I understand how this man ended up where he is, and I have empathy for him. I only hope that he doesn't receive the death penalty because two wrongs don't make a right. He is much more valuable alive to share his story as a cautionary tale. A lot of foreign mercenaries will die for nothing, and even if they realize their mistake and try to leave, Ukraine will shoot them in the back as deserters.

Psstoffgoy I used to think I'd be one, and at one time I might have been, but I find it hard to fathom with a spirituality I've nurtured since that time in my life. Now you just wouldn't find me in a foxhole. I'd die for my beliefs, but I still don't think I'd kill for them.
