UK: Starmer accused after blaming security services for vetting process that failed uncover Mandelson-Epstein ties

Former UK cabinet minister and Ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, has been arrested just weeks after resigning over revelations that he gave Jeffrey Epstein advance notice of a €500bn bailout to save the Euro.

Mandelson was arrested at an address in Camden on Monday and taken to a London police station for an interview in connection with 'misconduct in public office.'

The arrest follows search warrants at two addresses in Wiltshire and Camden, and comes four days after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office, amid allegations he shared confidential government trade documents with Epstein as well.

Comment: The whole affair would almost be entertaining to us plebes if it wasn't all so sick. The Daily Mail reports:
Peter Mandelson was in a police cell on Monday after being arrested at his London home.

Ashen-faced, the disgraced former minister was led away by detectives who have spent weeks investigating allegations that he leaked sensitive information to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein during his time as business secretary.

His arrest, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, came four days after police sensationally arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on similar allegations.

The 72-year-old architect of New Labour left his £7.6million Regents Park home flanked by suit-clad officers yesterday afternoon, clenching his jaw as he was ushered into the back of a police car.

The arrest will heap pressure on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who has faced a furious backlash for approving Mandelson as ambassador to Washington before the peer was subject to an in-depth national security vetting.

It had been known prior to the appointment in December 2024 that Labour's self-confessed 'Prince of Darkness' enjoyed a close friendship with the convicted sex offender.

The Government are now under pressure to release the files relating to his controversial posting.

[...]

Earlier this month Mandelson bowed to public pressure and resigned his seat in the House of Lords.

Days later, police searched Mandelson's London home, which the politician bought in 2011 following advice from Epstein.

Following revelations in the Epstein emails, the former 'minister without portfolio' has claimed that he has 'no recollection' of receiving payments totalling $75,000 from the predator between 2003 and 2004.

Ya think? CIA admits there was 'political bias' in Obama-era intelligence

© Alex Wong/Getty ImagesPresident Obama (L) and John Brennan are both implicated directly in Tulsi Gabbard's findings, says President Trump.
For years, anyone who questioned whether Washington's intelligence machinery tilted left was told they were peddling conspiracies. That narrative fell apart on Friday, when CIA Director John Ratcliffe ordered the official retraction or major revision of nineteen intelligence products produced during the Obama years, citing political bias and substandard analytic tradecraft. It's the first official acknowledgment that America's most powerful spy agency let politics color its assessments.

"The intelligence products we released to the American people today — produced before my tenure as DCIA — fall short of the high standards of impartiality that CIA must uphold and do not reflect the expertise for which our analysts are renowned," Director Ratcliffe said in a statement. "There is absolutely no room for bias in our work and when we identify instances where analytic rigor has been compromised, we have a responsibility to correct the record. These actions underscore our commitment to transparency, accountability, and objective intelligence analysis. Our recent successes in Operation ABSOLUTE RESOLVE and Operation MIDNIGHT HAMMER exemplify our dedication to analytic excellence."

The intruder entered the Mar-a-Lago inner perimeter while carrying a shotgun and a gas can, the Palm Beach County sheriff has said.

The US Secret Service has said it shot and killed an armed man who entered President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The intruder was carrying a shotgun and a gas can, according to security officials.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. The intruder, described as a white male in his early 20s, entered the estate's secure perimeter. He was confronted by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy, and "shots were fired by law enforcement during the encounter," according to a statement released by the agency.

The intruder was pronounced dead at the scene. No security officials were injured. Trump and his wife Melania were not at the estate at the time of the incident, according to the Secret Service. The Sheriff's Office and the FBI have launched a probe into the incident.

The cost of genocide: Israel's war on Gaza by the numbers

Billions of dollars have been spent, directly and indirectly, by Israel since it started its war on Gaza in October 2023

Since its genocidal war on Gaza began in October 2023, Israel has expended vast amounts of money and manpower on leveling the Palestinian territory and destroying its institutions.

It has killed more than 72,000 people in achieving this end, including tens of thousands of children and women — with some independent researchers suggesting that the death toll is higher than 75,000.

Of those who are still alive, many have suffered the effects of deliberately imposed starvation: first during Israel's siege of northern Gaza in late 2024, which United Nations officials described as "apocalyptic", and later during the man-made famine Israeli policies created in August 2025, when images of malnourished and starving children became commonplace on news bulletins around the world.

None of this has come cheaply. Israel - backed by its principal ally, the United States - has poured billions of dollars into waging its war on Gaza. So, how much does the killing of more than 72,000 Palestinians cost? How much do you need to spend on munitions to commit a genocide? And what is the impact of industrialised mass killing on an economy?

Here's what we know:

Comment: How's that for US gov spending? It is staggering. It makes, by default, every American taxpayer a co-sponsor of Palestinian genocide.

Ukraine is Hungary's enemy: Orbán slams Kyiv as Brussels admits it can't end the war

On February 7, 2026, at a public rally in Szombathely, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán declared, "Anyone who expresses such sentiments is an enemy of Hungary; therefore, Ukraine stands as our enemy."

Orbán Labels Ukraine Enemy

The remark was not a rhetorical flourish; it was a declaration rooted in economic reality. Despite years of EU pressure to sever ties with Russia, which has hammered Hungarian energy security and household prices, Budapest has resisted, opting for realism over dogma. In a Europe intoxicated with moral crusades, Orbán's blunt articulation exposes a widening rift between those who chase ideological purity and those who must balance power, prosperity, and survival.

Ukraine's role has been less that of a sovereign partner and more that of a proxy hammer for Western ambitions. From energy blockades to diplomatic coercion, Kyiv's posture has compounded Hungary's strategic squeeze. Far from an abstract debate over principles, the outcome is measured in realpolitik: rising energy costs and systemic instability for Central European states.

Bizarro Earth

What can the "middle powers" do?

global map
global map
American dominance is fading, but no new hegemon is rising to — or even willing to — replace it. The world is drifting into a multipolar order without a clear centre. In this uncertain landscape, stability will not come from a single superpower. It will come from the countries in the middle, especially if they can strategically place themselves as "balancers" instead of placing their bets on any single bloc. Their role can make the difference between the chaos and the order of the new world order.

The Fading of the Unipolar Era

For roughly three decades after the Cold War, the international system revolved around the US. Washington possessed unmatched military reach, financial dominance, and institutional influence. That structure is now eroding. China's economic rise, Russia's strategic assertiveness, and the broader diffusion of economic power across Asia have reduced the relative weight of the US. America remains enormously powerful, but it is no longer unchallenged.

The Discombobulated West

Neo-Caligula - a.k.a. The Undisputed Tariff Champion of the World - seems to be surprised that Iran has not capitulated.

No wonder. No clueless sycophant amongst his astonishingly mediocre inner circle is intellectually equipped to explain to neo-Caligula, in soundbites, the basics of Shi'ism.

It gets worse. What's actually on the imperial table is the return of Total War as a political cover up, benefitting a sizable chunk of the massively corrupt/perverse Anglo-American/Atlanticist oligarchy.

The Geneva "negotiations" have been a failure. War on Russia was the leitmotif of the Munich Security Conference. The "massive armada" concentrated not far from the Persian Gulf walks, talks and sails like the US/Israel is ready to attack Iran.

Even considering a possible last chance saloon in Geneva on Friday; even considering no Iranian capitulation, the most plausible scenario remains TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out).

Because an attack on Iran - leading to a devastating response - seals the deal on the Republicans losing the mid-terms, and neo-Caligula becoming a lame tariffed duck.

All the drama revolves around the immediate imperative of switching attention from the Epstein Files - or The United States of Epstein Island colliding with the Western Epstein Collective. The Trump-Bibi-Epstein Syndicate needs to change the narrative.

In the US, a monster speculative bubble rules; historically, the Empire of Chaos, Plunder and Permanent Strikes always go to war after a bubble explodes. The Department of Forever Wars will have a budget 50% higher in 2027.

Yet the wars must start now. The industrial-military complex, or rather the MICIMATT, as memorably defined by Ray McGovern (military-industrial-congressional-intelligence-media-academia-think tank complex) is the only escape valve for a Western turbo-capitalism trailing economically and with its "credibility" six feet under.

The new paradigm - no rules whatsoever international chaos - is now naked. It's supremely, pornographically predatory: the Epstein ethos captures it to perfection.

And History does repeat itself - always as farce: the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine will go on. That's an European "elite" obsession. And just like in 1941, it's over Russia's immense natural resources.

So Nietzsche was right, as usual, as early as in 1888. We are living the death pangs of the Western, post-modernist plunge into nihilism. Post-truth, in yet another poetic (in)justice nugget, is mirrored by Truth Social.

Outcry after Ambassador Mike Huckabee suggests Israel has God-given right to Middle East land

Arab states have reacted with fury after U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggested Israel has a biblical right to take over large swaths of the Middle East.

"It would be fine if they took it all, but I don't think that's what we're talking about here today," Huckabee told podcaster Tucker Carlson during an interview posted on YouTube on Friday, as the two discussed his Christian Zionist beliefs and interpretations of the Old Testament regarding land promised to Abraham's descendants, stretching across multiple modern-day countries.

Huckabee added that this was not on the table, as "they're not asking to take all that." Asked if it would be fine for Israel to take over countries including Syria and Lebanon, he replied: "That's really not exactly what I'm trying to say."

His comments drew swift condemnation from across the region.

The Strategic Dilemma At the Heart of Iran's Struggle

Prisoner's dilemma
Contradictory bouts of news and rumor continue to pour in surrounding Trump's 'imminent' attack on Iran. The buildup is said to be the largest since the Iraq war, with various figures like ex-CIA operative John Kiriakou giving their renditions of 'insider intel' that Trump has already sealed the fated decision and is ready to roll heavy within the next 48 hours. Iranian officials, on the other hand, appear to signal that talks will continue into next weekend, and there are varied reports about deals gaining traction.

It's clear that Trump has been wavering due to major second thoughts about a prolonged conflict. Multiple reports have indicated he may be leaning towards a "compromise" of limited strikes in order to coerce Iran into a deal, rather than risking an all out conflict which could end in humiliation.

Comment: In the current situation there is also the risk of a certain 'hidden' actor will light the fuse and trap the US to act. False flag terror attack are common throughout recent history.

The 'major build-up' of US military forces in and around the Middle East sure makes it look like D-Day for 'war with Iran' is imminent. What people are overlooking, however, is that this is Trump doing his 'maximum pressure' routine with a view to 'deal-making', not blowing the world up to kingdom come. The situation is certainly tense, a lot is at stake, and Trump is under tremendous pressure by Israel to 'commit', but the world has changed, and Iran is not Syria or Libya. There will almost certainly be 'kinetic action', but perhaps not the kind envisioned by most.
