A prep school math teacher charged with having sexual contact with three students is expected to make her first court appearance on Monday.

Erin McAuliffe, 25, has been charged with three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor according to the court system website.

Police say the Rocky Mount Prep teacher was accused of having an inappropriate relationship off-campus with three boys who went to the school.

Rocky Mount officials say that one of the students was 16 and two were 17.

The head of the public charter school said McAuliffe's last day of employment at the school was May 4th.

A phone listing for her was disconnected and police didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment Sunday.

A high school math teacher is in jail on the last day of school. Rocky Mount police have charged Erin McAuliffe with three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.

The 25-year-old taught at Rocky Mount Preparatory School, which is a public charter school.

Police say a month ago they were notified by school administrators that a teacher was possibly having sexual contact with three underage male students off school property.

Numerous students and faculty were interviewed by police and they obtained warrants against McAuliffe on Thursday.

The teacher was placed in the Carteret County jail on a $20,000 secured bond and has a first court appearance on Monday.

Rocky Mount Prep said McAuliffe was fired on May 8th. "We have been fully cooperative with local law enforcement during the course of their handling of this matter," a statement from the school said.
