John Zmirak: 'I know Sidney Powell, she's telling the truth'

Sidney Powell

Sidney Powell, author of the bestseller "Licensed to Lie" and lead counsel in more than 500 appeals in the Fifth Circuit, in Washington on May 30, 2019.
Back in 2014, I worked freelance for a public relations firm in New York City. It was there that I met an unusual woman. I didn't know many lawyers or Texans, but I knew better than to chalk up her qualities to either her profession or her home. It's rare that I encounter someone who I'm afraid to argue with, because of her sheer brain power and towering personal rectitude. But this was such a person.

This woman had quite a career behind her. An evangelical Christian, she'd been a federal prosecutor — and quit, outraged at the corruption she saw among her colleagues. She did more than quit. Horrified by prosecutors hiding exculpatory evidence and targeting the innocent because of their personal politics, she became a defense attorney, to help people fight the feds.

She Gave Up Everything to Expose Abusive Prosecutors

But that wasn't enough. At a huge financial sacrifice, she took time off from her practice to write a book. And self-publish it. And hire a public relations firm to get it out to people, when media ignored it. That book, Licensed to Lie, is absolutely chilling. It shows innocent Americans, even a U.S. Senator such as Ted Stevens of Alaska, unable to defend themselves against prosecutors with vendettas. It recounts how innocent companies, like accounting firm Arthur Anderson, can be broken by biased and dishonest federal prosecutors, and left in ruins. A real-life legal horror story, the book was too disturbing for me to read it through to the end.

And its author was Sidney Powell, whom I used to go to lunch with in midtown Manhattan. In retrospect, I feel privileged. I knew she was a powerhouse, but I little suspected what an historic role she would someday play. When I saw that she was representing General Mike Flynn, I knew one thing for sure — that he was innocent.

Comment: The nature of Powell's allegations is a bit greyer than either side admits. Some claims are probably true (e.g. relating to massive election fraud involving the vote machines), others not so much (e.g. details like those from the Venezuelan whistleblower - but even then, some WikiLeaks docs at least show that they aren't a brand new fabrication - questions over Dominion's ties with Venezuela have been around since at least 2006). Some will probably be impossible to verify, like "Hammer and Scorecard," and perhaps the "German Scytl server" stories. Due to "national security", she can probably get away with making some of these claims, even if they are untrue, because the truth - or falsity - of them can and will never be revealed. And as long as Powell does not focus on the Venezuelan's claims to the extent that the Democrats focused on Steele's dodgy dossier - and risk a similar fallout if his credibility is thrown into question - she'll probably be fine on that front. The only real advantage of repeating his claims is to exploit the American climate of "foreign interference" hysteria prompted by the Dems' Russiagate.

All that said, it seems that Powell is making the claims she is making because she believes them. Whether they turn out to be true - in whole or in part - remains to be seen, of course. But we wouldn't put money on Dominion going after her. Even if some of her accusation against them could be false, they seem dirty enough to want to avoid any lawsuit in which the actual truth might come to light.

Balancing opinions is now problematic? BBC includes different views in story about trans teen suing NHS & triggers 'woke' meltdown

A BBC article that contains multiple views about a lawsuit brought by a trans teen has been denounced by activists as transphobic, leaving some to puzzle over how the broadcaster could be condemned for doing actual journalism.

The offending piece, penned by the BBC's 'LGBT Correspondent' Ben Hunte, delves into legal proceedings being brought against Britain's National Health Service by a fourteen-year-old transgender boy, who claims that he has experienced unacceptable delays in beginning gender reassignment treatment.

The teenager, named "Reece" in the article, has been waiting for over a year for a referral to the only NHS gender clinic for children and young adults. The Good Law Project, a nonprofit organization that aims to "use the law to protect the interests of the public," is representing Reece. The group has argued that the NHS has a legal obligation to provide care to their client within 18 weeks, or to provide an alternative, such as private or overseas treatment. The NHS, facing a backlog of children and young people being referred to the gender clinic, is currently carrying out a review of how it processes such cases.

Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs is planning to create a biometric data bank of facial images and fingerprints for both Russians and foreigners, allowing the authorities to identify unknown people more easily.

Over the next three years, the department will develop new software, enabling the government to more efficiently store data collected about people inside the country. The agency also noted that such a database would allow quicker identification of dead bodies, if necessary.

Speaking to Moscow news agency TASS, a source explained that the database will also include genomic information.

Comment: Russia is not the only country collecting an invasive amount of information about its citizens. The supposedly "free" West has been at it for ages.

Dr. Andreas Noack arrested in brutal display of German lockdown police state

A doctor in Germany, Dr. Andreas Noack, was arrested by the Police on Wednesday in what appears to be a gross violation of personal liberty. The reason for his arrest is not yet clear but he was arrested while live-streaming on YouTube from his own home. The Police barged into his home when he was live on his YouTube channel.

The manner of his arrest presents some extremely disturbing scenes. He appeared too shocked to respond while the Police continued to yell at him until he lied down in the ground. The arrest of Dr. Andreas Noack occurred after the passage of the 'Infection Protection Law' which was protested heavily by vast sections of the German population. The arrested doctor was supposedly providing medical assistance to anti-lockdown protesters.

According to reports, "The reasons for the police raid and arrest ... have not yet been officially revealed. However, there are rumors [unconfirmed reports] that Dr. Andreas Noack provided medical assistance to hundreds of protestors during lockdown protests against the German government." Reportedly, Dr. Andreas Noack was under investigation for "being non-compliant with the COVID-19 lockdown laws enacted by the German government."

Humor will save the world: John Cleese mocks 'woke' Twitter mob after being labeled 'transphobic' for supporting JK Rowling

British actor John Cleese is standing his ground after being bombarded by accusatory tweets stemming from his support for author JK Rowling, dismissing claims of "transphobia" as nothing more than a bad joke.

The Monty Python star was unmoved by the indignation that flooded his notifications after Twitter users attempted to reignite outrage over an open letter Cleese had signed in September in solidarity with Rowling. The Harry Potter author has been hounded by allegations of "transphobia" after she argued that denying the existence of biological sex erases the "lived reality of women globally."

As the anonymous insults and accusations piled up, Cleese went on the offensive, firing off a series of snarky responses to his critics.

Comment: Kudos to John Cleese for standing by JK Rowling against the lunatic trans/PC/cancel culture crowd.

Absentee ballots are processed at the central counting board in Detroit, Mich., on Nov. 4, 2020.
Yesterday, data scientist Sarah Eaglesfield tweeted about some interesting facts she uncovered while looking into Wayne County, Michigan's voter data from the November 2020 election. Her data, so far, explores cluster votes in Michigan's Wayne County, where hundreds of affidavits have been filed sharing eye-witness accounts of voter fraud and intimidation by paid election workers and officials and Democrat activists present at the TCF Center, where absentee ballots were processed.

Eaglesfield's tweet reads:

Today, Sarah Eaglesfield shared the data she used to obtain the information she shared on Twitter yesterday. She tagged Michigan's Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (who insists there was no voter fraud or intimidation of poll challengers in Wayne Co), Trump attorney Sidney Powell, President Trump, Joe Biden.

Comment: Another Michigan witness is on record saying she observed the 4 a.m. Biden ballot dump, as well as officials tampering with the ballot tabulators. Articia Bomer describes:
  • Hearing an announcement of 50 boxes at 4am: the Biden Ballot Dump!
  • Hearing that the Biden Ballot Dump was counted and processed in an impossibly short amount of time
  • Witnessing officials TAMPERING with tabulators at the TCF Center!
  • Ballot harvesting operations being done by a local Church
  • Poll workers overriding the actual votes, and changing Trump votes to BIDEN!
  • Poll workers REFUSING TO COUNT Trump votes!
  • Poll workers bringing in luggage and boxes that could have contained illegal ballots
  • Poll Workers using deceitful tactics and colluding with Democrats to try and EXPEL GOP Poll Challengers
  • GOP Poll Challengers being EJECTED from observing the vote count
  • GOP Poll Challengers were observing ILLEGAL BALLOTS and their objections were IGNORED
  • Poll workers being obvious Democrat PARTISANS
  • Suspicious meetings of the poll workers
"Now? I don't have faith in any election system after having witnessed this fraud happen right before my eyes," Bomer said.

Researchers find critical 'backdoor' in Swiss online voting system developed by Scytl

Researchers have found a severe issue in the new Swiss internet voting system that they say would let someone alter votes undetected. They say it should put a halt to Switzerland's plan to roll out the system in real elections this year.

An international group of researchers who have been examining the source code for an internet voting system Switzerland plans to roll out this year have found a critical flaw in the code that would allow someone to alter votes without detection.

The cryptographic backdoor exists in a part of the system that is supposed to verify that all of the ballots and votes counted in an election are the same ones that voters cast. But the flaw could allow someone to swap out all of the legitimate ballots and replace them with fraudulent ones, all without detection.

"The vulnerability is astonishing," said Matthew Green, who teaches cryptography at Johns Hopkins University and did not do the research but read the researchers' report. "In normal elections, there is no single person who could undetectably defraud the entire election. But in this system they built, there is a party who could do that."

Comment: The the problems with Scytl (and all its descendants) have been known for some time, yet officials continue to utilize them. Three guesses why(though you should only need one).

Georgia election systems could have been hacked before 2016 vote

Georgia voting machines
© David Goldman/AP
Georgia has been at the center of questions about voter security, due to the fact the state has used insecure paperless voting machines since 2002.
A Georgia election server contains evidence that it was possibly hacked before the 2016 presidential election and the 2018 vote that gave Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp a narrow victory over Democratic opponent Stacey Abrams, according to an election security expert.

The incident, which occurred in late 2014, long before either of those elections, not only calls into question the integrity of Georgia's voting machines during critical elections, but raises new questions about whether attackers were able to manipulate election data and voter information through the compromised server.

It's unclear who may have carried out the alleged attack or if voter information was altered, but Logan Lamb, the election security expert who uncovered the activity, believes that if hackers did breach the server, they could have gained "almost total control of the server, including abilities to modify files, delete data, and install malware."

Audit says officials took freebies from voting machine firms

Pennsylvania's elected auditor says officials in 18 of the 67 counties reported accepting gifts, meals or trips from firms competing to sell new voting machines ahead of the 2020 elections.

Pennsylvania's elected auditor says officials in 18 of the 67 counties reported accepting gifts, meals or trips from firms competing to sell new voting machines ahead of the 2020 elections.

Democratic Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said Friday that accepting the gifts is wrong, even if officials took no action in return.

DePasquale says the gifts included expense-paid travel to destinations including Las Vegas, tickets to a wine festival and distillery tour, dinners at high-end restaurants, tickets to an amusement park and an open bar at a conference for elections officials.

Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf is pressing counties to buy voting machines with voter-auditable paper backups ahead of the 2020 election.
