It's all about optics. So tiresome.
Every news bulletin these days is like some plot for a new James Bond novel. You know the thing: Monster leader and his OCG members create a plot to nuke an entire country with the final scenes of melt down five minutes before the end. As predictable and cleche ridden as fragile female goes into a dark factory to find her killer five minutes before the end. Why doesn't she switch the light on?
But our Bond style hero sorts it all out. And not only that he can make money out of selling shares.
Our MPs used to write thriller novels in their spare time (and they had a lot of it. They never had to think about their votes because on such they were instructed or sidelined) Now I think there is a committee of MPs that writes the next three months news plots.
I am almost nostalgic for my old local newspaper that used to consider 'Cat goes missing' as a good headline.
