Koppenhaver is a former UFC fighter currently on the run from police after being accused of viciously attacking his ex-girlfriend, adult performer Christy Mack.
"I don't know what exactly went down," Rogan said on his podcast. "People keep asking me to comment on it. This is the only thing I would ever say: Anytime there is an altercation like that between a man and a woman, and a man hits a woman, it's never correct, it's always evil, it's always wrong. It's beyond f***d that a guy could beat a woman. And it should be a heinous crime that is punishable in the worst ways possible."
Koppenhaver is wanted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as the primary suspect in the brutal attack on his former girlfriend, who posted disturbing photos of her injured face and body on Twitter. Mack said that Koppenhaver forced her to strip, punched her, kicked her, cut her hair off with a knife, and threatened to rape her before she was able to escape.
"But I don't know what happened," Rogan said. "All I know is it appears, according to her story, that he beat the s**t out of her. That's what it looks like. There is no evidence to the contrary, and that's awful."
"I don't know how a guy could do that. I literally do not know how a man - especially a martial artist," could do that, he added.
Rogan's guest, Canadian MMA reporter and glam band rocker Robin Black, described Koppenhaver as more of an "animal" than a martial artist.
On Wednesday, the reality TV star known as "Dog the Bounty Hunter" announced he was joining the manhunt for Koppenhaver.

I beg to differ- My uncle was in an abusive relationship. His wife was beating him. He would have to take a sickie from work to visit his twin brother (my Dad).
Also, I have met a number of women who, if they chose, could easily beat the crap out of a lot of men either through skill or strength. (one of these being the US #1 ranked (at the time) female karate champion)
Granted, the situations in which it would be acceptable for a male to violently defend himself from a female are fairly infrequent, but I took exception to the black and white thinking.
Never forget the Rule of Three! There is good, there is evil, and there is the specific context that defines which is which.
