Trump wins US presidential election, sends 'Trumpquake' through Washington

Former US President Donald Trump has secured a second term in office, leading US media outlets have reported, after officials in Wisconsin confirmed that the Republican candidate has won the state.

The win delivered ten electoral college votes to Trump, bringing him over the threshold of 270. He claimed victory hours earlier, predicting that he would also win the popular vote once the final tally is made.

Wisconsin was one of the key battleground states in this election cycle, potentially flipping for either of the two candidates. The results of several of these swing states largely determine who wins the election. Under the country's political system, all electoral votes from each state go to the winner.

Trump won Wisconsin in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, but lost it in 2020 to Joe Biden. He and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris focused heavily on the state in their campaigns.

Harris, who serves as vice president in the Biden administration, is expected to address supporters later in the day.

A number of leaders have already congratulated Trump, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and others.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that he is not aware whether President Vladimir Putin plans to congratulate Trump. For Russia, the US is "a deeply unfriendly nation that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our state," he explained.

Comment: Time to Make America Great Again! Questions remain, however, as to whether there are some shenanigans yet to come that keeps Trump out of office or how the Deep State will choose to hamstring his presidency. But a symbolic victory, the American people rejecting the Deep State and its puppet, is still something to celebrate.

Looking at the image and digesting the headline, I suddenly had a revelation.

Trump will almost certainly be the US equivalent to Gorbatchov.

Buffalo_Ken As a side note, it was not that Gorbatchov "precipitated" the end of the Soviet Union. Fate made him the man to preside over the end of an empire. He might have been able to prolong it a bit, but not prevent it.

This is the situation Trump is in. He can manage the transition more peacefully, without too much people getting killed - and I especially mean non-Americans here.

While I hope this applies to Americans as well, there will definitely be some pain ...

And decades of reconstruction and catching-up.

codis - I think what was "revealed" to you is valid.....I think though as always there is uncertainty.

Hard to predict, but the who the "Trump Team" puts in place will be most indicative....

Too early to "throw names" out there - but I also intend on putting "Trump" to the test in regards to what he expressed regarding his relationship with net in ya hoo - and that *elensky fella must be pissing in his pants just now....

cause last time - he basically filled his team with swamp creatures - and we all know - they won't drain the swamp.

So - time will tell - but seriously - I'm truly happy this whole "voting" thing is over - and in the future - I think ALL voting - no matter the scale - should be on paper ballots only.

You want to know why?

Analog sometimes is better than digital - easier to audit - and more reliable - so really - paper ballots ONLY. If that happens, there is a chance I might vote again in the future....but what matters next is who the Trump-Team is composed of....that will be telling.

When the government fell, everything fell apart, salaries, pensions and annuities stopped being paid. This lasted for several years.

There are various estimates, but supposedly 3 million people died of hunger and cold in Russia!!

And the US is worse, because during this time it has accumulated a large amount of external debts that will have to be paid off.

The worst thing, however, is the loss of trust. No one believes in the promises of the US governments anymore... this is a "moral crisis" mentioned in the movie "WallStreet 2"

And this tragic debt - 36 TRILLION DOLLARS! Who will bear it!?

This is the situation, so Trump's talk of the "Golden Age of the USA" is a lie, you have a hard uphill road ahead of you.

Are Americans ready for this??

Immigrants, border sealing, abortion, DEI, the destruction of the middle class, the outflow of manufacturing, the value of the dollar... these are the least of your problems. In fact, they are NO problems at all.

You're probably right. They thought at the time that they had dealt Russia a fatal blow...all that was left was to wait until it died.

However, no matter how you look at it, everything will fall apart. We should be glad that Trump will make it a "controlled collapse" so as to minimize losses.

People should be helped to identify a reasonable goal, and supported to accomplish what they can, but they have to do the work and be subject to the same qualification criteria as anyone else.

My brother-in-law's father (both now deceased) contracted polio (or maybe DDT poisoning?) as a young man in the 1920s. This was in the days when disability meant social exclusion, and he was barely able to walk with a crutch. When he was humiliated by not being able to get away from an aggressive rooster, he set about to learn the skills to successfully design and create his own leg brace. Did someone teach him some of those skills? Did someone lend him some welding tools? Perhaps. Good people do such things.

Eventide My mother had polio, which has had a ripple effect on my life.

We come into this world, as infants, and our parents and their experiences and views, shape our own lives immensely.

She was unable to walk for a period, but she credits a doctor who played (somewhat) by 'his own rules'; for enabling her to recover as much as she did. She says she was never able to run again, or play certain games though, as children rightly and naturally do. I never saw her run.

She is 91 now and when I watch her walk, she reminds me of a child.

For my part, I try to stay away from medical professionals, as much as possible. I have a hard time trusting any of them. Despite my mother's deep gratitude to her own doctor.

I ran 6 miles on Wednesday, post-election, as part of my routine to stay from true believers.

Of which there are many.

I try to go my own way, even though I don't really know what that way is.

I'd rather walk than drive a car, and I'd rather look at the trees then spend much time on a computer.
