A Texas mom who needlessly put her healthy son through hundreds of doctors' visits — including 13 major surgeries that left him wheelchair-bound and with a feeding tube — has been jailed for six years.

Kaylene Bowen-Wright, 36, claimed son Christopher was sick starting from his premature birth, claiming he had a rare genetic disorder and then later cancer that left him with only months to live.

By the time Christopher was 8 years old, his mom had taken him to Dallas hospitals and pediatric centers more than 320 times and subjected him to 13 unneeded surgeries, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

He lived with a feeding tube for the majority of his life, spent time in a wheelchair and was even in hospice care, the paper said, with his two siblings convinced he was dying.

At least one of the invasive procedures he endured — having a feeding tube implanted directly into his small intestine — led to multiple life-threatening blood infections, the paper noted, citing court documents.

Bowen-Wright pleaded guilty in August to causing serious bodily injury to a child, with her attorneys suggesting she suffers from Munchausen syndrome by proxy and requesting therapy rather than jail time, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Prosecutors, however, requested at least eight years in prison — the length of time she subjected her son to the unnecessary surgeries.

"She stole Christopher's childhood," lead prosecutor Jennifer Sawyer said, according to the Morning News. "It's hard to even say where her victims stop," Sawyer said, stressing that his family and friends also suffered, thinking the youngster was dying.

After the disturbed mom was sentenced to six years in prison on Friday, Christopher's father, Ryan Crawford, was left wiping away tears, the Morning News said.

"I'm glad there was a judge that was able to stand up for Christopher," Crawford told the paper of his son, who is now 10 and living in his care.
