The French Air Force increased its military operations inside Syria and Iraq during the month of May, the French Ministry of Defense reported on Monday.

According to a document released by the Ministry of Defense on Monday, the Anti-ISIS Coalition conducted 123 percent more strikes in the month of May than April.

"In this framework, the number strikes carried out by the Coalition in may rose by 123 percent compared with the level in April," the French MoD claimed.

The French Air Force has reportedly used Jordanian and Emirati airspace to bomb the Islamic State's (ISIS) positions inside Syria and Iraq.

"In the last week, French aircraft carried out twenty air sorties in support of local forces engaged on the ground (week from 23 to 29 May), primarily on intelligence and reconnaissance missions. No strikes were carried out," the French MoD continued.

Since September 19th, 2014, the Anti-ISIS Coalition has conducted 8,095 sorties and 1,450 airstrikes, while also destroying 2,241 targets.
