Slovakia PM Fico says EU tried to sabotage canceled Trump-Putin peace summit in Budapest

The Slovak leader said some EU states have "turned into a war cabinet" as Poland warned Putin could be detained mid-flight

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has accused some within the European Union of attempting to sabotage peace by disrupting the now-canceled meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Budapest.

"The foreign minister of a European Union member state says that Russian President V. Putin could be detained during a flight over this country, and the European Commission's media environment is warning Hungary that it should implement an international arrest warrant," Fico said in a statement released by the Slovak Government Office.

"I have always maintained that the EU has turned into a war cabinet, that a significant part of EU member states support the war in Ukraine in the naive belief that this way Russia can be weakened and even defeated," he added, calling attempts to derail peace talks a "sad sight."

Comment: The EU cabal is terrified of a US-Russia rapprochement. NATO becomes redundant, the sanctions are pointless, and they are exposed for the feckless clowns they are when the US-funded gravy-train stops.

Rand Paul Again Slams Trump Over Strikes: 'If We Don't Blow Up Boats Off Miami, Why Do It Off Venezuela?'

Senator Rand Paul has again slammed President Donald Trump over his military operations off Venezuela, which has killed 27 people after at least half a dozen alleged drug smuggling boats have been blown out of the water by US drones.

Paul spoke with British journalist Piers Morgan this week and argued that any armed conflict should be approved by Congress. The Republican and libertarian-leaning Senator further questioned the administration's claim that the strikes aim to thwart the fentanyl trade in particular.

"There is no fentanyl made in Venezuela. Not just a little bit, there's none being made. These are outboard boats that, in order for them to get to Miami, would have to stop and refuel 20 times," Paul said.

Comment: Trump admitted that Maduro offered everything for a deal but Rubio and Graham (and probably others) was emphatic that Maduro has to be ousted. Paul and Massey are now targets for Trump because they speak common sense and demand the rule of law. Meanwhile Trump will stump for Graham's reelection. Pitiful.

Trump admin winning shutdown fight: Public opinion shifting in his favor

Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer
The fight over the 2025 government shutdown has produced some priceless memes.

Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer
During the 2018-2019 government shutdown (the longest federal shutdown in US history lasting 35 days), Donald Trump's first term administration was ill prepared for the tactics used by the establishment media, Democrats and even saboteurs within his own cabinet. The narrative spin was highly effective in painting Trump as the villain, subverting his efforts to achieve lasting security at the southern border.

The 2018 shutdown hinged largely on the fight between Republicans and Democrats over funding for a border wall that would ensure far lower illegal immigration numbers well after Trump left office. The construction cost of $5.7 billion seems like a pittance compared to the projected cost of $350 billion to deport alien migrants over four years.

Currently, the US is enjoying the lowest immigration numbers in over 60 years as border encounters plummet, but this is largely contingent on Trump's presence in the White House and cuts to subsides for illegals. His original wall proposal remains a necessary measure to help prevent future mass migrations.

Vance admits uncertainty over Gaza's future governance

VP Vance
© Global Look Press/Keystone Press AgencyUS Vice President J.D. Vance
The US vice president has said the priority is security and rebuilding the enclave.

US Vice President J.D. Vance has said he does not know who will ultimately govern Gaza, admitting uncertainty over the enclave's political future amid a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Vance made the remarks on Tuesday while visiting a newly established coordination center in Israel. He was accompanied by President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Vance called the ceasefire progress "better" than anticipated and said he remained optimistic about prospects for a lasting deal to end the two-year war.

Asked by reporters who will govern Gaza, Vance replied:
"I don't know the answer to that question. We need to reconstruct Gaza and make sure both the Palestinians living there and the Israelis can have some measure of security and stability... Then we'll worry about what the long-term governance of Gaza is."
Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in early October under Trump's 20-point peace plan. On Sunday, however, violence flared again as a Palestinian attack that killed two Israeli soldiers triggered Israeli airstrikes that killed at least 28 people in Gaza. Afterwards, Israel and Hamas reaffirmed they were both committed to the ceasefire.

Comment: Netanyahu will make good on Trump's threat of militant eradication and lock Trump into his forever war.

Warning

Gaza ceasefire is an illusion - starvation and killings still continuing

Trump and others

Just how much of what we see in mainstream media about Gaza is the real story? Actually none of it is true as the bigger, darker game being played is all about preparing for a war with Iran.

How's the so-called ceasefire holding up in Gaza? You might be forgiven for thinking that it is anything but a ceasefire but more of an illusion created by the U.S. and a deal which can be broken at any moment by Israel if and when it sees capital to be gained there. Indeed, if there is one thing Bibi Netanyahu is renowned for, it is breaking ceasefires and so it should come as little surprise that he recently did that, supposedly to attack Hamas fighters which Israel claimed were posing a threat.

Let's be clear. The ceasefire is really all about boosting Trump's credibility as a statesman and giving Netanyahu breathing space to re-equip his army, ahead of an inevitable war with Iran. It is anything but a peace deal with the Palestinians but more of a bluff which was really about giving Netanyahu a shot in the arm amongst voters as he gets the credit for bringing back the hostages. But what is the real story? What is behind all this and reports of ISIS fighters being shipped in to take on Hamas?

What we are witnessing is an illusion on a grand scale. Israel has not really stopped its military campaign against the Palestinians there and is still killing Gazans on a daily basis. It is also not feeding them as legacy media likes to assert but in reality the starvation policy is still in place.

The Nobel (War Is) Peace Prize

© AdobeStockWar is Peace
When it comes to destroying your brand, Norwegian Nobel Committee is the Bud Lite of peace prizes. After all, back in 2009 they gave the Peace Prize to a President Barack Obama who then went on to bomb at least seven countries, set the Middle East on fire, and even conduct drone strikes on American citizens!

Other awardees have had similarly suspicious records as peacemakers. They even gave a Peace Prize to the likes of Henry Kissinger.

This year has proven to be no different. Last week the Nobel Committee announced that the 2025 Peace Prize would go to Venezuelan politician María Corina Machado. Machado has a long history in the Venezuelan opposition including support for and participation in the US-backed, 2002 coup against then-president Hugo Chavez.

She is likewise a strong opponent of current Venezuelan president, Nicolas Maduro, and in 2018 even wrote a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asking for Israel's assistance in overthrowing the Venezuelan government.

Shouldn't we be cheering anyone seeking to overthrow Maduro's authoritarian style of socialism that is hardly helping the people of the country? Perhaps, but what Machado is seeking is very different from working for change in her country's system of government. She has long worked with and been paid by the US government's "regime change" apparatus, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

Japan elects hardline conservative as first female PM

Japanese PM, Sanae Takaichi
Sanae Takaichi, the newly elected Prime Minister of Japan.
Sanae Takaichi is expected to pursue a more assertive security policy and maintain close ties with the US amid tensions with China.

Sanae Takaichi has become Japan's first female prime minister after winning a parliamentary vote in Tokyo on Tuesday. The veteran Liberal Democratic (LDP) politician, often dubbed Japan's "Iron Lady" after her political idol, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, is known for social conservatism, nationalism, and backing an expanded role for the country's military.

Takaichi, 64, has supported revising the pacifist clause in Japan's post-war constitution and formally recognizing Japan's Self-Defense Forces as a national army. She has also supported higher defense spending and closer military cooperation with the US.

Her stance on national security has drawn comparisons to the policies of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom she shared close political ties and is considered to be his protege.

Headless EU and Ukraine to offer Trump 'peace plan' with no territorial concessions

Merz and Zelensky
Kiev's European backers are planning to advance a condition Moscow has firmly rejected

Ukraine and its European backers are finalizing a 12-point peace plan that would rule out territorial concessions to Russia, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The proposal would reportedly establish a "peace board" chaired by US President Donald Trump to oversee its implementation. European officials could travel to the US this week to present the roadmap to Trump, Bloomberg reported.

According to the outlet, the plan includes a ceasefire along the current front lines, a prisoner swap, as well as "security guarantees" and fast-tracked EU accession for Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine would negotiate "the governance of occupied territories," but neither Ukraine nor its European backers would recognize Russia's new borders, Bloomberg cited its sources as saying.

Comment: The plan is as headless as the leaders of Europe. Imagine if Hitler in April 1945 had come up with a peaceplan, which set the conditions for the Western allied forces and the Soviet Union at the time to agree too. Conditions such as withdrawel of all the troops fighting Nazi Germany, payment for the reconstruction of Germany and other asinine demands. Yet, somehow the EU and Ukraine think that they can set the conditions for any peace treaty.

Best of the Web: Israel flipped out and killed 45 Palestinians after running over their own bomb

Israel flag saluter

In today's news, Israel's stupid fucking genocidal rapists ran over an unexploded ordnance from their own evil carpet bombing campaign, blamed Hamas for the explosion, started bombing the fuck out of Gaza again, killed scores of civilians, said they were once again cutting off aid to the enclave, and then quietly backed down on urging from Washington.

Rather than report that Israel violated the ceasefire agreement as blatantly as any agreement could possibly be violated, the western press have been referring to this as a "test" of the ceasefire. Killing Palestinians is so normalized and accepted as a baseline expectation in the western press that CNN called it the "first major test" of the ceasefire after Israel killed people in Gaza every single day since the ceasefire agreement was signed.

I hope the "WHY AREN'T YOU CELEBRATING?" crowd have gotten their answer by now. We weren't celebrating because we know more than you. We've actually been paying attention, so we know Israel is going to seek out every excuse to kill Palestinians and torch this fake "ceasefire".

Hamas is hunting down groups in Gaza that collaborated with the Israeli army, one by one

Hamas's wide-ranging security campaign to eliminate armed gangs that collaborated with the Israeli army during the war is escalating. "Our operations will root them all out, without exception," a Hamas security source tells Mondoweiss.

By now, the video has gone viral. Masked gunmen affiliated with Hamas in Nuseirat refugee camp, central Gaza, line up a group of men with their hands bound as onlookers gather around them. The Hamas fighters shout that the men are collaborators with the Israeli army. "Murderers!" an onlooker shouts. They are executed by firing squad.

In another video, a similar scene plays out. A Hamas fighter addresses the crowds, saying that the accused "joined hands" with the Israeli army "to kill their own people," and have been sentenced to death. Before the execution takes place, the masked fighter issues a warning:
"We say to every collaborator — to the great collaborator, Yasser Abu Shabab, the great collaborator, Rami Hilles, and the great collaborator, Ahmad Jundiyya — you will all be brought here to the resistance fighters' feet."

Comment: Rectification? It can't be fixed. Like the holocaust, it will remain in the minds and hearts and souls for generations.
