Via a direct equity investment, the American food giant will acquire a minority stake in Protix, and eventually create an "insect ingredient facility" to manufacture bug-based protein in the United States.
In an October 17 statement, Tyson Foods revealed:
"When the proposed plant is completed, it will be the first at-scale facility of its kind to upcycle food manufacturing byproducts into high-quality insect proteins and lipids which will primarily be used in the pet food, aquaculture, and livestock industries."Chief Financial Officer John Tyson said:
"Our partnership with Protix represents the latest strategic investment by Tyson Foods in groundbreaking solutions that drive added value to Tyson Foods' business. The insect lifecycle provides the opportunity for full circularity within our value chain, strengthening our commitment to building a more sustainable food system for the future."The CEO of Protix, Kees Aarts, called the agreement:
"A major milestone for Protix and significantly accelerates our ambition to grow through international partnerships. Our company could immediately use [Tyson Foods'] existing byproducts as feedstock for our insects."Protix, founded in 2019, is one of the largest manufacturers of insect ingredients in the world, producing and processing 14,000 metric tons per year in the Netherlands. While most of its products are used in pet food, aquaculture feed, livestock feed and organic fertilizer industries, bug-based protein has been pushed for human consumption by some.
According to the Ecologist, many insects "provide high-quality complete protein," meaning they "contain all nine essential amino acids and are rich in fibre, iron and calcium." While many in the West have come out strongly in opposition to the idea of eating bugs, the idea has been touted by some for developing nations.

Convienience requires less effort, the world government new the majority could be used to push everyone through their meat grinder. Collect the few dissidents later.
Mans law. Who ever can force his fellow neighbour to "lose the plot".
No right to food autonomy, but you can have the priviledge of eating cancer causing foods ...in a hope to "stay alive" if you accept CBDC's.
The planet's insects are disappearing, and have been disappearing for the last 25 years. Has nobody noticed? There have been no squashed bugs on your windshield (windscreen) in the summer for the past several years. How are we going to eat bugs if there are none, because they have all died off, probably due to insecticides, GMO crops, and 5G microwave electromagnetic pollution? In the same time, 25% of songbirds have disappeared, probably due to the disappearance of bugs for them to eat. And bats are dying out too. And honeybees, which pollinate fruits and nuts.
Don't believe their bullshit. You will never have to eat bugburgers, because before then, you will be dead, which is their REAL objective.
A new meme maybe, "Go Roaches, go brokes". Tyson raises chickens that can't even walk.
Also your admission about EU ban....is purely based on trust!!
"Do not be decieved"
I won't deny I use round-up but when I finish what is left I guess I won't purchase it again - but using it in my small yard I reckon ain't the same as spraying it on a huge field of homogeneous crops growing unnaturally danny....funny thing is, I knew it was a herbicide, but decided not to speak up on that and then Dwoods44 expressed the same sentiment....
the devil in the details I reckon and even a good tool can go wrong if used indiscriminately I reckon danny...
Lately, I've decided to take a "pause" on some things and you have been on a tear if you don't mind me saying and thank you so much for that, but gusto is not sustainable - just some unsolicited sentiment that I've learned for myself.
Best to you - a fine barrister I suspect you are.
Ken
Are you suprised? A fine tool none the less and your contribution to the chemical company will be greatly accepted and used to fund more of the same, the devil is in the details, and satan means business!
For weeds I prefer to burn them with a long blowtorch that accepts a C500 at waist height. In the fall boiling water, in summer if dry I use cardboard collars and/or saltwater or traditional dig up and compost.
Judge ye not
A herbicide kills herbs (herbacious plants) a pesticide kills pests, the only thing your not seeing is who is killing who and who thinks who (to them) is a pest. (and should therefor be destroyed)
I don't expect a free ride here, but take a look at the history of Monsanto, ICI, Beyer et all....and you will be taken back to WW2 and you might notice why we are sold "house hold" chemicals, toothpaste, Bleach (which can make Chlorine gas) and weedkiller etc, tools ...sold to you to buy, which help people, convieniently like you say, even a good tool can be used indiscriminately...Always wear gloves.
I try to stay away from chemicals, just a precaution really.
I once saw two saplings killed by roundup, the kind planted at the edge of the road to replace boundary trees, the local council treated a 2square feet section of weeds growing at the base of each of saplings, it was hot and these saplings drawing up water, were both dead within a week or two, leaves died and blew off leaving a rotting thin trunk thats bark was coming away from its core, Hawthorn and Birch.
Not a barrister no. Gusto no (boredom, knee injury and have free internet connection....beautiful!) Im just learning how internet discourse works, enjoy comments and commenting, the nice thing to know is we are changing nothing and only here for a short time.
Be well and I appreciate you - be well for your own sake - I'll do likewise for the sake of myself and those I love.
You look after yourself and your loved ones.
You are stalwart in my mind - stalwart to your principle - so as RC would say: hang tough ....God rest his soul.
there will be a better day and together we are better....
Just remember sometimes a pause is beneficial - both for you and those you love.
I hope your prepped Ken, spiritually, I pray for all you guys, I think it will get ugly before we see any positive changes. People need to harden up big time.
Best to you.
Ken
So be aware that many. many people know those vampires and parasites for what they are. You are not alone. They are the world's greatest liars and murderers, and many people know it, but many don't, believing their lies. Here is a good article on the subject: " Israels' Culture of Deceit " [Link] Pass it on to as many as will listen.
I was easy to deal with as I was working alone, one man alone!!! Oooh scary!! They have police officers and a cheeky grin, thats it!!
Isreal (the biblical people) travelled north and west of Palestine to coastal islands (they are the european man) and are lost, divorced from God, scattered.
The people who call themselves Jews are imposters, Babylonian slave owners who saw how profitable the Isrealites were, how blessed they were and immitate them in every way possible to try and supercede these blessings, by force.
Governing the Israelites is the only way they can survive, the Isrealites will slowly die out and become a remnant which God will save, as the Isrealites fall away the land will not produce and the world will grow darker, more hostile and cursed.
The imposter will take the bible in name only (they don't live by or under the law as no law in the bible allows them to do what they do....but the Talmud does!!)
Read Yeshua (Jesus) in the bible and let him teach you everything about you and who these imposters are. Just do it, with a clear mind, otherwise you will be at the mercy of the blind guides, plenty of them around.
China eatz zeeee bugzzzzz so everyone else has to eatz zee bugzzzzz
The exoskeleton of some insects are indigestable and cause severe problems to the digestive tract throughout. Its like smalk shards of glass that cannot be reduced down by stomach acid and irritates the intestines (small and large).
The exoskeleton is called ‘chitin’. It is generally consider indigestible as you said above.
Chitin digestibility is dependent on feeding behaviors, which determine acidic chitinase mRNA levels in mammalian and poultry stomachs [Link]
Mammals, including mice and humans, do not synthesize chitin but possess two active chitinases, chitotriosidase (Chit1) and acidic chitinase (hereafter referred to as “Chia”; alternative name: acidic mammalian chitinase, AMCase) in their genomes34,35. These mammalian chitinases belong to the family 18 of glycoside hydrolases
