The call came from Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen during the official launch of Denmark's EU Council Presidency on July 3, as reported by European Pravda correspondent.
"If there are any gaps in weapons supplies, I believe we must fill them," Frederiksen said. "Over a year ago, we established a model to support defense production directly inside Ukraine. It's working very well."
According to her, Ukraine is currently manufacturing "faster, better, and cheaper than anyone else" and still has unused production capacity in its defense sector.
"That's why we need additional financial support from other European countries to scale up production inside Ukraine," Frederiksen emphasized.
At the same time, Denmark is exploring the option of relocating part of Ukraine's defense production to partner countries in Europe. "We are looking into ways to support Ukrainian manufacturing beyond its borders — including right here in Denmark," she said.
Earlier, Denmark vowed to apply "maximum pressure" on Hungary to remove its blockade of Ukraine's EU accession talks, as Copenhagen assumes the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.
