The epicenter of the quake was declared as the Çiçekdağı district of central Kırşehir province.
The tremor was also felt in neighboring Kırıkkale and the capital Ankara, AFAD addded.

An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude has occured in 1938, 19th of April.
I did not know about the faults in this area. So it was quite a surprise for me. Both of my grandparents are from Kırşehir and we used to visit my grandmother in the summer.
