The United States has agreed to provide France with additional airlift capacity to help move troops during the Mali operation, Reuters reported citing an unnamed US official.

In addition to reports that Washington will help French and Malian forces by way of airlift support for getting troops and equipment to the battlefield, CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan tweeted Thursday that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "says US trainers will be on the ground by this wknd to help train African militaries to intervene in Mali."
