The Village of Ruidoso has issued an "immediate evacuation" order after flash flooding was reported on the Rio Ruidoso Sunday afternoon, June 30, the Village of Ruidoso said on its Facebook page.
"Flash flooding is ongoing on the Rio Ruidoso and has the potential to impact the Midtown district. The Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management has issued an immediate evacuation and move to higher ground. Evacuate immediately to higher ground. Do not delay leaving to gather any belongings. Get to higher ground NOW," the Village said in a post.
A shelter is available at White Mountain Relief Center at 687 Hull Road.
The Red Cross is at the shelter with a "fully functioning operation" with shelter and food service, the Village said.
The people of Cozad and Gothenburg are dealing with cleanup after a severe hailstorm Saturday morning.
According to Dawson County Emergency Management Director Brian Woldt, the storm began at around 2 a.m. and lasted for 30 minutes. During that time, baseball-sized hail and wind caused extensive damage to Cozad, with a lesser amount of damage caused to Gothenburg.
Most of the damage was caused to individual home owners, with damage to car windows and households.
A powerful hailstorm ravaged a municipality in southeastern Poland, damaging around 700 homes, multiple cars, and destroying crops.
The severe weather hit the municipality of Dynów last week, with hailstones as large as tennis balls damaging roofs, facades, and smashing windows. The storm, which lasted about 25 minutes, left a trail of destruction in its wake.
Residents have placed losses in the tens of thousands of zlotys, with local authorities pledging assistance for those affected.
A downpour lasting several hours triggered major floods in a host of low-lying areas here and in the neighbouring Penampang district on Sunday (June 30).
There were multiple reports of vehicles unable to pass through several roads as floodwaters continued to rise following heavy rain that started at about noon.
Power has been cut to the areas affected by the floodwaters which started to rise at about 1.30pm.
The situation was also compounded by the high tide at about 4pm, it was learned.
Ferocious storms and torrential rains that lashed France, Switzerland and Italy this weekend have killed seven people, local authorities have said.
Three people in their 70s and 80s died in France's northeastern Aube region on Saturday when a tree crushed the car they were travelling in during fierce winds, the local authority told the AFP news agency on Sunday.
A fourth passenger was in critical care, it added.
In neighbouring Switzerland, four people have died and another two are missing, according to local police, after violent thunderstorms and melting snow caused flooding and landslides in two southern cantons.
Three of the victims were killed early on Sunday in a landslide in the remote Maggia valley, in the Italian-speaking Alpine canton of Ticino, police said in a statement.
The three bodies were recovered in the Fontana area of the Maggia valley and they were currently being identified, while another person was missing in the Lavizzara side arm of the valley, Ticino authorities said.
Viral videos of cars floating in a river in Haridwar surfaced today. According to reports, the water in the river swelled up dramatically following heavy rains, causing many cars to be washed away in the floodwater.
According to some reports, dozens of vehicles parked in the Sukhi River were washed away after heavy rains. News wire agency PTI said rainwater gushed into homes and left major roads in the pilgrimage town waterlogged.
"As the rainfed Sukhi river is generally dry, people habitually park their cars on the dry riverbed. As the river got flooded all of a sudden, the cars were swept away in the swirling waters. The river joins the mainstream of the Ganga a short distance away. People gathered on the bridges over the Ganga near Har ki Pauri to capture the visuals of the floating cars on mobile cameras," it added.

Several parts of the city continue to be waterlogged and many areas experienced prolonged power cuts as Delhi recorded 228.1 mm of rainfall in 24 hours on Friday.
Seven members of a youth group hiking in Utah were transported to hospitals on Thursday after lightning struck the ground near them.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints youth group from Salina, Utah, were in the eastern part of Sevier county at about 1.45pm when a light rain began and the lightning hit, the Sevier county sheriff, Nathan Curtis, said in a statement.
"Approximately 50 youth felt the shock of the lightning," Curtis said, adding that seven of the young people had "medical concerns due to the electrocution".
Two had serious symptoms and were flown by helicopter to the Primary Children's hospital in Lehi, Utah. Five others were transported by ambulances to the Sevier Valley hospital in Richfield and the Gunnison Valley hospital in Gunnison, Curtis said.
None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, according to Curtis, who said the other hikers were returned to their families in Salina, which is 139 miles (223km) south of Salt Lake City.

A 13-year-old beachgoer died after being struck by lightning in northern Greece during a sudden summer rainstorm Friday, authorities said.
A local official said the Greek girl had been swimming with her parents at Faros beach, near Poseidi in Halkidiki, a resort area southeast of Thessaloniki popular with Greek and foreign visitors.
Kassandreia Mayor Anastasia Halkia said the family came out of the sea because it had just started to rain, but the weather deteriorated very quickly.
"There was a lot of lightning," she said. "It's the kind of summer storm that usually doesn't cause any trouble."
Police said the girl was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her parents were uninjured.
