It's official: Donald Trump wins Electoral College vote amid protests

President-elect Donald Trump has officially secured victory from the Electoral College, amassing votes. Protesters called for electors to "vote your conscience" outside various state houses where each state's November election results were being authenticated.

Around 5:30 p.m. EST on Monday, Trump reached his 270th Electoral College vote, according to the Associated Press. Texas put Trump past the threshold, with 36 of its 38 electors voting for him to reflect the results of the state's November election results. Two "faithless" electors in the Texas delegation voted for former Texas Congressman Ron Paul and Ohio Governor John Kasich, both Republicans.

Ahead of Monday's vote, 306 electors were anticipated to vote for Trump, while the other 232 were pledged to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Comment: The next step: The Electoral College results should be officially certified on January 6, 2017, during a joint session of Congress.

The C's said that Trump would try to make changes, so I was pretty sure that he would get the electoral vote. He did, so on to the next event.

David, I'm not totally convinced the Dims have enough continuity to pull off an insurrection... either small or large... sure, they can set fires to dumpsters, block traffic, picket, etc, etc, etc, but an insurrection normally involves arms or other weapon types... what I saw after 11/8 from the snowflake crowd just isn't going to get it done, if insurrection is the path they are headed down

also, there are equal amounts of folks who are fed up with the snowflake crowd, who voted for a different path on 11/8, and who I doubt would take kindly to their voices not being heard or their wishes not being implemented... in other words, "hey snowflakes, bring it"

Whether they do, or do not have enough 'continuity' to pull it off, may be irrelevant... If they believe they can pull it off, they may well try.

And just as the Roman armies fought against each other during the Roman Civil Wars after the death of Caesar. So the American military, depending on what Trump chooses to do, may fracture with parts helping one side or another. I cannot see the military standing neutral in this.

when the C's conveyed that Trump's chances of winning the election were "good." Wow. Gonna be a whole lotta shakin' goin' on from here on out, though. Hope he has the world's best interests in mind.

Green- vs seasoned-wood horns

In that same session the Cs also said he was " . . . no 'green horn' . . .", which struck me at the time.

Googling later I saw that 'greenhorn' -- "a person who is new to or inexperienced at a particular activity." -- is spelled as one word, not two.

Horns sometimes being made of wood, and purposed to 'amplify' sound and green wood not reasonably being expected to produce the same effect as seasoned wood, and Trump's name being, well, 'Trump' it's no great leap to something of a set of connections there.
