Multiple people dead in 'worst mass shooting' in Swedish history
Sweden's worst mass shooting left at least 11 people dead, including the gunman, at an adult education center west of Stockholm as officials warned the death toll could rise.
The gunman's motive, as well as the number of wounded, had not been determined by early Wednesday as Sweden - where gun violence at schools is very rare - reeled from an attack with such bloodshed that police early on said it was difficult to count the number of dead among the carnage.
The school, called Campus Risbergska, offers primary and secondary educational classes for adults age 20 and older, Swedish-language classes for immigrants, vocational training and programs for people with intellectual disabilities. It is on the outskirts of Orebro, which is about 200 kilometers (125 miles) west of Stockholm.
Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer called the shooting "an event that shakes our entire society to its core."
The shooting started Tuesday afternoon after many students had gone home following a national exam. Students sheltered in nearby buildings, and other parts of the school were evacuated following the shooting.
Authorities were working to identify the deceased, and police said the toll could rise. Roberto Eid Forest, head of the local police, told reporters the suspected gunman was among the dead.
There were no warnings beforehand, and police believe the perpetrator acted alone. Police have not said if the man was a student at the school. They haven't released a possible motive, but authorities said there were no suspected connections to terrorism at this point.
Police raided the suspect's home after Tuesday's shooting, but it wasn't immediately clear what they found.
"Today, we have witnessed brutal, deadly violence against completely innocent people," Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson told reporters in Stockholm late Tuesday. "This is the worst mass shooting in Swedish history. Many questions remain unanswered, and I cannot provide those answers either.
"But the time will come when we will know what happened, how it could occur, and what motives may have been behind it. Let us not speculate," he said.
While gun violence at schools is very rare in Sweden, people were wounded or killed with other weapons such as knives or axes in several incidents in recent years.
Hmmm, I wonder how that shooter looked like, what language he spoke, and where he got that so-called "assault rifle" (an automatic rifle) from. The latter fact was reported here : [Link]
My guess - "southern look", non-European language, and the rifle passed through the Ukraine not so long ago ...
codis Guns aren't illegal in Sweden. So why would it have to pass thru Ukraine when you can buy them in stores?
Sweden’s number of deadly shootings has increased each year since 2005, the Scandinavian country sees more random and dispersed shootings involving young people than other European nations. Norway had a mass shooting in 2011 that killed 87 people.
Perhaps the Swedish admin is getting cold feet over something and needed a reminder to stay on message. This admin sold an innocent man to US alphabet soups which cost him 10 years of his life, and could have very well cost him his life.
Let's not speculate. Let's just wait for the official bullshit.

Refused by military service - had a license for four rifles
Aftonbladet writes (translation):
Rickard Andersson, 35, is reportedly suspected of carrying out the worst mass murder in Swedish history.
According to consistent information, the man has lived in isolation and had mental health problems.
He was denied military service - but was given a licence for four hunting rifles, according to Aftonbladet.
The picture of suspected mass murderer Rickard Andersson's life is becoming clearer and clearer. Consistent information describes him as a loner with virtually no social contact.
Documents from the Swedish National Service Agency show that the man was repeatedly informed that he was not eligible for military service when he came of age.
‘You and all other Swedish men are obliged to enlist in the year you turn 18. However, the National Service Agency shall only call those to enlistment who we judge to have the prerequisites to be enrolled for military or civilian service or in a training reserve.’
‘With reference to the Swedish National Agency for Education's information, which we have previously informed you about, the National Service Agency will not call you to muster,’ the decision states.
A loner
In an email to Aftonbladet, the Swedish National Service Agency writes that the reason he was never called up for muster was because he lacked upper secondary school qualifications. Grading documents that Aftonbladet has taken part of show that he basically did not meet any goals to get a final grade in elementary school.
People close to the man, with whom Aftonbladet has had contact, unanimously testify to an individual with social and mental problems that began as early as primary school.
After school, he is said to have lived in isolation.
- He really is a loner. He used to have a friend he socialised with a lot, but not now. He wants to be on his own. He doesn't seem to like people and stuff like that,’ says a relative.
Had a licence for four riflesDespite the mental problems, the man had a firearms licence for four rifles, according to Aftonbladet. During the attack, he is said to have been carrying three rifles and a knife, one of which was a standard hunting rifle with 30-06 calibre ammunition. There are also reports that a shotgun was used during the mass murder.
In order to obtain a firearms licence, a person must undergo a suitability test. It is the police who carry out this test. One requirement is that you must have a hunting licence.
Aftonbladet has contacted the police to ask about aptitude tests to obtain a firearms licence.
‘Due to high operational pressure at present, we decline an interview on the issue,’ writes press secretary Mathias Rutegård in an email.
Aftonbladet has requested documents from the police about the man's possession of weapons, but has been denied access to documents due to confidentiality.
Bsotted "lonely, psycho gunman" The thought has crossed my mind. In fact, since Sweden became member of NATO, i told my partner quite recently... that we are likely going to see more fucked up / unusual events in our country... (as it often has been the case in other NATO countries in the past)
Another thought that crosses my mind is about the claim that the killer shot himself... What do we in truth really know about that ?
XPan In truth @ XPan do we really know the reality behind the scenes...Truth or fiction. Only those that are behind the scenes know, of course. The real truth, is not for public disclosure.
Stating as in many other countries...An issue of 'National Security'
Ah! The mantra for truth..dig and question more, the vipers nest will emerge in time.
Thing is the viper will strike again and again until it decimates it's victim
XPan Well, that would be the first time in known history when MSM outlets are telling us the truth.
But even if, one open question remains - where did this Breivik impersonator the automatic rifle (a.k.a. "assault rifle") get from ?
Such an automatic weapon was used in the attack as another source reported, and no private person is allowed to get one in the EU. And surely not for hunting.
codis He had 3 hunting rifles that he used. No automatic rifle used because for one thing they are at least $20,000 which he didn't have that kind of money to be buying. 2nd there would have been way more than 10 people killed.
Joan What are you babbling about? It was carried out in public with hundreds of witnesses. Are you saying they are all in on it? So there is no behind the scenes, it was all out in the open.
The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure that it is right; the spirit of liberty is the spirit which seeks to understand the minds of other men and women; the spirit of liberty is the spirit which weighs their interests alongside its own without bias; the spirit of liberty remembers that not even a sparrow falls to earth unheeded; the spirit of liberty is the spirit of Him who, near two thousand years ago, taught mankind that lesson it has never learned, but has never quite forgotten; that there may be a kingdom where the least shall be heard and considered side by side with the greatest.
