This type of programming only works on a certain subset... which gets smaller and smaller each year the programming gets triggered... 'boy who cried wolf' seems to be in affect. Most people are affected, but not in any conscious way, so the affect isn't like triggering zombie, more like triggering the desire to buy a lotto ticket... it comes and goes quite quickly.
And with the Chicago Cubs winning the 'World Series' in baseball... the programming has to deal with more variables based in expressive joy.... another hit to the program.
