A Georgia appeals court has halted the election subversion conspiracy case against Donald Trump and several of his co-defendants - a massive victory for the former president seeking to push further legal issues until 2025 if he can't beat them altogether.

The new order filed on Wednesday from the Georgia Court of Appeals is the latest indication that a trial in the state-level Georgia election subversion case will not occur before the 2024 presidential election. The court said the case will be on hold until a panel of judges rules on whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified.

The appeals court is expected to rule on the disqualification issue by March 2025, though it could issue a ruling sooner. Several sources close to the case have told CNN that the timeline remains very uncertain.

Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee had initially allowed proceedings in his courtroom to continue as the appeals court weighed an appeal of his decision to allow Willis to remain on the case.

The Republican leaders of the three House committees leading the impeachment inquiry into President Biden sent criminal referrals to the Justice Department on Wednesday recommending charges against Hunter Biden and James Biden for making false statements to Congress.

The GOP chairmen of the Judiciary, Oversight and Ways and Means panels claimed the lies from Hunter Biden, the president's son, and James Biden, his brother, implicate Mr. Biden's role in what Republicans have alleged is an effort to profit off his family's overseas business dealings while he was vice president.

The president has denied any wrongdoing, and the House GOP's investigation has yet to yield any evidence of improper conduct by Mr. Biden. The president's son and brother also both told lawmakers that Mr. Biden had no involvement in their foreign business dealings. The Justice Department declined to comment on the referrals.

The overall theme in 2024 is "multipolarity," quite fitting considering this is the year of the Russian presidency of BRICS. The BRICS summit next October in Kazan will be crucial in drawing the contours of the road map towards multipolarity going forward.

Ay, there's the rub. Taking us to arguably the key question facing the Global Majority: How can we afford to dream about multipolarity when we are plunged into The Unthinkable, reduced to the role of mere spectators, watching a genocide broadcast 24/7 on every smartphone on the planet?

The - avowedly imperfect - International Court of Justice (ICJ) at least ordered the biblical genocidals to stop bombing Rafah. Israel's response? They bombed Rafah. Worse, they burned children alive in refugee tents. With American missiles.

And the genocide will continue at least until the end of this multipolar year, as boasted by Israeli intel. The Global Majority at least clearly sees how the "rules-based international order" works. Yet that's not much of a comfort.

The ICJ order to stop the carnage in Rafah, plus the ICC drive to seek warrants for the arrest of top Israeli leaders for serial war crimes in Gaza, predictably sent the Israel-US joined at-the-hip combo into a hysterical frenzy.

The heart of the matter concerns the real masters and managers of the Empire of Chaos and Plunder - much more than their lowly emissaries. The masters cannot allow any institution to loosen their grip on the official narrative.

The official narrative is "there's no genocide in Gaza" and no "red lines" have been trespassed. This is the official diktat of the collective west. No breaches are allowed. They will go to unconstitutional extremes to enforce total narrative control, with an ironclad public relations operation to envelop the whole planet in layer after layer of propaganda stupor.

Slightly contradicting Mao Zedong, real power does not come from the barrel of a gun (or from a hypersonic nuclear missile); it comes from narrative control, or what we used to call "soft power." The difference now is that the Hegemon does not control soft power anymore. The Global Majority is perfecting, in real-time, its own soft power counterpunches.

An Israeli think tank expert claims that China cannot be a mediator in the war on Gaza, as it has no 'knowledge' in matters of refugees or borders.

Ties between China and "Israel" are seeing a path perhaps to rock bottom amid the war on Gaza, issues with the US and national security, according to China's South China Morning Post, which cited an Israeli expert.

Assaf Orion, director of the Diane and Guilford Glazer Israel-China Policy Centre at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) said, "The purpose for Israel remains to have friendly and fruitful relations with China," adding, "At the same time, these relations are managed under considerations of national security, like China does itself."

He noted that "Israel's" national security included "taking into account the US' concerns".

Israeli forces have used white phosphorus bombs in at least 17 municipalities across southern Lebanon, including populated residential areas, since October last year, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Wednesday.

"It verified the use of white phosphorus munitions by Israeli forces in at least 17 municipalities across south Lebanon since October 2023, including 5 municipalities where airburst munitions were unlawfully used over populated residential areas," HRW stated in a report, adding that this illegal act has put civilian lives in grave risk.

The report said the use of white phosphorus also contributed to civilian displacement from their homes in southern Lebanon.

"Under international humanitarian law, the use of airburst white phosphorus is unlawfully indiscriminate in populated areas," it warned.

Spain will join South Africa's genocide case before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel's actions in Gaza, its Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said today, according to Reuters.

Spain is the second European nation after Ireland to join the case, which has also been joined by Chile and Mexico, among others.

On Monday, Palestinian authorities filed an application to join South Africa as a party in its Gaza genocide case against Israel, the court said.

This came days after Palestinian authorities officially recognised the authority of the ICJ to resolve all disputes that may arise or have already arisen under Article IX.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that he could send long-range weapons to "regions around the world" wanting to strike Western targets after the US and its allies authorized Ukrainian strikes with their arms on Russian soil.

Speaking to international journalists in St. Petersburg, Putin said the new firing agreement between Kyiv and major NATO members indicated the alliance's "direct involvement in the war against the Russian Federation."

He added that Moscow reserved "the right to act the same way."

"If they consider it possible to supply such weapons to the combat zone to launch strikes on our territory and create problems for us, why don't we have the right to supply weapons of the same class to some regions of the world where they can be used to launch strikes on sensitive facilities of the countries that do it to Russia?" he said.

Black sites' are about reminding those who have been colonised and enslaved of a simple lesson: resistance is futile

On a misty November morning 21 years ago, I was desperately trying to remain camouflaged. Concealed in the foliage of an orange grove in Israel's rural Galilee, I hurriedly took photos of a drab concrete building not marked on any map.

Even the original road sign identifying the site as Facility 1391 had been removed after a local Haaretz newspaper investigation revealed it housed a secret prison.

I was the first foreign journalist to track down Facility 1391, most of it hidden within a heavily fortified complex built in the 1930s to suppress resistance to British rule in Palestine.

For decades, Israel had secretly held mostly Arab foreign nationals captive at the site, unknown to the Israeli courts, the Red Cross and human rights groups. Many were Lebanese citizens kidnapped during Israel's 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon. But there were also Jordanians, Syrians, Egyptians and Iranians.

This site would soon be known as a "black site", a term popularised by Washington's invasion of Iraq that year. Drawing on techniques refined by Israel at Facility 1391, the US would, in the coming months and years, torture Iraqis and others at Abu Ghraib and Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo.

No one knew how many captives were held in Israel's Facility 1391, how long they had been there or if there were more such prisons.

Military checkpoints. Wall-to-wall mass surveillance. Predictive policing. Aerial surveillance that tracks your movements wherever you go and whatever you do. AI-powered facial recognition and biometric programs carried out with [sic without] the knowledge or consent of those targeted by it. Cyber-intelligence. Detention centers. Brutal interrogation tactics. Weaponized drones. Combat robots.

We've already seen many of these military tactics and technologies deployed on American soil and used against the populace, especially along the border regions, a testament to the heavy influence Israel's military-industrial complex has had on U.S. policing.

Indeed, Israel has become one of the largest developers and exporters of military weapons and technologies of oppression worldwide.

Mexico has a new president, marking two historical firsts as Claudia Sheinbaum's Sunday election by a landslide will make her the first woman to enter the country's highest office, as well as the first Jewish person.

Sheinbaum's ruling Morena party is also on track to hold majorities in both chambers of Congress, a possible two-thirds supermajority where reform measures can be passed with no opposition. Thus President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's left-wing party will continue its mandate, and Sheinbaum is his handpicked successor.

The 61-year-old is former mayor of Mexico City and a climate scientist by training. Her chief opposition candidate Xóchitl Gálvez, also a woman, has called Sheinbaum to concede in addition to Jorge Álvarez Máynez of the small Citizen's Movement party.
