Sales by US arms manufacturers soar after 100 days of the West's proxy-war against Russia in Ukraine

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has boosted sales of US arms manufacturers, making them the biggest winners in the otherwise catastrophic situation.

Kiev's Western allies pledged to equip Ukraine with some of the advanced weapons Kiev has longed for, including a variety of light and heavy guns, armored military vehicles and advanced rocket systems.

The US alone has already provided $4.6 billion in military aid to the Kiev government since Russia launched its "special military operation" in February 2022.

Total Propaganda

Uncle Sam
© Activist Post
It is essential for the budding propagandist to understand that effective propaganda has to be total propaganda. There is no use in implementing your message in piecemeal way - a bit of a campaign here, a bit there, some in this quarter some in that.

No. This will not be effective.

A blanket approach is needed, utilising all media and all institutions that the propagandist has under his influence. This is modern propaganda.

Each medium has its own particular ways of penetrating the lives and minds of the people and each medium has to be utilised together, in a dovetail fashion, each complimenting and reinforcing the other. Print media, social media, mainstream media, even breakaway independent media should be captured and scripted for the dissemination and amplification of the broad propaganda message.

Every direction a person looks, every voice he hears, should present him with the propaganda message from whatever strata of society he comes from. Each medium finely tuned to break down resistance and garner message acceptance in the emotions, intellect and the social fabric.

Comment: This is a depth of understanding most folks never attain.

India's top diplomat reminded the West that the world doesn't revolve around it

Jaishankar

By calling a spade a spade and publicly discussing the open secret that all countries are primarily driven by the pursuit of what their leaderships sincerely regard as their objective national interests, MEA Jaishankar is doing a global service by removing the taboo that's informally surrounded any talk about this fact.

Minister of External Affairs (MEA) Jaishankar reaffirmed his credentials as one of the world's top multipolar conservative-sovereigntists (MCS) after reminding the West during an event on Friday that the world doesn't revolve around it. He was speaking at the Slovakian GLOBSEC think tank and responding to questions about his civilization-state's foreign policy in the New Cold War when he said that "Europe has to get out of the mindset that Europe's problem is the world's problem but the world's problem is not Europe's problem." For as simple as that statement might be, it was extremely powerful coming from a rising Global South Great Power like India, which has proudly refused to submit to US-led Western pressure to publicly condemn Russia for its ongoing special military operation in Ukraine and subsequently sanction it.

Nikolai Patrushev: Truth is on our side - about the timing of the Special Operation

The special operation in Ukraine brought to a climax the confrontation between Russia and Western countries led by the United States. The battles are going on not only in the vastness of Ukraine, but also in the economic, political and cultural planes. What threats are facing Russia and how long can the special operation continue, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev told AiF.

What Is the West Trying to Do?

Gleb Ivanov, AiF.ru: Nikolai Platonovich, the United States and other Western states are openly demonizing Russia, switching to direct insults. What is it connected with?

- Nikolai Patrushev: The style of the Anglo-Saxons has not changed for centuries. And so today they continue to dictate their terms to the world, boorishly trampling on the sovereign rights of states. Covering their actions with words about the struggle for human rights, freedom and democracy, they are actually implementing the doctrine of the "golden billion", which suggests that a limited number of people can flourish in this world. The destiny of the rest, as they believe, is to bend their backs in the name of their goal.

In order to increase the welfare of a handful of magnates in the City of London and Wall Street, the governments of the United States and United Kingdom, controlled by big capital, are creating an economic crisis in the world, dooming millions of people in Africa, Asia and Latin America to starvation, limiting their access to grain, fertilizers and energy resources. By their actions they are provoking unemployment and a migration catastrophe in Europe. Uninterested in the prosperity of European states, they are doing everything to make them disappear from the pedestal of economically developed countries. And for unconditional control over this region, the Europeans were put on a chair with two legs called NATO and the EU, disdainfully watching how they balance.

White House praises Saudi crown prince ahead of expected Biden trip

The White House took the rare step of recognizing the role played by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in extending a ceasefire in Yemen on Thursday ahead of what is expected to be a trip to Riyadh by President Joe Biden.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that bin Salman and Saudi King Salman deserved credit for their roles in the truce extension announced earlier in the day.
"This truce would not be possible without the cooperative diplomacy from across the region. We specifically recognize the leadership of King Salman and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia in helping consolidate the truce."
As recently as Wednesday the White House said Biden still felt bin Salman was a "pariah" for what U.S. intelligence says was his role in the killing and dismembering of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey in 2018.

Comment: At minimum 377,000 Yemeni died in the long war (2014-2022) that includes those succumbed to famine. Biden claims the Saudis deserve credit. The Khashoggi murder, in contrast, is still sorely remembered.

Arms sent to Ukraine will end up in criminal hands, says Interpol chief

weapontraining

Weapons sent to Ukraine after Russia's invasion in February will end up in the global hidden economy and in the hands of criminals, the head of Interpol has said.

Jürgen Stock says once the conflict ends, a wave of guns and heavy arms will flood the international market and he urged Interpol's member states, especially those supplying weapons, to cooperate on arms tracing.
"Once the guns fall silent [in Ukraine], the illegal weapons will come. We know this from many other theatres of conflict. The criminals are even now, as we speak, focusing on them.

"Criminal groups try to exploit these chaotic situations and the availability of weapons, even those used by the military and including heavy weapons. These will be available on the criminal market and will create a challenge. No country or region can deal with it in isolation because these groups operate at a global level.

"We can expect an influx of weapons in Europe and beyond. We should be alarmed and we have to expect these weapons to be trafficked not only to neighbouring countries but to other continents."
He said Interpol urged members to use its database to help "track and trace" the weapons.
"We are in contact with member countries to encourage them to use these tools. Criminals are interested in all kinds of weapons ... basically any weapons that can be carried might be used for criminal purposes."

Comment: Once again the US has overplayed its hand pumping weapons into Ukraine - a congressional knee jerk reaction with no assurances of post-war accountability. Or was that the plan? Some members are rudely awakening it seems:
The Pentagon versus Congress is causing tension over monitoring billions in Ukraine aid - with the former struggling to keep up with oversight of its spending. A key barometer will be the Pentagon's handling and complete accounting of the funds, which has lagged in other areas, sparking scrutiny from congressional committees.

Concerns are mounting on Capitol Hill about the Biden administration's ability to properly account for the unprecedented wave of cash and to track the thousands of U.S. weapons heading to Ukraine for its war with Russia. And given the Pentagon's recent track record concerning congressional oversight, it's coming under increased scrutiny from members of both parties — from progressive Elizabeth Warren to libertarian Rand Paul.

The White House is hoping the latest emergency funding measure is enough to sustain Ukraine through the next several months of the conflict, but Congress is already bracing for the next cash fight.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), a member of the Armed Services Committee, acknowledged that U.S. weapons sent to war zones have often gone missing or unused, but said "Ukraine is a different story" because its forces are well-trained and have been using the weapons for several years already.

African Union wants Russian sanctions lifted

Western sanctions against Russia threaten Africa with a food security crisis, the head of the African Union (AU) and Senegalese President Macky Sall said during a meeting, in Sochi, on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He advocated the abolition of restrictions that apply to Russian grain crops and mineral fertilizers.
"Sanctions against the Russian Federation have exacerbated the situation because we no longer have access to grain, especially wheat from Russia, and most importantly, to fertilizers, which poses a serious threat to food security on the continent."
He pointed out two major problems, the global food crisis and anti-Russia sanctions, and said those problems needed to be worked out so that food products, in particular grains and fertilizers, are removed from the sanctions list.

President Putin, meanwhile, said that Russian-African relations are currently at a new stage of development, which is very important for both sides.
"I would like to remind that our country has always been on the side of Africa, supported Africa in the fight against colonialism."
According to Putin, the volume of bilateral trade between Russia and the continent has been growing and is up by more than 34% in the first months of this year.

Comment: Backfire? Washington would deserve it!
The continued Western sanctions on Russia will hurt the global economy and could exacerbate problems in the US itself, Anatoly Antonov, Russia's ambassador to Washington, has warned.
"The declared measures are yet another testament to Washington's Russophobic hysteria. They go hand in hand with the attempts to blame Russia for global economic imbalances, including the increase in fuel prices. The flawed restrictions policies will only make world affairs worse. They will lead to new supply chain disruptions and impact food security."
The Russian envoy added that, even facing sanctions, Moscow is ready to service its debts without delays. Washington's attempts to derail this process "will only undermine the trust in the US."
Mistakes? Or was a food crisis part of the plan?
The looming global food crisis that could result from skyrocketing food prices was enabled by a series of policy mistakes by Washington and Brussels, Maksim Oreshkin, economic adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told RT. The conflict in Ukraine alone could not have caused the crisis on such a massive scale.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization's international food price index shows that between April 2020 and April 2022, global food prices rose by more than 60%. The increase occurred for the most part before February 2022, when Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine.

In the four years from 2016 to 2020, the index grew by less than 7 points, but it increased by a whopping 27 points, from 98.1 to 125.7, in 2020-21. After the second year of the pandemic, the index stood at 141.1.

Since Russia's military operation began, the index has risen by a further 17 points.
"Swings like that, with such huge increases in prices, are not happening due to one reason. It's always a combination of a number of reasons which is leading to such a result."
He points to America's overreaction to the Covid-19 pandemic as one of the first major factors that triggered the food price hikes. Since February 2020, the US "increased the money supply by almost 40%," he said, adding that the $6 trillion the US printed to support its economy ended up flooding global markets, and led to the rise in food, commodity and energy prices.

Europe's over-reliance on renewable energy, which drew resources away from food production, and on short-term gas contracts that led to gas price hikes in late 2021, are also significant factors. Up to 4% of biofuel in Germany is made from food and animal feed.

Oreshkin said these factors also led to a decrease in fertilizer production, which in turn hit harvests and drove up food prices. The waves of sanctions unleashed by the US and its allies on Moscow after the start of the military operation in Ukraine significantly exacerbated the crisis.

According to Oreshkin, the 20 million tons of wheat supposedly blocked in Ukraine account for 2.5% of global wheat production. He also stated that Russia is prepared to export 13 million more tons this year than in 2021.

He also pointed to global food inequality as a root cause. "In reality, there is enough food on this planet," but developed nations such as the US are simply consuming much more food than the others around the world.
"They're printing the money, they're taking all the food, and of course they are taking the food from those who cannot afford it. If countries like the United States consume less, there will be enough food for everyone."

Best of the Web: Bilderberg Transhumanists meet in Washington to discuss containing China

When Davos and Bilderberg messenger boys look at The Grand Chessboard, they realize that their era of perpetual free lunch is over
White House

Discreetly, as under the radar as a looming virus, the 68th Bilderberg meeting is currently underway in Washington, D.C. Nothing to see here. No conspiracy theories about a "secret cabal", please. This is just a docile, "diverse group of political leaders and experts" having a chat, a laugh, and a bubbly.

Still, one cannot but notice that the choice of venue speaks more volumes than the entire - burned to the ground - Library of Alexandria. In the year heralding the explosion of a much-awaited NATO vs. Russia proxy war, discussing its myriad ramifications does suit the capital of the Empire of Lies, much more than Davos a few weeks ago, where one Henry Kissinger sent them into a frenzy by advancing the necessity of a toxic compromise named "diplomacy".

Comment: Escobar seems to imply that China/Russia would respond militarily to the US 'overturning the chessboard' financially. This is unlikely, as that would entail M.A.D. Instead, the US is likely to capitalize - pun intended - on China's exposure to American debt (as the world's largest holder of US Treasury bonds) by seizing Chinese foreign reserves (in the event that Beijing retakes Taiwan by force because the US has provoked it into doing so - same M.O. as we recently saw in Ukraine).

This is why the US has been so fiscally irresponsible in recent decades: its owners don't care because, as far as they're concerned, 'no one is going to take our place'. The above comment from a top Chinese economist about how they are "not ready for a hot [financial/trade] war as the US and Chinese economies are so closely linked"... is precisely why the System Controllers are going to exploit that weak point.

The range of rocket launchers supplied by the US will be up to the Ukrainians, Washington's new ambassador, Bridget Brink, said after taking up her post in Kiev on Thursday. President Joe Biden himself denied the US was enabling Ukraine to strike Russia, while Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Kiev had made a promise to that effect as well.

Brink held a press conference on Thursday, after presenting her credentials to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, declaring that her mission in Kiev was to "help Ukraine prevail against Russian aggression."

Russia is winning the economic war - and Putin is no closer to withdrawing troops

VPutin

The perverse effects of sanctions means rising fuel and food costs for the rest of the world - and fears are growing of a humanitarian catastrophe. Sooner or later, a deal must be made...

It is now three months since the west launched its economic war against Russia, and it is not going according to plan. On the contrary, things are going very badly indeed.

Sanctions were imposed on Vladimir Putin not because they were considered the best option, but because they were better than the other two available courses of action: doing nothing or getting involved militarily.

The first set of economic measures were introduced immediately after the invasion, when it was assumed Ukraine would capitulate within days. That didn't happen, with the result that sanctions - while still incomplete - have gradually been intensified.
