Number of incidents between US and Iranian vessels in Persian Gulf doubled in 2016

The number of unsafe incidents in the Persian Gulf that involved both Iranian vessels and US Navy almost doubled in the first six months of 2016 if to compare with the same period of 2015, US media reported.

The vessels of the two states had dangerously interacted 19 times in the first half of 2016 and only 10 in the same period of 2015, the Fox News broadcaster reported citing a US defense official, speaking on conditions of anonymity.

The broadcaster added that since July there had been 11 more confrontations between the navies of the two countries in the region. On August 23, two Iranian naval vessels approached within 300 yards of the US destroyer Nitze while transiting waters near the Strait of Hormuz, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

EU staff petition the "morally reprehensible behavior" of Barroso over Goldman Sachs job

More than 75,000 people have signed an EU staff petition against former European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso, calling for "exemplary measures" after he had joined Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs.

The petition was organized by a small group of EU officials, and accuses Barroso of "irresponsible" and "morally reprehensible behavior." They plan to present the petition to the current leaders of the EU institutions at the end of September.

Barroso was Portugal's prime minister from 2002 to 2004, and later served as President of the European Commission from 2004 to 2014, and took up the position of chairman and senior adviser to the international arm of Goldman Sachs in July.

He is criticized for joining the Wall Street bank that helped spark the 2008 financial crisis. Goldman has also been blamed for assisting Greece in hiding its financial situation in order to enter the eurozone in 2000.

Separately, a staff union with 2,000 members has written to the current European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker. They criticize the appointment, saying it "can only provide further ammunition for populist and extremist Europhobe propaganda".

Facebook censors video exposing PBS cutting Hillary/TPP criticism from Jill Stein interview

Facebook is censoring a video created by Green candidate Dr. Jill Stein supporter Matt Orfalea that exposes PBS Newshour cutting Stein's criticism of Hillary Clinton, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and Obamacare.

Breitbart News reported on the Orfalea's video exposing the Hillary bias and now it appears Facebook is censoring the exposure of censorship. Orfalea told Breitbart News: "It's insane."

"My video of PBS censoring Jill Stein has been CENSORED by Facebook!" Orfalea wrote in a Facebook post. "It got over 100k views and over 5k shares in less than 24 hrs...And all of a sudden it has disappeared. I have still received no notification from FB about this."

Israel supports Al Qaeda's new makeover in Syria

Late last month, Jabhat al-Nusra (aka, the Al-Nusra Front), Al-Qaida's Syrian arm, announced that it was severing ties with Al-Qaida and renaming itself Jabhat Al-Fatah Al-Sham (the Front for the Conquest of Syria).

In a video, the group's leader, Abu Mohamed Al-Jolani, explained that the group's association with al-Qaida permitted the outside powers intervening in the Syrian conflict to label it as an Islamic terrorist group.

The Guardian quoted Al-Jolani as saying that the name change is intended "to remove the excuse used by the international community - spearheaded by Russia - to bombard and displace Muslims in the Levant: that they are targeting Al-Nusra Front, which is associated with Al-Qaida."


Comment: Funny that the Guardian gives well-known terrorists air-time to complain that Russia is bombing them, but as usual the US gets a free hand to 'bomb and displace' ordinary Muslims.


He further explained that the new policy was an attempt to have the group removed from international terror lists and to allow it to be perceived as a more acceptable, "moderate", alternative to its main competitor, ISIS.

Comment: Western officials making these decisions don't care who they're going to war with, or who they're selling arms to, as long as they can benefit and their corporations get a cut of the profits. They've supported al Nusra, al Qaeda and ISIS, using Western troops and civilians worldwide as cannon fodder in a war that was never meant to end. Let's face it - they are all just about as vile as it gets.

Putin did it! New York Times claims 'Russia's responsible for alternative media'

Contrary to what is claimed in an evidence free article in The New York Times, Russia does not control or influence the alternative media, which has grown spontaneously as a response to the failure of the traditional media to question Western policies or Western realities with which many Westerners are increasingly dissatisfied. Rather it is simply a case that Russian foreign policy is genuinely attractive to much of the Western public which is attracted to alternative media.

Anyone who has ever been to an abattoir and witnessed the slitting of an animals throat, knows that it is not a pleasant sight to see, irrespective of one's dietary customs. Once the throat of the animal is slit it begins moving in a crazed and violent manner, a futile struggle before its ultimate death.

Something similar is happening to western mainstream media, but luckily this implosion of the senses and violent lashings out are the product not of physical violence but of ideological collapse, lack of popularity and decades of discredited theories.

The latest story comes in the form of a hit piece in The New York Times against new media (alternative media) and elaborates on Hillary Clinton's wild conspiracy theory that the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin himself are directly involved in coordinating all of the world's new media, including from within European and North American countries.

As usual there is no evidence.

Comment: People are sick and tired of the crooks in the 'mainstream media' who long ago sold out to the highest bidders.

Homeland Security to review and reconsider use of privately-owned immigration detention centers

The US may soon curtail the use of privately-owned immigration detention centers as the Department of Homeland Security's head has ordered closer scrutiny. The move would reflect the Justice Department's step to phase out private prisons.

"On Friday, I directed our Homeland Security Advisory Council [HSAC], chaired by Judge William Webster, to evaluate whether the immigration detention operations conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE] should move in the same direction," DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson said on Monday.

Judge Webster's team would have until November 30 to complete the evaluation of immigration detention centers across the US and present the results personally to Johnson and the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Sarah Saldana.

Johnson has also tasked Judge Webster with starting a Subcommittee of the Council that would look into America's existing policy and practices of using privately owned centers. It would be on the Subcommittee to judge whether this should be changed as well.

"I asked that the Subcommittee consider all factors concerning ICE's detention policy and practice, including fiscal considerations,"Johnson said.

The Russian Paralympics team will miss the 2018 Games in South Korea's Pyeongchang due to a ban on athletes implemented prior to the Rio Olympics and the suspension of the country's membership of the International Paralympics Committee (IPC)

An announcement was published by the Russian Paralympics Committee (RPC) on its website.

"The decision of the IPC, confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), on the ban of the Russian sportsmen with disabilities for the Paralympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro extends to the Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018," the statement reads.

On August 23 CAS upheld the ban on the Russian team issued by the IPC after Moscow filed an appeal against the decision.

"The ruling falls out of the legal framework: it is more political than judicial. There were no grounds to reject [the appeal]; but that's what happened," Russian Sports minister said back then.

Paul Wolfowitz and the lies that he told in the high government positions that he held are responsible for a massive number of deaths and massive destruction in seven countries. Wolfowitz has announced his vote for Hillary Clinton. Does this make you feel reassured?

The real surprise would have been Wolfowitz's announcement in favor of Donald Trump. So why was what was expected news?

Trump has said that he doesn't see any future in the conflict Washington has initiated with Russia, and Trump questions the point of NATO's continuing existence. These peaceful attitudes make Trump into a "national security risk" according to Wolfowitz. What Wolfowitz means is that a peace candidate is a threat to Wolfowitz's doctrine of US world hegemony. In the crazed mind of Wolfowitz and the neoconservatives, America is not safe unless it rules the world.

Hillary is a warmonger, perhaps the ultimate and last one if she becomes president, as the combination of her hubris and incompetence is likely to result in World War 3. On July 3, 2015, Hillary declared: "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm president, we will attack Iran. . . . we would be able to totally obliterate them. The crazed Hillary went on from this to declare the President of Russia to be "the new Hitler." Little doubt she thinks she can obliterate Russia also.

Hillary is the one who brought zionist neocon Victoria Nuland into the State Department to oversee the US coup in Ukraine in order to create more propaganda against Russia and force Washington's European vassals to impose sanctions and place military bases on Russia's borders, thus provoking a nuclear power and raising dangerous tensions.

The assassination of John F Kennedy in 1963 was an inside job, according to a deathbed confession given to the veteran film director Oliver Stone.

After making his acclaimed film JFK - which was sympathetic to conspiracy theories about the murder - Stone was contacted by a man claiming to have been a former member of the presidential security team.

Dying of cancer, the man wanted to share a secret that he had until then only told his son - that 'somebody from his own team... had fired on the President'.

He gave only a code name 'Ron', in reaching out through a series of mysterious letters before the two men eventually met.

Stone said he was naturally skeptical about such a claim, as there have been so many conspiracy theories since Kennedy was killed by two rifle bullets while travelling in an open limousine through Dallas in November 1963.

It's hard to think of a presidential candidate that has been at the heart of more scandals than Hillary Clinton. Each passing day seems to bring a new revelation which shines more light upon the corrupt and murky world that Clinton operates in. If Clinton is installed into the White House by the elite in the coming months, it will not only be the final death blow to the American Republic, but it will also drastically increase the probability that a major conflagration will occur between the global powers of the world in the near future.

Despite not being a big fan of Trump - due to the fact that I'm not convinced that he is an independent candidate, or that he is not a hawk himself - there is no doubt that Clinton will be a total abomination as President. In the majority of the mainstream media, there has been a clear propaganda campaign to demonise Trump at all costs, focusing the public's attention on Trump's antics rather than Clinton's crimes. The real estate magnate is hardly a difficult person to ridicule, but considering the blatant crimes that Clinton has committed, she has practically been given a free pass by the mainstream media.

Comment: Putting things into perspective a bit, it's interesting to think that Hillary Clinton's political career is a pet project of a woman who only married into the Rothschild family; this relationship is likely only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
