Three people are wanted after 12 people were injured in a shooting at a Toronto pub Friday night, police said.
The shooting occurred around 10:39 p.m. at the Piper Arms near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive, Toronto police said, which is in the Scarborough section of the city.
The gunmen opened fire at patrons as they entered the pub, police said.
There were no deaths, and all injuries are non-life threatening, police said, adding that six of the victims had suffered gunshot wounds. All victims were taken to hospitals to receive medical attention.
The three people wanted by police are all male. A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
"One had an assault rifle," police Superintendent Paul McIntyre said early Saturday morning. "The other two had guns."
McIntyre said the gunmen had masks over the faces during the shooting, and that he had "no idea" where they are.
"We're chasing down all leads," he said. "I can tell you, this was a brazen and reckless act of violence that's really shaken our community and the city itself."
Video from CTV showed first responders wheeling one patient on a gurney to an ambulance, and heavily armed police at the scene.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said in a statement posted to social media that all police resources have been deployed.
"I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough. I have spoken to Chief Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed," Chow said, referring to Toronto Chief of Police Myron Demkiw.
"This is an early and ongoing investigation — police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families," she said.
Toronto police said there will be an increased police presence in the area surrounding the pub and are urging anyone with information or video to contact them.

hmmm. let's sit in our thinking chair with our notebook and think, think, think. (i used to watch blue's clues with my kids twenty some years ago lol)
the first thing that smells fishy, besides mayor chow, is: there were no fatalities.
so were these male masked shooters competent bad guys intent on killing or was it a false flag drama ?
false flag life ? really ? well how do you think the gov't justifies stealing your pew pews ?
if they were trained shooters with centre-fired pistols, and a c-f rifle, there would be many dead, even if they shot into the crowd's legs.
so ?
so it's likely a .22LR rifle and pistols were used. Why won't the po-po tell us the number and type of cartridges found at the scene ? Whether cartridges were recovered is another question entirely. IF no cartridges were recovered it's likely the pistols were .22LR revolvers and the "assault rifle" was shown for booga booga. why ? do they think they'll get into a firefight with the Taliban or the Russians ? !
when the government takes away the firearms of law-abiding citizens you know it's not for the safety of the general population ... just ask Mao, Stalin, Hitler, etc...
There are no real .22LR "assault rifles". This cartridge is far too weak even for a proper repeating mechanism, being it a simple recoil operation or gas-operated. Whe shot such a thing in our youth, as training weapon. Unreliable, inaccurate, and ineffective - but that thing looked and handled like an AK-47, which was its whole purpose of existence.
"Assault rifle" is more of a colloquial term, referring to military automatic weapons for short and medium distances, up to maybe 300 yards. They usually qualify as carbines. More likely.
But remember, "journalists" are morons. They have no clue of anything, including firearms. And no, I'm not joking.
yeah, i remember sometime ago you told me about that AK pea-shooter you trained with back in the day, i also recall you mentioning something about how much you enjoyed the comfortable fitting uniform : )
and yes they jam a lot - some manufacturers like Mossberg, S&W, GSG (now owned by SIG) make these plastic looking style rifles using aluminum / magnesium alloys and fiber reinforced plastics to lighten up the internals and bolt's components ... but the bolt gets dirty quick, and burnt .22 ammo is filthy stuff, coating everything in carbon crud, so the spring/pin, after a while often doesn't have the energy to completely squish the metal and detonate the primer between the metal rim.
surely you jest, journalists - morons ?! no !!!! ; )
Having watched 1000s of cop and law shows, this fits the plot of money owed, by the people who opened the bar. It was a message. Fortunately no one died. Just gaggle Toronto shootings, there was another big shootout there in November and apparently there is also a vulture (tow truck driver, they sit on overpass during rush hour, preying on victims of car troubles) war going on.
walked into a busy Burger King to use the facilities ... heads turned, i mean ALL heads watched me walk into the loo... like they'd never seen a white guy before.
it was a quick pee ! smile and hat tip to the staff as i left, no one smiled.
They changed the speed limits everywhere. When Peel Police replace the rcmp at Pearson?
The city is definitely being geared into a 15min city.
Uhg. I hate it.
I love golfing up to midnight.
To mess with the millennials , I'll give them the imperial temp F. I love seeing the confusion in their eyes.
Yes better GUN CONTROL ... is on the Government menu.
It's become a thug life city. The Greater Toronto Area, GTA, is now like the video game GTA.
Trudeau enacts last-minute ban on 200 more firearms. Two days before the Liberals vote for a new leader, the Trudeau government added nearly 200 firearm models to its "mandatory buyback" program, first introduced in 2020 to confiscate guns.
do you know what the government can do to citizens when "legal to own firearms" have been confiscated ?
any thing they want.
