The great white shark attacks the vessel out at sea
Shocking drone footage caught the moment a great white shark tries to take a chunk out of a fishing boat off the Australian south coast.

The video shows the 15-foot long beast eyeing up the small boat 16km off the coast of Coffin Bay, west of Adelaide.

A fisherman tries to frighten off the shark as it circles the crabbing boat.

Simon Lawrence and Blair Fitzgerald are on board the vessel and are heard swearing as the shark makes its close encounter.

From high above the action, the shark is seen at the rear of the boat, perilously close to its two engines.

SHARK ATTACK
It then tries to bite the boat as one man is heard saying the huge shark is 'p***ed off'.

The fishermen told 9NEWS they were fishing for crabs when they saw one of the crab pots begin to move.

Not wanting to lose it to the shark, they launched their drone and followed the shark for five minutes.

'Normally they pop their head up and swim away but this one was pretty keen to come back and get his pot,' Mr Fitzgerald said.

The shark was filmed chewing the boat's motors and attacking GPS equipment.

Mr Lawrence claimed it was the most aggressive shark he's ever seen.

'More aggressive than I've ever had, I've been doing this 12 years now... I've never seen one go the boat like that, he wasn't happy until he got that pot back,' he said.
