When the presence of an unidentified flying object was reported in the spring of 1950 in the province of Matanzas, the first case of this nature known in Cuba after the start of the flying saucer age, it marked the beginning of a list of sporadic luminous visions, mostly lacking scientific exploration.
Human beings have always harbored the hope - with the understandable doubt - of sharing their existence with other beings of humanoid appearance and a technology developed elsewhere in our galaxy, regardless of all the convolutions that such an encounter of civilizations could bring about.
Thousands of sightings and strange events in the heavens above, dated in various parts of the world, have lead many to believe that we are being stealthily visited by representatives from faraway planets.

The formation, measuring 150ft in diameter, is apparently a coded image representing the first 10 digits, 3.141592654, of pi.
Call it NASA's X files if you must, but investigative reporter, Leslie Kean, is hot on the trail of what in the world (or out of it) took place in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania in December 1965.
It took the winning of a lawsuit against NASA in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, but now the investigator has her hands on a load of files that may - or may not - offer new clues about the Kecksburg incident.
For years, Kean has been seeking documents about the purported crash of an unknown object in that locale over forty years ago. Witnesses described seeing a fireball in the evening sky, some sort of a controlled landing, followed by a military recovery of a spacecraft-like object.

They are like a Crime Scene Investigation unit. They have a case - a reported UFO or an unidentified flying object. Their job is to investigate whether it can be identified or not. They sort through facts, photographs, witness statements and through the Internet.
The investigators are people who are interested in the phenomenon of UFOs. They are part of the Del Rio chapter of MUFON or Mutual UFO Network. The group meets monthly to discuss sightings, investigations and the latest news on UFOs.
UFO sightings aren't new to the skies of Del Rio. Sightings here include one in 1950 near Langtry which has been called "the other Roswell" by some - as in Roswell, N.M.
LEEDS, England - A 61-year-old man was sent to prison yesterday because the dead grandmother of one of his victims revealed to medium Patrick Hutchinson that the girl had been abused. He was convicted of five charges of indecently assaulting three girls aged from nine to 11 between 1997 and 2001.
NEWBURY - Greater Newburyport is no stranger to UFO sightings, but would the little green men actually pick Friday the 13th as a landing date?
Two local men swear that something appeared over Interstate 95 about 10 a.m. yesterday, and they say it was unlike anything they've ever seen.
"I was driving my nephew James to school at Triton to pick up some paperwork," Robert Mace, 36, of Congress Street in Amesbury, said. "Then we both looked up and saw this silver, illuminated saucer flying through the air, it changed shape into a cylinder and left a trail of smoke, and then it snuffed out like a candle."
Mace is no science fiction enthusiast, but his voice shook as he recounted his experience. Hours after the incident, which he said occurred near Exit 55 in Byfield, Mace said he still had goose bumps.
"I never saw anything like this in my life, and I probably never will again," Mace said. "It was so brightly illuminated in the clear blue sky ... It was a big, shiny platter and then changed shape and only lasted about 30 seconds."
