A job advertisement on the government's very own recruitment website calling for "bubbly, chatty" girls to be naked cleaners has sparked outrage.

A woman in her 30s from Yorkshire was left in shock after she stumbled on the online ad, which promises an hourly pay of between £25-100 ($34-135) for girls willing to strip off their clothes and clean their client's house naked.

The Fantasy Cleans job ad features the picture of a blonde woman wearing white lingerie while scrubbing a toilet floor. Clients are told they can: "Sit back while they do all the dirty work. We are happy to assist you with any requests you have."

Applicants should be "bubbly, chatty and friendly house-proud girls and guys to work on a self-employed basis.

Cause for celebration: NYT says online subscriptions, ads slowing

NYT dobitnik “Pulitzera” za širenje “istine o ruskom režimu”
The New York Times added fewer online subscribers in the first quarter as it cut back on discounts and digital advertising sales fell, sending its shares down more than 4 percent on Thursday.

The Times added 139,000 digital subscribers in the latest quarter, compared with 348,000 a year earlier, when it offered hefty discounts for annual online subscriptions.

Huber Research analyst Craig Huber said some of the readers who purchased discounted subscriptions last year did not renew, causing the drop in additions.

Digital advertising revenue, which accounts for more than a third of the company's total advertising sales, fell 6 percent, hurt by a fall in display advertising on its websites. In contrast, print advertising revenue recorded a smaller drop of 1.8 percent.

"We expect another down quarter in digital advertising in (the second quarter), but are confident that we will return to solid year-over-year growth in the third quarter," chief executive officer Mark Thompson said.

Comment: Maybe it's because you're a failing piece of garbage, NYT.

Iowa is set to become the first US state to ban abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, after lawmakers approved the most restrictive ban in the country.

Republican lawmakers in the state passed the bill banning the procedure after the point that a foetal heartbeat is detected.

The bill must now go to Iowa's top official to write the bill into law.

Kim Reynolds, the Republican governor, has not said if she will sign the bill.

If it comes into effect, the law will ban most terminations after six weeks of pregnancy, a move which women's rights groups say will be the country's most restrictive abortion law.

The Gallup World Poll, released on May 1st, surveyed over 1,000 people in each of 128 countries, and found that the three nations with the highest percentage of employees satisfied with their jobs, were UAE, Russia, and U.S.

In UAE, the lowest percentage, 31%, were seeking full-time employment but not in full-time employment. 58% of citizens who were full-time employed rated their jobs as "Good." 12% rated them as "Great."

Russia had 51% seeking but not having full-time work; 35% who had full-time work rated their jobs as "Good"; and 13% had "Great" jobs.

U.S. had 56% seeking but not havng full-time work, 32% with "Good" jobs, and 13% with "Great" jobs.

The other nations with the highest jobs-satisfaction were Kazakhstan, Singapore, and Panama, with 11% in each having "Great" jobs; Estonia, Mongolia, and Uruguay, with 10%; and Colombia, Canada, Philippines, and Mauritius, with 9%.

However, Panama had a very high 73% who were seeking but not having full-time employment; Mongolia had a very high 71% who were, and Philippines had an even higher 78% in that category; so, those three actually had fairly poor overall scores, because of their high percentage of citizens who couldn't obtain full-time employment.

Wild West Ukraine: Thugs pour milk on politician at council meeting, he draws his gun firing a warning shot into the ceiling

Man pours milk on politician
A Ukrainian politician took the phrase crying over spilt milk to a whole new level when he pulled out a gun on a disruptive right-wing gang and fired warning shots, during a city council meeting.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday in the city of Nikopol, when thugs from the extremist, nationalist Right Sector group stormed the city council meeting, demanding a change in the administration. They managed to derail the session, silencing the mayor and provoking angry shouting matches with some of the officials, including the mayor.

Arguably the key moment occurred after one of the protesters showered a council deputy with a dairy product. Enraged, the doused deputy pulled a gun, fired a warning shot into the ceiling and began brandishing it at the group, shouting threats and obscenities.

Saudi/US/UK massacres and assassinations trigger new phase of Yemen war

Houthis
© al Arabiya
In mid April some 20+ of Sudanese soldiers were killed in an ambush in northern Yemen. Sudan, which sent up to 10,000 soldiers to Yemen in hope of Saudi money, is reconsidering its engagement. The Gulf states had promised investments in Sudan and the lifting of U.S. sanction in exchange for sending cannon fodder. Neither happened.

The war Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the powers behind them wage on Yemen aims to install a proxy-government that defers to them. The Yemeni people do not want that. They resist against the overwhelming forces of their rich neighbors. Especially the Zaidi people of north Yemen dislike their proselytizing Wahhabi neighbors. Their Houthi movement leads the fight. Yemeni in general regard them as 'monkeys with laptops'. To overcome the resistance the Saudi launched a genocidal campaign of blockading, bombing and starving the people into submission.

The same week the Sudanese mercenaries were killed, airstrikes by Saudi jets slaughtered dozens of Yemeni civilians:
An airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition hit a wedding party in northern Yemen, killing at least 20 people including the bride, health officials said Monday, as harrowing images emerged on social media of the deadly bombing, the third to hit Yemeni civilians since the weekend.
...
An airstrike on Sunday night hit a house elsewhere in Hajja, killing an entire family of five, according to al-Nadhri.

On Saturday, at least 20 civilians were killed when coalition fighter jets bombed a bus carrying commuters in western Yemen, near the city of Taiz, which has been locked in fighting for three years.
After the bombing of the wedding one boy, 3 to 5 years old, clutched to his dead father all night (video) and rejected attempts to be taken away. A graphic video taken the next morning shows that the boy is still there and the terrible aftermath of the Saudi massacre. The Onion only slightly exaggerates when it writes that the Saudi clown prince visited the child to finish the job.

Western values? Odessa nationalist promises "Ukraine won't belong to Yids!"

The rule of 'Yids and oligarchs' will be abolished in Ukraine and the country will again belong to Ukrainians, the head of the Odessa branch of the Right Sector far-right group promised, during a large nationalist rally this week.

The so-called 'March of Ukrainian Order' assembled several thousand people in Odessa as demonstrators in the Black Sea port carried flags of Right-Sector, Svoboda and other radical groups, and chanted nationalist slogans. Tetiana Soykina, who was sporting a khaki T-shirt with a Right Sector insignia and an orange fanny pack, addressed the rally from the roof a bus.

"We believe... we are confident that we'll bring the real Ukrainian order to both Odessa and Ukraine. Ukraine will belong to Ukrainians - not the Yids. Not the oligarchs. Glory to Ukraine!" she said.

"Glory to heroes," the crowd replied, uttering a famous Ukrainian nationalist slogan, as the crowd appeared to be on the same page as Soykina.

Comment: These are the Ukrainians supported by the U.S. and Canada (among other Western nations) for the last 4 years. What is it with Western nations supporting nazis and jihadis in other countries? Almost makes you think they don't really care about the "Western values" they harp on about.

Russian Foreign Ministry official: Al Qaeda richer than Islamic State, but US views Iran as bigger threat than terrorists

The revenues that Al-Qaeda receives are now more than a dozen times higher than that of Islamic State, but the US still considers Iran and Hezbollah to be greater threats than terrorists, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said.

The income of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), which once held vast parts of Iraq and Syria, dropped to $3 million per month, Dmitry Feoktistov, deputy director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department on New Challenges and Threats told RIA Novosti.

Feoktistov stressed that such a drop followed the cutting of the group's channels of financing, mostly thanks to the efforts of the Russian Air Force, by blocking the terrorists' trade of hydrocarbons.

War against men: University of Texas rolls out 'MasculinUT' program branding all men as potential violent rapists

The war on men continues to ramp up on American University campuses, with the latest assault on "toxic" masculinity coming from the University of Texas.
UT masculinUT, toxic masculinity
These days, it appears that being a man means you're crazy. You're a rapist waiting for a woman to rape. You're a misogynist, just looking for a woman to oppress. You're a brute, looking for a woman to punch in the face. You are violent, domineering, and angry.

At least according to the University of Texas at Austin.

They've rolled out a program called MasculinUT that treats men as though they are violent rapists just waiting for a woman on whom to force themselves. And, you know, slap around a little, because apparently, that is what men do. The project praises a poster of a black man with a flower crown, but mourns that masculinity "should go further than that."

This makes me curious about what "further than that" would look like. Curious in a morbid, car accident on the side of the road kind of way, where you want to see it but you don't want to see it all at the same time.
