A giant flock of birds invaded the sky in a Houston neighborhood.

It was like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's movie 'The Birds.' A giant flock of birds invaded the sky in a Houston neighborhood.

The birds covered the utility wires and the edges of roofs. The man who shot the video was driving by when he spotted the amazing sight.

What are they?

Starlings? They sound like starlings, fly en masse like starlings, sit evenly spaced like starlings. I'm an avid birdwatcher but do not like starlings! They can be very annoying when they settle on a place.

Well, for what its worth I think they sound a bit more raucous than starlings and the flock is not flying in such a well-coordinated fashion as starlings typically do. Plus, most of the birds have tails that are too long to fit the profile of a starling. Perhaps the majority are red-winged blackbirds? Sounds of same here [Link]

There does seem to be a smaller number of what might be starlings mixed in though (displaying comparatively shorter tails).
