There's a world wide revolution going on. It goes beyond Mississippi, it goes beyond Alabama, it goes beyond Harlem. What is it revolting against? The power structure. The American power structure? No. The French power structure? No. The English power structure? No. Then what power structure? An international, Western power structure.

. . . completely misses the forest for the trees.
Oren points only to trivial cosmetic changes in US behavior, not to anything of substance. What Oren is actually complaining about is that the US occasionally makes essentially meaningless noises that may sound contrary to Israeli policies, even though they are merely an attempt to fool others into believing that we are interested in a just resolution to the ME situation. In essence, he wants the US to overtly display the same (or even greater) level of obsequious deference to Israel and its policies that has been shown by previous administrations.
Unfortunately, in the big picture sense (and in spite of the examples cited), the US (and Obama) still remains the staunchest supporter of Israel. In addition to outrageous amounts of direct and indirect military and economic assistance, the US continues to enable, and provide international cover for, all Israeli repression, aggression, territorial expansion, and other violations of international law and civilized behavior.
