At around 5:30 p.m., the officer was responded to complaints of dogs on the loose, which is what he found when he arrived.
Officer Tarek Hassani, of the Filer Police Department, is seen on footage captured by his vehicle's dashcam kicking and yelling at the barking dogs as he attempted to make his way to the front door. When one of the dogs attempted to move around him, the officer shot the 7-year-old black labrador, named "Hooch," at point-blank range.
While the police claim the dog was overly aggressive and needed to be put down, the dog's owner, Rick Clubb, is alleging that the officer was far too trigger happy. Clubb told the Times-News that Hooch was his trained service animal as he suffers from Parkinson's disease.
"He didn't have to pull out his .45 and shoot my dog," he said, also expressing concern that the shooting occurred right outside his son's bedroom window.
Watch the video below, but we warned the content is extremely graphic and disturbing:
Filer Police Chief Tim Reeves said a chihuahua and two large dogs were running around unleashed in the neighborhood when officer Hassani arrived on the scene. The police chief said his officer had no choice but to put the lab down due to the animal's aggressive behavior.
Following the shooting death of his dog, Clubb was given a ticket for allowing his animals to run around unleashed. The ticket reportedly led to a heated exchange between Clubb and Hassani.
"Well, my dog is dead. I don't think that's fair," Clubb said.
The father said he plans to fight the ticket.

This police officer is clearly sick in the head. It's disgusting, would this psycho have any remorse for this kind of behaviour? I doubt it and I find this extremely sad. Christ he just executed the poor dog for barking.
Actually, it seemed to be the tan colored dog that was the agressive one, but the cop was approaching the house and thus the dog went into truf protection mode.... same as the cop, an animal of a different sort.... only the cop, a human, not a psycho apparently or he would have killed it with a smirk, smile or at least a sense of predatory satisfaction, which didn't happen. The cop, once on the scene should have used his horn, lights, siren, etc to get the owners attention, as it seems other dogs were loose in the area and some neighbor was tired of it. This could be seen as the owners of all the dogs fault for not having fencing, which might be due to it being a village or small town, as in most cities these are already required. The dogs are just being dogs, probably not elderly dogs which usually bark and growl from a distance.
The cop didn't know what he was doing.... not the dog type obviously, I'd guess it didn't grow up with them nearby, but simple training could have prevented this. He should have seen the situation and used his siren to get the owners attention, by not doing so, he provoked the situation once entering the dog's domain. The cop is probably a reflection of his department, little training, funding etc.
Come on! use some common sense and RESPECT. Our fellow being in the spotlight is called a Labrador - the use of the contraction only de-humanises this situation. Could you have at least edited this article by giving the word 'punctuation' to show that this is a derogatory statement made by the police chief. Grrrr!

So, a cop is allowed to go on private property, shoot a dog, then demand someone show id without a warrant? What a dick.
