Best of the Web: Video shows cop choking out child until he goes limp, child left with brain injury

Image

Louisville, Kentucky - Louisville Metro Police Officer Jonathan Hardin, 31, has been arrested for assaulting a child at the school where he was working as a resource officer.

Surveillance video released after it was played during a probable cause hearing on Thursday shows Hardin choking out a 13-year-old student back in January. This was only five days after the officer allegedly assaulted another 13-year-old student in an unrelated incident.

Hardin was also named in a civil suit with two other officers who have been accused of verbally and physically abusing children during a summer program.

Surveillance cameras at the middle school also caught the first incident that took place in the cafeteria on January 22. The footage reportedly shows the officer punch a student in the face so hard that he is knocked to the ground, after accusing him of cutting in line.

The boy was subsequently charged with menacing and resisting arrest following the officer's assault. However, WLKY reports that court records show that the officer made the arrest based on facts that he knew were false.

Instead of being fired, suspended, or moved to a position away from children, the officer remained on duty and January 27th he was caught on camera assaulting a child once again.

Best of the Web: The last month in Russia: Nemtsov cover story? EU/U.S. split? Crimea and more

A Split at Last?

Many of us have been wondering how much longer Europe will harm and abase itself in Washington's service. Has the crack finally opened? You must read this: Der Spiegel, quoting the German Chancellery, is saying that NATO and Washington are lying. "German leaders in Berlin were stunned. They didn't understand what Breedlove was talking about. And it wasn't the first time." "The German government is alarmed. Are the Americans trying to thwart European efforts at mediation led by Chancellor Angela Merkel? Sources in the Chancellery have referred to Breedlove's comments as 'dangerous propaganda'." "No wonder, then, that people in Berlin have the impression that important power brokers in Washington are working against the Europeans". The EU foreign policy chief says the EU will not allow itself to be dragged into confrontation with Moscow. Rather late but welcome nevertheless. Perhaps this explains why Washington took its first step to de-escalate by postponing sending troops to Ukraine. In Washington's war against Russia, it's Europe that is paying and, should fighting spread out of Ukraine, it is where it will be fought.

More De-escalation?

Zbigniew Brzezinski ("without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire") now says Washington should assure Moscow that Ukraine will never be in NATO. Of course NATO and the EU are already pretty tightly joined (more tightly than people realise) but that's something.

Best of the Web: Fanning the flames: Israel and Western powers continue supplying IS with weapons

A senior Iraqi legislator lashed out at the western countries and their regional allies for supporting Takfiri terrorists in Iraq, and said he is in possession of irrefutable intelligence documents showing that ISIL is receiving arms aids from Israel as well as a number western and Arab countries.

"We have intelligence which shows Israel and some major western and regional states have supplied weapons to ISIL," Al-Qad news website quoted member of the Iraqi parliament's Security and Defense Committee Abbas al-Khazali as saying on Monday.

Meantime, the Iraqi legislator stressed that his country needs more weapons to fight the ISIL, and said Baghdad is willing to purchase weapons from East European countries, Russia and China.

Comment: It is really getting obvious what the 'coalition' is up to and are not even bothering to hide it. Fanning the fuel for war to unknown ends.

Best of the Web: The massive lie behind the U.S. unemployment numbers

Image
© UCubed via Facebook
On Friday, we learned that the official "unemployment rate" has fallen to 5.5 percent. Since an unemployment rate of 5 percent is considered to be "full employment" by many economists, many in the mainstream media took this as a sign that the U.S. economy has almost fully "recovered" since the last recession. In fact, according to the Wall Street Journal, some Federal Reserve officials believe that "the U.S. economy is already at full employment". But how can this possibly be? It certainly does not square with reality. Personally, I know people that have been struggling with unemployment for years and that still cannot find a decent job. And I get emails from readers all the time that are heartbroken because they are suffering through extended periods of unemployment. So what in the world is going on? How can the government be telling us that we are nearly at "full employment" when so many people can't find work? Could it be possible that the government numbers are misleading?

It is my contention that the official "unemployment rate" has become so politicized and so manipulated that it is essentially meaningless at this point. The following are 10 reasons why...

#1 Since February 2008, the size of the U.S. population has grown by 16.8 million people, but the number of full-time jobs has actually decreased by 140,000.

#2 The percentage of working age Americans that have a job right now is still about the same as it was during the depths of the last recession. Posted below is a chart that shows how the employment-population ratio has changed since the beginning of the decade. Does this look like a full-blown "employment recovery" to you?...

Best of the Web: Paramilitary occupation in America

It is necessary to call things by their right names. The obscene regularity of police murders in the United States has reached the point where it is appropriate to speak of the police as an occupying army, whose daily violence and brutality can best be described as a war against the country's poor and working people.
the military police
© wakeup-world.comComing soon to a front door near you...
Practically every day brings a new outrage. The death toll mounts relentlessly, against the backdrop of harassment and beatings that are daily facts of life in much of the country. The government does not publish figures on police killings; however, according to statistics compiled from media reports, some 1,000 people lose their lives as a result of police violence every year in the United States. That averages out to almost three fatalities a day.

Comment: There are several non-lethal ways to deal with civilians, especially when they are committing minor infractions. A loaded gun should never be the first option. We are traveling a dark and deadly road if we allow the murdering of civilians by militarized police forces as an acceptable form of societal control. Life matters, or have we forgotten that. Apparently so. Where is the outrage? Where, indeed, are the constraints? Uncorrected, the ramifications speak to a nefarious agenda and are nothing less than "deadly." We are literally in a one-sided war within our own country and it ain't gettin' better anytime soon.

Best of the Web: Israeli FM Lieberman: Behead Arabs disloyal to Israel

© Reuters/Ronen ZvulunAvigdor "Off With Their Heads!" Lieberman
The Israeli foreign minister and head of the right-wing Yisrael Beiteinu party Avigdor Lieberman suggested during a campaign event that Arab citizens of Israel, who are disloyal to the state, deserve to be decapitated.

"Whoever is with us should get everything," Lieberman said in a speech at the Interdisciplinary Center in the western city of Herzliya on Sunday. "Whoever is against us, there's nothing else to do. We have to lift up an axe and remove his head, otherwise we won't survive here."

During the rally, the nationalist leader declared those who raise the black flag on Nakba Day, the day Israeli Arabs and Palestinians commemorate the creation of Israel as a tragedy, do not belong in the state of Israel.

"Those who raise the black flag on 'Nakba Day' in mourning over the establishment of Israel do not belong here, as far as I am concerned," he said. "I am quite willing to donate them to PA chief Mahmoud Abbas. It would be my pleasure."

Comment: Lieberman seems to have lost his head. Scratch that, he's always been that way. It's funny: Lieberman is probably completely oblivious to the fact that, to others, it's perfectly clear that he is psychologically and ideologically equivalent to ISIS.

His comments on the Nakba are patently absurd. So, the people who were kicked off their land, and who lost countless relatives to the slaughter, don't deserve to be there because they remember the atrocity? Right...

Best of the Web: Was man murdered for exposing UK VIP pedophile ring?

Image
© Ian Vogler / Daily MirrorBulic Forsythe and his daughter Kiddist. The family have long believed he was murdered as part of a cover up into a VIP pedophile ring.
Police investigating Westminster-linked child abuse are examining whether a man was murdered because he was about to expose a paedophile ring operating within a London council.

Sky News has obtained details of an internal investigation documenting sexual assaults and abuse carried out by officers within Lambeth Council in the 1990s.

The unpublished report reveals claims from those within the council that Bulic Forsythe, a manager in the housing department whose murder sparked a nationwide appeal in 1993, may have discovered council property was being used to carry out abuse.

That abuse involved senior figures in Lambeth who were using council premises for the rape of women and children, according to the report's remarkable findings.

They used the basement of Lambeth's housing headquarters, the report says, because "sexual assault could be performed without fear of interruption by other staff".

A senior staff member is accused of watching material with "sadistic, bestial and paedophile themes" which "may have been home-produced by staff of people with whom they associated".

One female staff member was subject to a rape on council premises "of horrendous proportions", such that she was still suffering from serious injuries one month on.

She described being raped alongside children and animals by senior figures in the council.

Best of the Web: Powerful pedophiles are seemingly everywhere and above the law in the UK

keep calm molest
Sexually molesting extremely small children is one of the most heinous acts a person can commit while existing as a human being on this planet. Since 99% of humanity agrees with this assessment, the incredibly small group of predators who get off on this sort of behavior understand they need to occupy the most elite levels of esteemed institutions in order to safely get away with their vile behavior. This is precisely why so many of the worst pedophiles tends to be very powerful businessmen, politicians and higher ups in organized religion.

Comment: This same logic explains why psychopaths in general occupy the same elite levels.

This is a topic I've explored previously. For example, in the post, In Great Britain, Protecting Pedophile Politicians is a Matter of "National Security", I wrote:
Those with the sickest minds, and who wish to act upon their destructive fantasies, understand that they can most easily get away with their deeds if they are protected by an aura of power and ostensible respectability. They believe that as a result of their status, no one would dare accuse them of horrific activities, and if it ever came to that, they could quash any investigation
Of the developed nations, this sort of thing has essentially become institutionalized in Great Britain, with many of the most horrid pedophiles sporting a "Sir" in front of their names. Like oligarch theft and political corruption, the reason it appears to be such an epidemic over there is precisely because the powerful are coddled and protected.

Comment: "National security." Not in the "public interest." No, revealing that a trusted, high-level politician gets his jollies abusing children is not in the public interest. What are we supposed to do? Expose these people?? They rule the country! Exposing them would tear down civilization's fabric. That's a matter of national security!

Some logic, huh? No, it is a matter of national security that these sick psychopaths are given the license to abuse, rape, and kill children. It is in the public interest that they are exposed, publicly shamed, and punished to the full extent of the law. All of them.

Best of the Web: Russia's remarkable renaissance (and why the West is seeking to crush it)

Image
© Unknown

Something remarkable is taking place in Russia, and it's quite different from what we might expect. Rather than feel humiliated and depressed Russia is undergoing what I would call a kind of renaissance, a rebirth as a nation. This despite or in fact because the West, led by the so-called neo-conservatives in Washington, is trying everything including war on her doorstep in Ukraine, to collapse the Russian economy, humiliate Putin and paint Russians generally as bad. In the process, Russia is discovering positive attributes about her culture, her people, her land that had long been forgotten or suppressed.

My first of many visits to Russia was more than twenty years ago, in May, 1994. I was invited by a Moscow economics think-tank to deliver critical remarks about the IMF. My impressions then were of a once-great people who were being humiliated to the last ounce of their life energy. Mafia gangsters sped along the wide boulevards of Moscow in sparkling new Mercedes 600 limousines with dark windows and without license plates. Lawlessness was the order of the day, from the US-backed Yeltsin Kremlin to the streets. "Harvard boys" like Jeffrey Sachs or Sweden's Anders Aaslund or George Soros were swarming over the city figuring new ways to rape and pillage Russia under the logo "shock therapy" and "market-oriented reform" another word for "give us your crown jewels."
