A German man, who had previously been convicted of spreading LGBTQ propaganda, has been expelled from Russia for breaking the law in Russia's Far East, the local Federal Bailiff Service has said.

"The employees of the Kamchatka Department of the Federal Bailiff Service have executed a court decision to expel a German citizen, convicted of promoting LGBT values, from the country," the agency said on Tuesday.

The bailiffs escorted the man from Kamchatka to Moscow, where he will depart for Germany via Turkey, it added.

In early April, a court in Kamchatka's Elizovsky District ruled that the German national was guilty of "promoting non-traditional sexual relations and preferences on the internet."

The man, who acknowledged his guilt during the trial, was fined 150,000 rubles (around $1,900) and ordered to leave the country.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot implemented a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for city employees in October of 2021

An Illinois judge ruled that the city of Chicago must rehire and pay back lost wages of unionized city employees who were fired or disciplined for violating COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

Administrative law judge Anna Hamburg-Gal, writing on behalf of the Illinois Labor Relations Board, said that the city "failed and refused" to bargain in good faith with union leaders "over the effects of its decision to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate."

The decision applies to unionized city of Chicago employees working as carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, machinists, and other job categories.

Affected employees must also be paid back lost wages and benefits with 7% annual interest, according to the ruling.

Comment: Lightfoot was almost gleeful in her exercise of emergency powers: There were rebellions along the way, which have now been vindicated:

A 12-year-old Arizona soccer player is in the hospital after collapsing on the field - she suffered a cardiac arrest while at practice on April 27.

Since then, support is streaming in from the soccer community and beyond, here in the Valley and across the country, for Pyper Midkiff.

"One of those things that's never going to happen to you right? I mean, a healthy 12-year-old, a healthy 12-year-old with no symptoms with parents that are fit and healthy. I've coached for 28 years. I've never seen anything happen like this. I'm a physical therapist and I thought the worst case would be a broken leg," Pyper's father Matt Midkiff said.

Pyper's father says that support and all the messages they've been receiving have been a welcome distraction getting them through the last 72 hours. Less than 24 hours ago, the family got some incredible news - Pyper woke up for the first time.

El Paso to declare new state of emergency: Border facilities hit capacity ahead of Title 42 expiration

© City of El PasoEl Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser will declare a new state of emergency on Monday, May 1,2023 over the influx of migrants.
El Paso, Texas will declare a new state of emergency on Monday as border facilities have reached capacity due to migrants flooding in from Mexico before Title 42 expires on May 11.

Mayor Oscar Leeser warned that his border city could buckle under the pressure of thousands of migrants seeking aid, with more expected to come as the US ends the federal pandemic-era policy which has allowed officials to kick millions of people back to Mexico.

Leeser said the declaration, which would likely last 30 days, will call on additional US government aid to provide shelters for the asylum seekers, as well as security for the whole community.

The city has already received $22.5 million from the feds.

"The reason we're declaring a state of emergency is to make sure we can stand up and prepare for May 11," Leeser said during a news conference Sunday. "To make sure we have public shelters, public housing... and two schools in place."

IBM plans to pause hiring for jobs that can be automated in the near future, the company's CEO told the outlet

International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) expects to cut nearly 8,000 jobs in the coming years and replace them with AI, the CEO of the US tech giant, Arvind Krishna, has told Bloomberg.

In an interview published on Tuesday, Krishna said the company plans to slow or completely suspend hiring for back-office functions such as human resources, noting that these non-customer-facing roles currently amount to nearly 26,000 workers.

"I could easily see 30% of that getting replaced by AI and automation over a five-year period," Krishna said, suggesting that AI-induced job cuts could affect some 7,800 workers.

Comment: The future currently looks dim for the majority of the world's workers, indeed for humanity as a whole. Still, the universe has a way of balancing matters. One good EMP would scotch the whole project:

Best of the Web: How an ill-informed Internet mob ruined a UVA student's life

Clockwise: UVA activist Zyahna Bryant; Morgan Bettinger being accosted at a BLM protest; Bettinger calling for help
Morgan Bettinger was accused on social media of telling protesters they would make good "speed bumps." It was more than a year before investigations cleared her.

The story went something like this: A white woman pulled up to a Black Women Matter protest in Charlottesville and told attendees they would make "good fucking speed bumps." When protesters confronted her, the driver cried and called the police.

If you were a student at the University of Virginia (UVA) during summer 2020 — as I was — you almost certainly heard this tale. It was repeated hundreds of times, over group chats and Instagram posts and viral tweets. The rumors were given a sheen of legitimacy by local news reporting and were acknowledged by the university administration.

The allegations first attracted attention after Zyahna Bryant, a 19-year-old UVA student and social justice activist, made them on Twitter during the demonstration. Her account would be retweeted more than 1,000 times. "The woman in this truck approached protesters in #Charlottesville, and told us that we would make 'good speedbumps,'" Bryant wrote. "She then called the police and started crying saying we were attacking her."

Comment: None of the videos Zyahna Bryant posted are now available, as she has locked her Twitter account. However Youtube's Actual Justice Warrior has clips of the deleted videos and a breakdown:

Nothing is safe from diversity, equity and inclusion ideology — not even your dog.

DEI is one of the ways critical race theory is put into action. CRT maintains that seemingly neutral systems are just a ruse to maintain white supremacy.

DEI uses the same racial lens, focusing on "whiteness" as the core evil in society.
