There is no reason to doubt claims made by the country's former PM, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Moscow sees no reason to doubt claims made by businessman and former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili that the West has explicitly asked Tbilisi to go to war with Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

The top diplomat made the remarks on Tuesday on the sidelines of the BRICS group summit in Kazan. He had been asked to comment on Ivanishvili's statements by Russian daily Izvestia.
"I see no reason not to believe them. They [the Georgian leadership] invoked dialogues with Western countries, which directly encouraged them to take military action with Russia. I have no reason not to trust them," Lavrov stated.
Earlier in the day, the founder and honorary chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Ivanishvili, said the country's ex-PM, Irakli Garibashvili, told him that during his time in office he had been approached by a senior Western official with a proposal to launch a war on Russia.

Let's talk about...MSM coverage of Israeli War Crimes

War Crimes
© Off-Guardian
Two weeks ago, it was widely reported across all the Western legacy media that Israel had fire-bombed a hospital leaving patients to burn to death in their beds.

A few days later, we were told by the same Western legacy media that Israeli strikes inside Lebanon had destroyed a 2000-year-old village.

Today, CNN's front page hosts an IDF soldier describing Israel's practice of using civilians as human shields in Gaza, while the Guardian details an Israeli strike on school-turned-bomb shelter in Gaza.

Now, it's not at all unusual that Israel should be committing war crimes, they've been doing so unchecked for decades.

But what is less usual is seeing these war crimes appearing on front pages and in headlines in the controlled media.

We've all been doing this long to have dispelled any idea the MSM cares about truth.

They don't care about truth. Not at all. In fact these days their internal structures barely permit them to recognize truth as a concept.

Nothing - nothing - is so true the media have to report it, no crimes are so brutal they can't be ignored.

Case in point, in Odessa in 2014 civilians protesting the NATO-backed coup in Ukraine were chased inside the Trade Union building by pro-coup neo-Nazis.

The building was barricaded and set on fire. People climbing out of the windows to escape the flames were shot at.

Forty people died, shot or burned to death. The neo-Nazis responsible celebrated by showing pictures of beetles being set alight (their disparaging term for ethnic Russians was "Colorado beetles" in reference to the orange and black ribbon of St George they wore).

How did the legacy media respond to this murder?

Well, they just lied.

West's belief it can defeat Russia 'a mere illusion' - Putin

putin

The West is using Ukraine to threaten Russia's security while believing in the "illusion" that it can inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

Speaking at the extended Outreach/BRICS Plus format session in Kazan on Thursday, Putin stated that the emergence of a "more just world order" is being hampered by "forces accustomed to thinking and acting in the logic of domination over everything and everyone."

According to Putin, the West's "unlawful unilateral sanctions" and interference in the affairs of other countries under the pretense of "concern for democracy and human rights" are actively undermining regional and global strategic stability, as well as encouraging "interstate strife."

Putin pointed to Ukraine as an example, stating that it is being used to "create critical threats to Russia's security" while Moscow's vital interests, as well as its "just concerns about the infringement on the rights of Russian-speaking people," are being ignored.

Kiev's foreign backers "do not even hide any longer their goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on our country." Putin said, adding that the West's belief that it can achieve its goals is "a mere illusion."

"Only those who don't know the history of Russia can believe in this, because they don't take into account the unity and the strength of spirit of Russians forged over the centuries," Putin stated.

EU backing for Ukrainian neo-Nazis 'a disgrace' - Lavrov

EU and NATO leaders have disgraced themselves by supporting Ukraine, where the theory and practices of Nazism are being legalized, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

In an interview with Argumenty I Fakty newspaper on Monday, Lavrov reiterated that the "de-Nazification" of Ukraine remains one of the key goals of Russia's military operation.

"The biggest disgrace for the EU leaders - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, [former NATO Secretary General] Jens Stoltenberg, the president of the European Council, Charles Michel - is that they have repeatedly stated from Brussels that they must support Ukraine to the end because it is fighting for their European values," he said.

This backing basically means that top Western officials "are still ready to defend the so-called values of Nazism," the foreign minister stressed.

'Theft' of sovereign assets now US government policy - Moscow

President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that frozen Russian funds will be leveraged to support Ukraine. Washington's use of the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to repay a $20 billion loan to Ukraine shows that the US has advanced "theft" to the level of government policy, the Russian Embassy in the US has said.

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced:
"A historic decision to leverage Russian sovereign assets to support Ukraine. The US will provide Kiev with a $20 billion loan as part of a broader $50 billion G7 package."
The day before, both the EU and UK announced loans of their own, similarly to be repaid via interest from Russian funds. The use of windfall profits from blocked Russian assets will provide Ukraine assistance "without burdening taxpayers," Biden said.

Comment: Big Favor: Biden infers American citizens to be complicit in his robbery scheme. Will taxes go down? Nyet.

As Kiev's biggest war sponsor, Washington says it has provided Ukraine with more than $64 billion in military assistance since the escalation of the conflict in 2022.

Comment: Follow the leader, EU's complicity du jour:
The European Parliament has approved a €35 billion ($38 billion) loan to Ukraine to be repaid with revenues from frozen Russian assets, according to an official statement on Tuesday.

The EU froze approximately €210 billion ($227 billion) in Russian Central Bank assets following the start of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022.

The financing fulfills the EU's share of a $50 billion aid package for Kiev agreed by G7 countries in June. MEPs approved the move with 518 votes in favor, 56 against and 61 abstentions, the parliament announced. The funds will be transferred through the end of next year, it added.

Future revenues from frozen Russian Central Bank assets will be made available to Ukraine to service the EU loan and loans from other G7 partners. The statement added that Kiev may also allocate the funds "as it sees fit."

The proposal was endorsed earlier this month by EU member governments. The European Council now plans to adopt it as a regulation, and it will enter into force after publication in the Official Journal of the EU, the statement notes.

The immobilized assets had generated €3.4 billion ($3.7 billion) in interest as of mid-July, according to Brussels-based central securities depository Euroclear, which holds most of Russia's funds. In July, a transfer of €1.5 billion ($1.6 billion) of that money was approved by the European Commission to support Ukraine's "military capabilities."

The US previously expressed concern that the EU policy of reviewing Russia sanctions every six months makes repayment of the loan uncertain as it could result in a lapse in restrictions. In response, Brussels proposed extending the renewal timeframe to three years. Hungary opposed the idea and said it would delay a decision until after the US presidential election on November 5.

Kiev's Western backers have been trying to accelerate negotiations over the loan due to mounting concern that Washington's aid to the country could be cut off if Donald Trump returns to the White House, Financial Times reported last week. The former US president has repeatedly threatened to scale back assistance if he is elected.

Moscow maintains that any seizure of its funds is illegal under international law and would further undermine global trust in the Western financial system.
Beyond the initial theft, has the US and cohorts analyzed the future financial and global fallout from these actions? Unlikely. It's not Biden's concern.

How to lose friends and alienate sponsors: Zelensky is making enemies in America

Zelensky
© Michael Kappeler/Global Look PressUkrainian President Vladimir Zelensky • New York City • 23 September 2024
An attempt to ensure bipartisan support after the US presidential election produced inconclusive results for the Ukrainian leader.

The US presidential election campaign is entering its final stretch ahead. The outcome is crucial to many of Washington's foreign partners but particularly for the current government in Kiev.

At the end of September, Vladimir Zelensky made another visit to America. Officially coinciding with "UN Week" and a speech at the General Assembly, Zelensky's six-day trip was primarily focused on one existential issue for his administration - securing continued financial and military support from Washington, regardless of the election results in November.

However, achieving this goal proved far more challenging than anticipated. Even Ukraine's well-oiled PR machine, honed over a decade, struggled to navigate the increasingly polarized American political landscape without incurring damage.

Comment: Zelensky burned both brain and bridges long ago. Does he not realize it has never been about Ukraine?

Bill Gates says privately he donated $50m to Kamala Harris campaign

Bill Gates has reportedly said privately that he recently donated $50m to a non-profit organization supporting Kamala Harris's US presidential run, remarking: "This election is different". Three people briefed on the matter told the New York Times: "The donation was meant to stay under wraps."

Such a donation would mark a significant shift for the billionaire and Microsoft co-founder, who has historically steered clear of publicly taking political stances.

In private calls this year to friends, Gates, who has not publicly endorsed Harris and does not have a deep relationship with her, has reportedly "expressed concern about what a second Donald Trump presidency would look like," a source familiar with the matter told the New York Times.

The Bill & Melinda Gates philanthropic foundation has allegedly expressed serious apprehension over possible reductions in family planning and global health initiatives should Trump secure the presidency, two sources with close ties to the foundation told the newspaper.

Comment: Commitment to healthcare...Kamala? He knows damn well her ineffectualness is his 'Gateway' to uncontested control.

BRICS not aiming to 'defeat the dollar'

brics

BRICS member states are not targeting the US dollar or other currencies, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti on Tuesday. According to him, the group's members are cooperating in pursuit of their own interests.

Peskov dismissed speculation in the Western media that the participants of this week's BRICS Summit in Kazan intend to discuss a "plan to defeat the dollar." An article published in The Economist on Sunday claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to "build a new global financial-payments system to attack America's dominance of global finance and shield Russia and its pals from sanctions."

Peskov responded:
"Cooperation within BRICS is not directed against anyone or anything - neither against the dollar nor against other currencies. It pursues the main goal of ensuring the interests of those countries that participate in this format."
Earlier this year, the Russian Finance Ministry revealed that Russia was working on creating a settlement-and-payment infrastructure together with the central banks of BRICS member states. The new financial system - the 'BRICS Bridge' platform - will be designed for settlements in national currencies and will be independent of the dominance of third parties.

Comment: Aiming to defeat the dollar? Of course not. The US has done that itself.
Boosting trade settlements in national currencies between members of the BRICS group is a strategic necessity, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, adding that a shift from the US dollar would strengthen financial independence and reduce geopolitical risks.

Russia is currently hosting the 16th annual BRICS Summit in the city of Kazan. The group comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, as well as new members Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the UAE, which joined in January.

Speaking on Tuesday with the president of the BRICS New Development Bank, Dilma Rousseff, Putin emphasized that the use of local currencies instead of the dollar or euro "helps to keep economic development free from politics as far as possible in the context of today's world."

The unprecedented US-led sanctions campaign against Moscow due to the Ukraine conflict has forced Russia and other BRICS members to seek alternative ways to pursue trade. Russia's leading banks were banned outright from the SWIFT international payment system back in 2022 as part of the restrictions.

Last month, Putin said that Russia was already actively switching to the use of national currencies in cross-border trade with its BRICS partners, and that the group's members were jointly developing a payment and settlement framework to be used in trading.

In August, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that over 95% of mutual settlements between Russia and its biggest trading partner, China, are carried out using the ruble or yuan.

Earlier this month, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said New Delhi was looking to secure its interests and find "workarounds" in settlements with global partners, including Russia.

Was Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar the Palestinian Geronimo?

The recent killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is a perfect example of understanding all that is wrong with Western policies in the region. Every leader the Israelis kill reminds the world of past transgressions to freedom.

For the Palestinians, the only chance of peace and a future is through a much broader conflict in the Middle East. The Western media will not ever acknowledge the true causes of the chaos in the region. The U.S./Israeli/EU strategies currently being carried out can only lead to a much more violent and catastrophic conflict.

To Be American

People ask me all the time whether or not I hate my own country because my views do not agree with the blanket propaganda that blots out the truth about world conflicts. It saddens me that very few of my countrymen even question, "Why?" To Americans, the death of Sinwar is just another victory for the poor Israelis surrounded by countless enemies with evil and malice against Jews. To most Westerners, anyone classified as a terrorist or even an enemy of the current liberal order is just that, a lunatic with a similar killing indiscriminately and without cause — end of story, and Hurrah for Bibi Netanyahu and Co.

But, if we ask what led Yahya Sinwar or dozens of others to take up arms against the Israelis, eventually, we are labelled Anti-Semites or Jew haters. Perhaps this is why most Americans don't bother to think about the people of Gaza being exterminated. Western PR astroturf simply covers the more profound thought and investigation to discover who people like Yahya Sinwar are and what motivates them. It seems appropriate here to take a closer look at the man Israel says their child soldiers stumbled on and killed the other day. This Wikipedia citation offers insight by giving the busy American or British online scribe the "simple" answer:
"By launching the deadliest attack in Israel's history, Sinwar triggered a war with Israel that resulted in widespread destruction, casualties, and destabilization of the Middle East."
In the America I grew up in, we studied free speech and open discussion of every subject. We were taught to question. Somehow, we no longer try to discover the opposing view or moderate the "truths" set before us. True American wonders when a sea of blood flows from one people when another group receives a flesh wound.

New centers of power, sovereign equality and Western coercion: What's in the BRICS Kazan Declaration

BRICS 2024 in Kazan
Russian President Vladimir Putin at an expanded meeting of BRICS leaders in Kazan, Russia, October 23, 2024
The document outlines the group's vision for global governance, economic development, and international cooperation.
The BRICS nations approved a joint communique on Wednesday during the group's three-day summit in the Russian city of Kazan. The document addresses multiple global crises and challenges and calls for a fairer and more just international order.

New centers of power

The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a multipolar world order where all nations have an equal say in global affairs. This is reflected in the declaration's call for greater representation of emerging and developing countries in international institutions.
"We note the emergence of new centers of power, policy decision-making, and economic growth, which can pave the way for a more equitable, just, democratic, and balanced multipolar world order," the document stated, adding that this system would be more beneficial to developing countries than the current Western-led international order.
The BRICS countries welcomed the growing influence of regional organizations such as the African Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). These organizations are viewed as important platforms for promoting economic cooperation, security, and cultural exchange among their member states. The declaration also called for a strengthened World Trade Organization to resolve trade disputes and an expanded UN Security Council to provide greater representation for the Global South.

Comment: BRICS is seen by the majority of the world as the place to be. A place where the sovereignty of the individual member states is respected along with international law. It is clearly not the place for those who believe in the globalist 'rules based order' and the use of sanctions and blackmail to push hegemonic interests.
