A Russian actor claims the recent Sky News documentary about undercover Russian mercenaries in Syria was staged. RT spoke to a man who claims to have impersonated one of the fighters the British outlet spoke to.

In a recently-aired Sky News investigation the channel claimed it uncovered facts about Russian mercenaries in Syria operating undercover.

One of the key pieces of evidence provided was an interview conducted by Sky News' Moscow correspondent, John Sparks, who spoke to two males who allegedly comprised part of a secret Russian force, called "Wagner" operating in Syria.

One of them, named Dmitry said that some 500 to 600 people of the unit died while serving in the country. The faces of the men were hidden and voices changed "to protect their identities."

Russian warships of the Black Sea Fleet conducted three launches of the Kalibr cruise missiles on al-Nusra Front targets in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The strikes destroyed a terrorist command center and a base Dar-Taaza, as well as a major plant producing mortar ammunition and a large arms depot in the Aleppo province, the ministry said.

"Today, at 10:55 a.m., Zelyony Dol and Serpukhov small-sized missile ships of the Black Sea Fleet carried out three launches of sea-based Kalibr cruise missiles on al-Nusra Front targets in Syria from the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea during combat maneuvering."

China's navy has carried out deep-sea military exercises in the Sea of Japan, just days after Tokyo warned against escalating tensions in the region following a record number of Chinese government vessels being spotted around a group of disputed islands.

As reported by the Xinhua newspaper, citing a source in the navy, the exercises started on Thursday and lasted through Friday. The source did not disclose the exact location of the drills, but said they were done in a "certain part of the Sea of Japan."

The Chinese military's official newspaper, the People's Liberation Army Daily, reported that among the vessels taking part in the exercises were a missile destroyer, two frigates, and a supply ship of the Jingzhou distant sea training fleet - all returning from 'Rim of the Pacific' (RIMPAC) multinational naval exercises hosted by the United States in Hawaii. These were 'battling' against vessels of the East China Sea Fleet. The exact number of the ships taking part in the exercises was not given.

Citing drill commander Xu Haihua, PLA Daily reports that the drills were of a routine nature and were planned beforehand, adding they were meant to help enhance the Chinese fleet's ability to fight far out at sea, test soldiers on the open water, and practice formation reconnaissance and decision-making.

Ukrainian neo-Nazis threaten to spread their pathology into Poland

According to announcements from the official website of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine, the "Viriy" international expedition and educational camp will be held from September 8th-19th. The expedition will depart from Lvov to the "ethnic Ukrainian lands that now belong to the Republic of Poland," the organization's website says.

A few words about the INR and its leader: The institute was established following the Orange Revolution in 2005 according to the model of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance. The main issue which the institute dealt with at the initial stage of its founding was searching for evidence to prove the "Holodomor" against Ukrainians in Stalin's Soviet Union. In Poland, the Ukrainian institute's director, the Lvov-native Vladimir Vytrovich, is considered a neo-Banderite historian. But this definition is only partly true. The upcoming action, as well as the INR's activities as a whole, have nothing to do with historical science. History is used only as material for political purposes. It is no accident that the creation of the INR was actively participated in by the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, a political party based on the Banderite Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists. Vyatrovich himself was a prominent employee of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

Experts familiar with the history of Ukrainian neo-Nazism (which is wrongly graced with the name "nationalism") know that its different varieties adhere to the mechanistic concept of the "united Ukrainian state," which means the unification of ethnic Ukrainian lands within the boundaries of a Ukrainian nation-state. The "from the San to the Don" line in the Ukrainian anthem speaks to this "unified Ukraine's" territorial claims, as the San is a river on Polish territory. Ukrainian neo-Nazi programs claim the territory of several provinces in Poland but, in fairness, Ukrainian neo-Nazism has territorial claims against all of contemporary Ukraine's neighbors.

This distortion of history is also, of course, being achieved through global propaganda institutions that receive large financial support from the US. There are many museums that are also engaged in promoting an identical 'Soviet genocide' propaganda line across the post-Soviet space, revealing the same mastermind behind this historical mockery. The museums in question include: the Museum of Genocide Victims in Vilnius, The Vilna Gaon Lithuanian State Jewish Museum, Military Museum in Latvia, Museum of Occupation in Georgia, Kiev‟s Museum of Soviet Occupation, The Institute of National Remembrance-Commission of the Prosecution of Crimes Against the Polish Nation, the Romanian Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, and the National Remembrance Institute in Slovakia, headed by an active member of the neo-Nazi movement, I. Petransky.

The third and most recent wave of historical corruption started with the dramatic overthrow of the government of Ukraine's fourth President, Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014.

West demands ceasefire in Syria as US-backed terrorists lose the war

As rebel hopes in Aleppo fade, Western media highlights stories of humanitarian disaster in the city and UN presses for a 48 hour ceasefire. The Russians respond by making practical suggestions to relieve the suffering in both government and rebel controlled areas of Aleppo.

A fact which suggests that the balance of military advantage is once again shifting against the rebels in 'the Great Battle of Aleppo' is a media storm that has appeared centred on a picture of a dazed 5 year old boy identified as Omran Daqneesh who has been pulled out of the rubble apparently following a bomb strike in eastern Aleppo.

This picture, which is on the front page of all of today's broadsheet British newspapers, comes shortly after a signed letter from doctors based in rebel held eastern Aleppo pleading for US President Obama to come to their rescue.

Meanwhile Staffan de Mistura, the UN's special envoy for Syria, is demanding a 48 hour ceasefire in and around Aleppo, thereby implicitly rejecting a Russian offer of daily 3 hour ceasefires and humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to leave rebel held eastern Aleppo.

Leaving EU and restoring trade ties with Russia to be priority for Netherlands

The Netherlands will be able to improve relations with Russia only after leaving the European Union, which will have an overall positive impact on the country's future, founder and leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom Geert Wilders said.

Earlier, the leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom called for a referendum on EU membership to be held in the Netherlands.

"Brussels should not dictate who we can have economic and political relations with. Restoring ties with Russia is a priority direction for the traditionally trade oriented country which is what the Netherlands has always been. For centuries our countries have benefited from bilateral cooperation despite conflicts. And today lifting the anti-Russian sanctions is a mandatory condition for our positive future," Wilders told the Russian Izvestia newspaper.

Spain's national debt reaches highest level since 1909

Spain's state debt reached €1.1 trillion ($1.24 trillion) in June, the highest level since 1909, according to the data released by the Bank of Spain.

Sovereign debt has been continuing its unswerving escalation since 2008, when it was 39.4 percent of the national gross domestic product (GDP).

Debt rose 4.7 percent in June compared to a year ago when it amounted to €1,057 trillion.

The figure, equivalent to 100.9 per cent of the country's output, is well above the target projected for the current year.

Madrid is aiming for 99.1 percent of debt-to-GDP by the end of 2016, after last year's 99 percent total.

Following the report, the Economy Ministry claimed that it remained on track to meet year-end targets, disputing the data.
