Six people were injured -- one of them critically -- when gunfire erupted at a large party at a South Seattle home early Sunday, police and witnesses said.

Officers are now looking for two or three suspects who remain at large.

A Seattle Police spokesman said the shots were fired just before 2 a.m. Sunday at a home on Lindsay Place in South Seattle.

There was a big party there, with nearly 100 people, and as more people arrived, tensions kept rising. Police say they were called to the scene twice earlier in the evening before shots were fired.

Tensions finally came to a head when people started shooting.

One witness, Nicole Kiu, said she'd just gotten to the party when things got crazy.

"We saw people just like running out, and then like 10 minutes later, we came out. And then I saw my friend, and then I see my other friend on a stretcher," she said. "It was just horrible, like people were just crying, screaming ... blood on people's clothes."

When the gunfire ended, six people were hurt. One of them suffered life-threatening injuries.

Several people from the party headed to Harborview Medical Center as their friends arrived for treatment.

As for the gunmen, police say they're looking for two or three shooters.
