Gavin Newsome leads the way with his 100% candle-lit office
Working by candelight at his desk, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new law that bans electricity, propelling the state into a progressive futuristic paradise. Newsom said he got the idea while experiencing the latest round of rolling blackouts in the state. He decided to make the blackouts the law of the land.
"Other, backward states still use carbon-heavy electricity, gas for heating and cooking, and wasteful air conditioning," he said proudly as people applauded around him. "But not on my watch. California has progressed beyond these archaic concepts."
The law also bans vehicles, forcing pedestrians to use innovative new horse-driven carriages.
Next on the legislative docket? The elimination of water-wasting toilets, to be replaced by just going on the sidewalk. A pilot program in San Francisco has been very successful, according to the homeless population there.

We drove to Florida around 1/65 when I was 6.
Our goal from 8th Grade was a california summer trip which I did for both 78 & 79,
After UF, undergrad, in 1/81, I took a job with the Feds in Carson/Watts/Compton/Long Beach area.I lived 25 miles South in HB and would surf HB pier as soon as I got home, night surfing ubtil around 10 p, if the waves were good. Surfed mostly HB, Trestles, Blacks.s.
Then, in grad school in 84. we left Florida in May drove to Summit County & skied A Basin 8 days straight. (Rentals and lift tix were each $5 per day.) We drove on to Ziion Canyon & North Rim of Grand Canyon. Then on to Malibu, etc. Sleeping on floors of other Florida surf buddie's places. Then down to Encinitas for the summer where I worked making good money.
Last I was there was to the bay area to see family & ski Tahoe around 2004?
My brother just was in San Diego and said it wasn't like LA suupposedly has become. There's still time. Wanna meet at Tahoe? Keep your mind open. Cal's a big place.
