Earth Changes
The quake hit 1.24 miles east-northeast of West Seneca, New York, with a depth of 1.86 miles around 6:15 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said no damage reports have been received so far in West Seneca, a suburb of Buffalo that sits near the U.S.-Canada border.
He added he spoke with the Erie County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services' Deputy Commissioner Gregory J. Butcher, who said a "confirmed quake was felt as far north as Niagara Falls and south to Orchard Park."
"It felt like a car hit my house in Buffalo. I jumped out of bed," Poloncarz said.
Yaareb Altaweel, a seismologist at the National Earthquake Information Center, said Northeast earthquakes "happen all the time" and quakes can strike anywhere at any time.
Since 1983, there have been 24 earthquakes above a magnitude of 2.5 in the West Seneca region, with Monday's being the largest so far in the area.
Altaweel said there was another 3.8-magnitude quake that took place in 1999 in western New York.
"On a scale of earthquakes, 3.8 isn't that big. But the crust in that region is old crust. It's old and cold and the efficiency of transferring the seismic waves versus sedimentary areas — that's why people can feel it more. That's why earthquakes can be felt even at 1.0 in some places," Altaweel explained.
Altaweel said that a 3.8-magnitude quake is "not a big earthquake that you'd expect damage from."
Pre-existing fractures and fault lines can be the cause of earthquakes hitting so far inland, he said.
Altaweel said there's nothing abnormal about this shock.
"I'd say it's very normal. There was one, a 2.6 in March 2022. There was another 2 in 2020. These keep happening in this region at low magnitude," he explained.
Across the globe,an initial 7.8-magnitude earthquake in southeastern Turkey was followed hours later by a 7.5-magnitude quake that shook buildings and left more than 2,200 people dead in the country and neighboring Syria. The toll is expected to rise sharply on both sides of the border.

I mean it has been one thing after another. Snowstorms, big ones, mean ones over the last few months, the Bill's suffer the loss of a fine player to cardiac arrest on the field of play resulting essentially in the end of their season's hopes, and it turns out the couple who "owns" the team, the female partner (Ms. Pegula) had a cardiac arrest event in June 22 as well for which they had been silent. And NOW an effing earthquake! Fuck me - Buffalo can take it, but if somebody or something afoul is at fault here, there is going to be hell to pay.

I suppose relatively speaking, considering the horrible tragedy in Turkey , it ain't no big deal, but I think there is something rotten afoot and in the air, and I think there will be consequences to any nefarious forces out there fucking with the city I love even if I have given up on the NFL.

Man - stuff comes in bunches sometimes don't it?
Ken
Thank you for your kindness.
It is lit - it has two wicks.
" Cinnamon Cheers " it what the label says....
Blessings to you and please pray for Buffalo - it has had more than its fair share lately, but I suppose it is important to keep things in perspective.
With Respect,
Ken
She is the love of my life.
Hey - check this out:
[Link] - from the site you suggested many moons ago - I don't know what to make of it. It could be man-made, but I think it just speaks to electrical forces not well understood.

Hugs are good
As for your observation, I have no immediate answer.
There has been a significant development and these atmospheric events inevitably immigrate down to lower atmospheric levels with an adverse effect.
The difference in poles would under " normal " circumstances suggest that an active process was in place so as to create such a polarised effect. One would then naturally look for something that could insert such an influence upon Earth and result in one's observations.
In the absence of an external influence, one then has to consider an internal mechanism that is influenced by something at distance.
It is fair to say that Earth's text book atmosphere has left the planet and one is now left wondering as to what's going to happen next.
I'm still going to go back and check the data from previous years, and if this phenomenon is an "anomaly", then that is telling even if it is not understood presently.
I had to blow the candle out because it was from Christmas time and it is almost burned to the bottom - so for the sake of safety and whatnot, I blew both wicks out.
Hey....some of the wax melted, so I'm gonna re-light the candle.....take my word for it, when I say I am going to do something I mean it because serious business is what is happening in 23, and I'm not kidding around.
Best to you,
Ken
Here is a link from 2020 maybe.....I don't know really - there is uncertainty as there always is: [Link]

bottom line besides love is there is uncertainty, and I've learned to live with it, in fact it has been a focus of my life....my master thesis when I came up with the idea of the "value of perfect information".....as a concept, or at least maybe I did - who cares because what difference does it make now?

Other bottom line is in the stratosphere, this time of year, for the last few years at least, the winds over Antartica blow in a big circle, so maybe "they" (whoever the eff they are) ought send some balloons there for some fine spinning in the wind time assuming no dipshits shoot the balloons down.

Pray for Buffalo because the Buffalo Know and they know what happened, they know about the carcasses, they are most displeased, but they want justice. From the soul of the Buffalo or from the Buffalo roaming in peace. You choose what you want, but the buffalo, the herds of them, that not a one of us alive today will get to witness in person.....they know.
I've also noticed the unrelenting development of Cold air in the Northern hemisphere, if current development continues then the end of February looks disastrous for the UK , Europe, Asia and Africa.
I also have sighted 2023 as a pivotal year and they'll be no going back to the good old days.
So keep safe Ken and let's see what develops.

Definitely seems activity at the poles is "unstable" in some way, but I suppose this is to be expected on occasion.
I think if there is honest and transparent discourse, then together solutions can be found because there can be no denying the power of humans when they choose to work together.

Ken
