Chicago has some of the strictest "gun control" laws in the US. It is ironic that they also have some of the highest incidence of gun related violence.
Arizona on the other hand, has some of the loosest laws. It is perfectly legal to purchase fully automatic weapons (that are "grandfathered" by federal law) and suppressors (AKA silencers). Arizona is a "right to carry" state, which means you do not need a license to carry around a 9mm on your hip if you so choose (although you can still become Concealed Carry, which is more of a certification than a license). If the gun control lobby is correct, Arizona must have one of the highest incidents of gun violence. Yet we don't. I would like to ask Bloomberg why the statistics between Chicago and Arizona are "backwards" if "gun control" actually works. My bet is that he would not have a answer.
Its not that we do not have gun violence, it is that the criminal element has to think twice because there is a significant probability that the victim is armed and will return or initiate fire.
In a perfect world we would not need or want guns. We do not live in a perfect world.
