Sad. So much grief everywhere. But perspective...
Children of war grieve in a similar fashion for their dead parents whose death they may have witnessed. Too much war. For some reason, men in particular enjoy doing battle.
Humanity's way of living is the culprit. This Monkey's mother was run down by a human driver driving one of our modern inventions. Every day I see the carcasses of animals killed by passing cars. Last week I saw four dead badgers on the roadside in a single half hour journey.
Millions of birds die every year from windmill blades and planes and cars.
Time for a conversation about humanity's obligations and responsibilities towards the flora and fauna we are guardians of?
The claim that millions of birds die every year from windmill blades need serious verification.
Birds are not stupid, the do have a brain, and in fact can even use that brain IMHO, on occasion far better than the average human does. They can sense differentiations in air pressure which such wind mills as you refer too, put out in major proportions. If said bird is able to avoid such pressures they actually do, thus surviving for another day. It's an entirely different proposition when there is a storm or windy weather, pressures change dramaticly and feed back to birds is minimized, thus it is possible, birds cannot avoid the blades under such conditions.
However, the FACTS are, your own motor car creates similar pressures and does kill birds under similar conditions, as do planes and trains, even ships. In fact I watched a video last night where said bird collided with a young woman's open mouth and killed BOTH of them.
So at the end of the day, rest easy, what goes around, comes around to all, in the end.
Consciousness comes in all shapes and sizes in varying degrees.
