Best of the Web: These five countries have historically been the aggressor - NOT Russia

US A-bomb nuclear explosion
Here are some crimes against humanity committed by the 'civilized west'.

Angela Merkel's recent visit to Russia where the German Chancellor met with President Putin and attempted to lecture Russia, is emblematic of the hypocrisy of historically aggressive nations lecturing a Russian state whose many wars have been limited to defending itself against invasions.

Russian territory of course expanded over the centuries, but Russia never had the overseas and outwardly aggressive empires of the following countries.

Furthermore, Russia never committed the crimes against humanity that the following five nations did.

Best of the Web: What the warhawks and presstitute corporate media will never tell you about North Korea

© Sputnik / Illiya Pitalev

There is a great deal of propaganda and deliberate misinformation about North Korea, which the public should know.

While neocons, a cheering corporate media, and Deep State, rush to war with North Korea, information is the ultimate weapon.

For example, did you know that North Korea, China, and India, are the only three nations who have committed to a "no nuclear first" policy? They have pledged never to use nuclear weapons "first", but of course reserve the right to use them if attacked.

How many times has the US threatened to use nuclear weapons against North Korea?

Do you know that North Korea has repeatedly asked the US to engage in bilateral talks, to cool off the ever-escalating tension? The offer was flatly rejected by both Obama and Trump.

Can you resolve differences within your family without dialog? No dialogue, no peace. Why won't the US talk to North Korea??

Comment: Why the US should accept China's proposal for direct talks with North Korea

Best of the Web: From Syria to Korea: The American Empire's Rush to Crush Multipolarism

American Empire
A recent, unilateral, unjustified military strike on Syria by US cruise missiles, coupled with the deployment of a US naval fleet to the Korean Peninsula as well as terrorist attacks carried out by terrorist fronts worldwide associated with US-backed opposition groups signifies a worldwide push-back from Wall Street and Washington amid its crumbling "international order."

Like all hegemons before it, Wall Street and Washington have found themselves expending more time and resources maintaining their current geopolitical order than on either further expansion or domestic development. What has developed is a vicious cycle of aggression, conflict, and retrenchment. Throughout the process, there is the expenditure of irreplaceable political capital.

For example, while US policymakers rightly noted their "international order" built by and for Wall Street and Washington would suffer immensely had their attempts to overthrow the Libyan government in 2011 been reversed, their "success" was equally damaging. Before an increasingly capable world of alternative systems, blocs and an emerging multipolar order, the destruction of Libya and its current status as a failed state along with the protracted nature of the US campaign to topple the government was more a sign of growing weakness than a warning of American strength.

Best of the Web: It looks like we've just reached the point of peak stock market absurdity

skyline
Have you ever wondered how tech companies that have been losing hundreds of millions of dollars year after year can somehow be worth billions of dollars according to the stock market? Because I run a website called "The Economic Collapse ", there are naysayers out there that take glee in mocking me by pointing out how well the stock market has been doing. This week, the Dow is flirting with 21,000 and the Nasdaq crossed the 6,000 threshold for the first time ever. But a lot of the "soaring stocks" that have been fueling this rally have been losing giant mountains of money every single year, and just like the first tech bubble this madness will eventually come to an end in a spectacular fiery crash in which investors will lose trillions of dollars.

Anyone that cannot see that we are in the midst of an absolutely insane stock market bubble simply does not understand economics. Every valuation indicator that you can possibly point to says that we are in a bubble of epic proportions, and history teaches us that all bubbles inevitably come to an end at some point.

Best of the Web: Britain would be 'literally erased from the face of the earth' if it launched a nuclear attack, warns Russian MP

Nuclear explosion
Britain would be "literally erased from the face of the earth" if it started a nuclear war with Russia, a Russian MP has warned.

Franz Klintsevich, a retired colonel, was responding to comments from Defence Secretary Michael Fallon, who said "in the most extreme circumstances, we have made it very clear that you can't rule out the use of nuclear weapons as a first strike."

Mr Klintsevich said if Britain were to launch a preemptive strike, then "not having the biggest territory, it will literally be erased from the face of the earth."

Comment: This is an absolutely appropriate and accurate response to the delusional, impetuous and arrogant bellicosity of the repugnant British Defence Sec. Michael Fallon. All right-thinking English people should be supporting the words of the Russian MP and lobbying their wanna-be dictator politicians to shut the hell up, before they get them all killed.

Most of the media were quick to hail a 'New French Revolution' following the results of the first round of voting in France's 2017 Presidential election. Well, at a quick glance, the claim appears to have some substance.

After all, it's the first time since the founding of the Fifth Republic in 1958 that France's two main parties haven't made it through to the final round. Instead, we've got a run off between Emmanuel Macron, a 39-year old novice who hardly anyone had heard of a year ago, and who leads a party only formed in 2016, and Marine Le Pen.

But before we start getting all 1789, and heading off to smoke our clay pipes at the Club des Cordeliers, let's look a little closer.

Best of the Web: The Russians are coming! No wait, it's the zombies! No, the Nazis are back!

NATO flag on car
According to Bloomberg, Vladimir Putin is "quietly" annexing the Donbass region into Mother Russia. Meanwhile, NATO is holding a parliamentary assembly in the middle of icebound nowhere. Here in Germany the geniuses in charge of the government have created a "Ministry of Truth" in order to suppress deadly populism. Terror still grips us, North Korea is set to start Armageddon, and America's Rex Tillerson has an Exxon plan for Syria. In short, Trump changed nothing. Here we are, still caught in Alice's Wonderland.

Blooming Icebergs of Fake News and BS

Taking all this current madness from the top, it took four authors at Bloomberg to compile the fake news Putin is stealing eastern Ukraine away from the Kiev Nazis. Authors Henry Meyer, Ilya Arkhipov, Stepan Kravchenko, and Yuliya Fedorinova assure Bloomberg readers the Kremlin is masterminding a scheme to undermine the Kiev regime's credibility in the Donbass! As if shelling kids every day had made Poroshenko more popular in Donetsk. Read what these idiots tell their zombie readership:
"Russia has been moving gradually, using a blockade by Ukrainian activists as political cover to take over key economic links with the separatist zones. Last week, Russian Railways slashed rates for shipping coal and iron ore to points near the rebel areas, where the metals industry provides most jobs. That will allow Russia to replace Ukrainian supplies halted by Kiev and ensure that steel plants continue to function, according to two people in the industry."

With the first round of the French presidential election completed, virtually unknown former banker Emmanuel Macron and veteran right-winger Marine Le Pen made it through to the second round where one of them will become the next leader of France. Why did Macron come out on top, and why is the media already predicting that he will win in a landslide in 2 weeks time, and what does a Macron presidency portend for France.

An attack in the heart of Paris has been claimed by Daesh. While no stranger now to such attacks, France has yet to deal with home-grown terrorism, while it also continues supporting foreign governments who spread extremist ideologies and intervening in other nations affairs, as well as playing a double-standard game of good terrorist, bad terrorist. How will the backlash impact the upcoming French Presidential election?

Best of the Web: Khan Sheikhun False Flag: Chlorine, not Sarin

Attack Khan
© The New Indian Express
Those who blame the Syrian government for the allegedly chemical incident in Khan Sheikhun are now pushing the analysis of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to the front. But the results of the OPCW tests are inconsistent with the observed technical and medical facts of the incident.

The OPCW Director General Ambassador Üzümcü, a Turk, yesterday released its first results of his organization:
The bio-medical samples collected from three victims during their autopsy were analysed at two OPCW designated laboratories. The results of the analysis indicate that the victims were exposed to Sarin or a Sarin-like substance. Bio-medical samples from seven individuals undergoing treatment at hospitals were also analysed in two other OPCW designated laboratories. Similarly, the results of these analyses indicate exposure to Sarin or a Sarin-like substance.

Director-General Üzümcü stated clearly: "The results of these analyses from four OPCW designated laboratories indicate exposure to Sarin or a Sarin-like substance.
That's "Sarin or Sarin-like substance" three times a row. Sarin is also mentioned in the headline. Someone is pushing that meme hard.

Comment: O'Brien's signs you're being fooled by a sarin false flag:
  • People intoxicated with sarin don't look well. Ever. None of them.
  • People intoxicated with sarin don't gasp, cough, cry, or pant.
  • People intoxicated with sarin don't often foam at the mouth.
  • People intoxicated with sarin defecate massively and urinate all over themselves.
  • People intoxicated with sarin will vomit up everything they haven't defecated.
  • People intoxicated with sarin will produce a large volume of tears and a large volume of watery saliva.
  • People intoxicated with sarin turn blue. Always.
  • People intoxicated with sarin never turn pink or red. Never.
