the police-inspectors in their van, attacked them with stones, bats, and beat them to death. People were shouting that the police-inspectors be killed on the spot for what they did: "Kill them! Kill them!"

Insanity! Police go on a psychopathic rampage, beating, tasing, and macing an entire wedding party

More than a dozen wedding guests were brutalized by police officers during a raid on a wedding party at a hotel. Cops fired tasers, used batons, and generously applied pepper spray to the guests of a bride and groom hours after their wedding. Among them was former pro-baseball star Brandon Backe, who said the shoulder injuries that he received from police caused his pitching career to end.

After causing a gaping head wound, bruises, hair pulled out, a broken nose, and pepper spray on numerous individuals, the only reprimand any of the officers received was a paperwork violation. Interestingly, none of the 3 dozen cops reported any use of force.

Wedding Crashers

An event that should have been happy and memorable turned into violence and chaos when the Galveston Police got involved. A couple had just exchanged their vows and were celebrating with friends and family at the San Luis Hotel.

Everything was fine until an off-duty police officer thought that he had witnessed the bride's brother, Daniel "Cole" O'Balle, 19, walking outside with an alcoholic beverage in his hand. Suspecting an under-aged adult had consumed a beverage without government permission, and violated the "open container" prohibition law, he phoned the police department for backup.

Cowardly California cop misses 'aggressive' dog and shoots himself in the leg

Image
Following a run-in with a dog on Wednesday, a Riverside County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized. In this particular incident, however, the dog isn't to be blamed.

The deputy was serving court documents to a resident in the 3000 block of Eucalyptus Avenue. Around 2 p.m., a dog allegedly came at him "aggressively."

Fearing for his safety, the deputy pulled out his gun but, instead of doing whatever he was planning on doing, shot himself in the leg in the process. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Blaming the victim: Nebraska school's 'ludicrous' advice for bullying victims

Image

Fifth grade students at Zeman Elementary School in Lincoln, Neb., were recently sent home with a "flyer" outlining how they should handle bullies. The instructions were apparently deemed so ridiculous by parents that the school district quickly issued an apology and the "inaccurate information" was pulled.

That was after the nine "rules" for dealing with bullies went viral, of course.

Here are some of the more questionable ones:
- Rule #3 Do not be afraid.
- Rule #4: Do not verbally defend yourself.
- Rule #7: Do not tell on bullies.
- Rule #8: Don't be a sore loser
- Rule #9: Learn to laugh at yourself and not get "hooked" by put-downs.

Ammon Bundy: Harry Reid 'needs to be kicked out of office'

Image

The son of a Nevada rancher who battled the federal government over the roundup of his cattle believes it's time for Sen. Harry Reid to be kicked out of office.

"If he doesn't have enough moral fiber in his bones at all to see what happened, that we the people got together and made something right, then I don't think there's any hope for him and he needs to be kicked out of office, even if he is the Senate majority leader. It doesn't matter," Ammon Bundy, son of Cliven Bundy, told Fox News, responding to Reid's comments that "it's not over."

Ammon Bundy says federal authorities used a stun gun on him.

Cliven Bundy, whose family has operated a ranch since the 1870s southwest of Mesquite a few miles from the Utah line, does not recognize federal authority on the land that he insists belongs to Nevada.

Obamacare plan denies meds, drops doctors for brain surgery patient

Image
© Kristy Leibowitz Margaret Figueroa, at home on Staten Island, has a hard time getting meds to treat her nerve disorder.
A New York woman suffering from a neurological disease that has required four brain surgeries has been dropped by all of her doctors and denied medications due to her Obamacare plan.

"I've been vomiting. I lost 22 pounds. The pain is unbearable," said Margaret Figueroa, 49, on Wednesday. "My medication helps me function during the day."

Figueroa suffers from a disease known as Arnold Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia. Even though the Obamacare plan she purchased assured her that she was covered, her insurance card was denied when she went to fill her prescriptions. Then she learned that none of her doctors accept her Obamacare plan. Figueroa says she cannot find a doctor who accepts her Obamacare plan; indeed, there are only six doctors in all of Staten Island who take her plan, none of whom she's been able to get appointments with.

Nearly 1m people rely on handouts to eat - and benefit reforms (austerity) may be to blame

600 religious leaders from all denominations combine to condemn 163 per cent increase in food bank use in past year

The shocking scale of food poverty in Britain is exposed today by new figures showing record numbers of people are reliant on handouts because of punitive benefits sanctions.

More than 900,000 people were given emergency food in the past year, an increase of 163 per cent, according to figures from the Trussell Trust, the biggest food bank charity. The explosion in demand has coincided with an increase in those seeking help following a benefit sanction.

A coalition of anti-poverty charities, including the Trussell Trust, claims the figures show that the UK is breaching international law by violating the human right to food.

Separately, 600 church leaders from all major denominations, including 36 Anglican bishops, are writing to the Government today, calling for urgent action to address hunger among the poor.

The letter will say that Lent has been "a time of sorrowful reflection" on the huge rise of those using food banks. It marks the biggest Christian intervention on UK food poverty in modern times.

Netherlands: Total ban on smoking in cafes and bars delayed by three months‏

Plans to reinstate the smoking ban in bars and cafes across the entire hospitality industry in July will not be achieved, junior health minister Martin van Rijn has confirmed.

'In practical terms, it will be very difficult to make it by July 2014,' Van Rijn told MPs. The delay has been caused by the slow processing of the legislation through parliament.

'We are ready to do so and café and bar owners know it is coming,' the minister said. 'I will try and implement it as soon as possible, perhaps by October.'

That's not the Loch Ness monster on Apple Maps

Okay, we'll grant that the new satellite images of Loch Ness make you do a double-take. The photos that astute monster-hunting fans have turned over to the Daily Mail show something that certainly looks like a giant lurking prehistoric sea creature.

But don't go making plans for Megashark versus Nessie just yet.

The Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club has a website that fittingly looks like it crawled out of an earlier century, but they're ahead of the technological curve when it comes to monster-hunting. Two different members of the club had the bright idea to trawl web-based satellite imagery to see if they could spot the monster. One, a 26-year-old charity worker named Andrew Dixon, told the Daily Mail that he stumbled across the images by accident.

The image clearly shows what looks to be a lurking giant creature swiming just below the surface of the water:

Dozens of widows dropped due to Obamacare in Alabama

Over two dozen widows in Alabama were dropped from their health care plans due to Obamacare, WHNT reports

"More than two dozen widows who were married to retired Madison county employees, lost their health insurance coverage earlier this year. And now one commissioner says it's time to give it back to them. The change was sparked by the new federal health care law, but whether or not coverage can actually be restored really isn't clear," said the anchor.

Says the reporter, "Madison county commissioner Roger Jones says no one realized just how much the new federal health care law would change things, especially for the spouses of some of his former employees."
